Jane came to visit in my city just a few weeks ago. Tickets sold out in no time flat. There is a huge audience for her and her message. I was not fortunate enough to attend, but the fact that women is still travelling around in 2024 is incredible. This was an awesome documentary.
If only the original documentary wasn't purposely lost, so other fake ones can be made with twists and lies. Ive seen the original many many years ago and now seeing all this fakeness, is crazy
Leakey chose three students at that time later known as the Trimates. Jane with Chimpanzees, Dian Fossey (RIP) with Gorillas and last but by no means least Birute Galdikas with Orangutans (my hero, working with the "tamest" of the chosen primates studied). Together yet individually they physically built and started the primate rehab centers of today from the ground up. All three Trimates found happiness, love, caring and respect from their charges. We should ALL learn from them. We should ALL be so fortunate. 🐒 🦧 🦍 🕊️
I feel I just took 1/3 of what seemingly could be the beginning of a wonderful course in the study of Leaky & his three chosen & brilliant famous students w/ Jane Goodall, her life & all it meant, being a fabulous 1st 1/3.
“Tamest” is quite the laughable term when talking about great apes. What the video doesn’t show you is how unnecessarily violent, cruel, selfish, sometimes homicidal chimpanzees really are. I could keep going but I’ll end it due to the fact that I don’t have any nice things to say about chimpanzees other than they’re extremely intelligent a55holes. Gorillas are surprisingly just giant pacifists. They mock charge other rival males so he and his family can be safer away from danger. Orangutans fall somewhere in between the two because they are not anywhere close to being called tame. In fact I know I’ve seen more videos lately of orangs acting very agro, no thanks I’m good. Give me a “tame” gorilla any day. Lol 😆
"All three... found happiness, love, caring and respect from their charges." If only they had been respected by Leakey himself as well. It gives a twist on the meaning of 'Trimates'... Try-mates.
She had zero credentials, her obsession with chimps cost her her marriage and missing out on a good portion of her son's childhood. But hey, at least we found out that Chimps can be brutally dangerous. What a hero she is that we should all strive to be.......NOT.
So was I. It really broke me up when the chimps got Polio, it definitely made the tears come pouring out. I'm in my 60's and remember when Polio was striking people in the 60's. Very painful to see the chimps disabled like they were. Take care friend. ✌️
Hopefully becasue you realized what exactly happened here. Have you seen what happens at the very end of the official documentary? She and her crew were there and began feeding all these chimps to bribe their peaceful attention. In the end, jane and the crew realize it's too expensive to keep feeding them, they began getting 100% of their food from Jane and the crew. So when they decide they can't do it anymore, the chimps attack their shelter, and eventually, Jane and the crew had to abandon shelter and every single chimp that relied on them. Yet you people act she's some kind of hero.
As a child, I remember reading the National Geographic and tearing up, so it happens again and I'm 68. Jane is my hero. I fell in love with the chimps in my mind way back then and the story stayed with me my whole life.
She is a kind and brave woman with naturalistic intelligent. I really love people like her. Thanks Jane Goodall...YOU ARE A BLESS TO US & OUR MOTHERNATURE💚.
As a girl who dreams a lot, I gained a lot of insight from Dr. Jane through this film and I’m thankful that I was able to watch this film. It’s amazing how a single opportunity can change the course of your life forever and at the same time, Dr. Jane’s sincerity and empathy made this research as impactful as it is. The insight on motherhood, grief, and conflict stood out to me and I would have never expected to know if I hadn’t watched this.
Let's hear it for all the other lesser known and unsung heroes of ecology and natural resources management! Jane inspired me in her compassion, and I hope some day I can be a ecologist or zoologist, or some type of biology researcher with a field component! I love the outdoors, and Jane's passion for immersion is truly spectacular. Thanks for her legacy and that of other caring, passionate researchers!
Jane is one of the greatest creatures on this earth that we call human. She lives in harmony with nature and with herself❤🌎 Thank you for your kindness, Jane❤
What a gold nugget. Thank you for sharing this. Growing up names like Jane and David sparked the imagination when we were shared programmes of our natural world. I hope that the generations here, well past my time, will get to feel the wonder that is the natural world.
This documentary was beautiful and heartwarming! ❤ I have the utmost admiration and respect for Ms. Gooddall and her accomplishments. I absolutely loved seeing the history of Jane's research and life. The video had amazing foottage of the Chimpanzees, really showing their personalities, interpersonal relationships, and group behavior. It gave deeper understanding of the research done here and continuing to this day. Of course, I am a huge fan of National Geographic as well. Thank you for bringing us the life of Jane!! ❤
I am ,and always have been one of those millions of inspired children! i am now, without a doubt, as tears flow from my eyes, inspired as an empty nester!! See! All these documentaries about her have been edited and twisted. The original documentary is apparently gone forever, so most people will never see the truth. Sad af! After her and the Crew fed the chimps nothing but bananas for a period of time, long enough for the chimps to become 100% reliable on the crew. Eventually it was so expensive they stopped feeding them, after that the chimps went apeshit and violently trashed the camp looking for food. Jane and crew, out of fear eventually abandoned the camp and all the chimps. The chimps forgot how to forage and eventually went crazy, disband and fought, and killed each other. So good job, Jane! Also, in the original documentary, it shows the whole polio outbreak issue. No5 is good at all! Shame on jane goodal and everyone else who thought it was their job to intervene with the chimps lives in Africa. You couldn't just leave them alone and watch from distance. Grrr, it makes me so mad when you people treat Jane like a hero. Ok, maybe her heart was in the right place, but she took it to far.
Fabulous film. I was blessed to hear Jane speak in Utah in 2016. The room was packed--and people listened with awe and respect. She is simply superb--a real model for how to live a life that serves the planet and all her beings.

I hope national geographic would also make a documentary about diane fossey a primatologist and conservationists undertaking an extensive study of mountain gorilla in rwanda , her death was tragic but her legacy go on until today
Watching this masterpiece again ❤ she just made me realize so many things... That I have always confused about. I feel myself as a person belong to forest ❤😊 , to animals.
@@jackcaldwell485 it is absolutely hideous that you are saying that. She went to Gombe to study our closest living relatives - chimpanzees. That was the reason why she ventured into those forests, sometimes risking her own life.
