    Out of curiosity why wouldn't there be an option to schedule a cesarean? Also, the sugar should have been washed of before replacing the prolapse because it could invite insects and fungus.

    • @alisong2328
      @alisong2328 2 месяца назад +4

      I think she left it on so the tissue would continue to shrink from the dehydration effect of the sugar?

    • @doreencaputo2942
      @doreencaputo2942 2 месяца назад +3

      @@alisong2328 it still wouldn't be ideal. It would have been possible to rinse with a hypertonic saline solution which would rinse the sugar and add salt which would also shrink the tissue.

    • @jnakkash25
      @jnakkash25 2 месяца назад +5

      Sugar in its pure form, or incorporated into a paste containing an adhesive hydropolymer (gum), is a non-toxic treatment for a variety of wounds. Not only does it provide a suitable clean environment for angiogenesis to take place, but it will debride the wound surface and reduce odour.

    • @jnakkash25
      @jnakkash25 2 месяца назад +7

      This statement also comes from the merck veterinary manual “Applying sugar to the surface of the uterus or rinsing with hypertonic saline can help to reduce edema and aid reduction of the prolapse”. So maybe it’s not so much about aiding granulation tissue and more about shrinking the prolapse so you can fit it back in.

      I asked my doctor about masks and he said they give very little protection but he does wear one when doing surgery cause of protocol.

      I'm sure they typically do, I think they didn't here because they're recording, and the mic might have trouble picking up their voices with masks, maybe too muffled
