But compared to Western , North East Asian and some other SEA countries ( Singapore , Thailand , Malaysia , Philippines , Brunei , Indonesia ...) , Vietnam is still a very affordable country to visit .

Which keeps the rifraf out. Hanoi in February can be really cold. Take the Reunification Express via Hoi An to get all those custom made garments for a song. If you over buy, post to your mum.
