This I actually have tried on my Steam Deck. And it works quite well for most games! There are two games I've tried that seem to have problems. Star Wars Rogue Leader seems to run really badly on it, regardless of the resolution I set for it, and Nintendo Puzzle Collection keeps crashing on me during the single player mode (near the end of the game) for Panel de Pon. Everything else seems to run well in my testing. F-Zero GX is sublime in HD!
I know it's been 8 months since this comment, but I just set up dolphin using EmuDeck and fired up F-Zero GX, and it won't let me proceed past the initial "Do you want to create a save file in memory card slot A" prompt. It lets me move left and right to highlight "Yes" and "No", but no buttons I press will confirm my selection. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? What did you set the Dolphin controls to?
It’s auto config per EmuDeck. If you are having issues go into desktop mode, open emudeck, go into emulator management and reset Dolphin config. That should solve it
I like to watch your vids even though I know all this stuff already ha. I love my deck have been using it regularly for a year and a half it's still impressing me like the first day I got it. One of my favorite things is being able to run VLC while playing in game mode. Stuff like that make it better than other emulation handhelds. So steamy indeed
Idk if others are like me but I mainly play on handhelds so I dont have to wear glasses. Steam deck + switch + PSP We handheld enthusiasts are feasting and just wait until the handheld pc market matures more and more 🤤 I love being able to just wait and technology gets better lol
I can't make it work because the GameCube folder has some sort of lock in the bottom right corner, like the one the mame2003 has (2:11), is there a way to fix it.
Question: does the built-in compression tool to RVZ formats work? If so, is it worth it? I have many GameCube games but haven't tried compressing them yet.
Do you need that dock station in order to transfer the files onto your steamdeck or can you just download the files from desktop mode and put them directly in to the game file folders?

How do you get 2 disc games to work here? Is it any different than doing it on Dolphin on another system? i.e. having 2 separate “games” for disc 1 and disc 2 in the emu deck collection. I put resident evil 4 into a .m3u file and it refused to open

I downloaded action replay on GameCube is there a way I can use it on steam deck? It keep saying swap disk but I’m not sure how to open the menu to switch disk on dolphin.
I having an issue with Wind Waker. The steam deck buttons aren't working. The loading screen just says to press start, I press every button and nothing. Any ideas?
I got my steamdeck a couple of days ago and i have got ps1 gba gbc sega all that jazz ect up and running no problem, but gamecube and ds have been a nightmare, i have put the roms and bios in the folder ect as you do i even tried it step by step watching this video for gamecube but no luck at all ,i updated the games to steam rom manager but the games dont show up or anything, have i missed something, dolphin ect is all ticked in stream rom aswell but i just have no clue its weird 😢
On desktop mode it will close steam before it runs but that’s not normal. You should then be able to use the parser as normal. Assuming that’s not working?
I'm having an issue where it wont let me use my controller. I can get the game to boot, but no input. I've set up the controller and it still doesnt seem to work
Go back into emudeck and make sure it’s updated. Then watch my newest emudeck setup video in the playlist and follow along with the “reset configuration” option. You need to reset the config for this emulator
I was able to add it through steam rom manager just fine and it detects my games and shows in my steam library. However when I try to run it through gaming mode, it doesn't run the games. It looks like it tries to start then immediately stops. However, when I go into desktop mode and run the games through dolphin, they load just fine. Any ideas what is causing it to crash through the steam library?
@@stylec0 Did you find the fix now? I am having the exact same issue. Besides Dolphin and PPSSPP, all my other emulators work perfectly in both game and desktop modes.

Since the latest update to emudeck a month or 2 ago dolphin does not detect any controller. The steam deck controls don’t work and my wireless bitdo controller as well. ive gone into controller settings and nothing i tweak works. anyone else have this problem or know a solution?
My game ube emulator stopped working and wiii u so im here frying to fix it . Had to update cemu and it worked tight away dolphin wont even load the game instant back to home screen lol
@VideoGameEsoterica I tried to uninstall and reinstall mine still got nothing. I haven't messed with it yet today but hopefully it's working I'll get that. I uninstalled emu deck and installed it again, I tried updating everything that helped a little with my other ones like Cemu.

Rogue Leader always seems to have issues. Pretty high test game
What about Puzzle Collection multiplayer modes? Any issues there? I'm more into having friends over.

Go into emudeck on desktop mode and reset the emulator. Sounds like bindings got messed up for buttons

This is good information, what should have been included is how to access the in game menu or how to set up the buttons for it
The buttons are autoconfig with emudeck

Yes it works, I've compressed all the games for PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast, and it works great and saves you tons of space.

Either or is totally fine. I just find the browser in desktop mode to be annoying so I show the transfer via USB / Dock

Yep. That’s how I capture all these. USB C from Deck to Dock. Dock carries HDMI out the back

Should auto bind. Are you in gaming mode?

That should always be your first stop when problems like this happen. It just resets everything binding wise to stock :)

what audio setting in In game settings should I choose for the steam deck? Mono stereo or surround sound?
If you are handheld just stereo. I believe the a Dock will pass through 5.1 if you have it

Star Wars is just rough. It does some things the large majority of other games don’t
Resident evil 2 GameCube runs fine on my steam deck, but resident evil 3 is so slow it’s awful, can I fix that?

Check the file names. They need to match games that appear in steamDB

Each folder in emudeck comes with a system info txt file. Open that and it will tell you every format you can use

Reset emulator config in the emudeck app on desktop and try again

Try resetting emulator config in emudeck app on desktop
@@VideoGameEsoterica I went into dolphin and updated/reinstalled the flat packs. That fixed it and even my bitdo controller works again now
