Arjun vs. online player: C41 Philidor's defence
French vs. Julian: A48 King's Indian, East Indian defence
Finegold vs. Class C player: E32 Nimzo-Indian, classical variation
Arjun and Ben are such a great comic duo!
Rimpelmans I agree. Love their interactions.
Love the fact that this lecture is particularly entertaining because of the bad scoresheet, not despite of it.
Qxg4! LOL!
"This is Grandmaster Breakdown, the grandmaster is breaking down."
Ben Fine gold one of the best GM Chess lecturers on the circuit.
That little kid is so adorable.
love bens breakdowns, i watch all the skill levels he lectures, id like to think im a fairly good calculating player, but reallly ive only ever played people at uni and ive come to realise actually im not great, they just all sucked, so its nice to have someone put it all into perspective for you!
Ben: "I shouldn't have left my phone at home. You know why, Argen?"
Argen: "Why?"
Ben: "Because this is a disaster."
Argen (totally confused): "What?"
I laughed waaaaay too hard at that.
HAHAHA =)
+brain “BrianZhouGaming” hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha=) =) :-)

I still dont get it
New Drinking Game. Do a shot every time that Ben makes a snarky shot about Mike Kummer.
*dies*
Oh man, I love game 1 is Arjun vs someone in the description. Hooray!
It is hard for me to watch my favorite grandmaster be under the weather and not as enthusiastic as he usually is. But if anyone is reading this comment, There is so much to learn in this channel. Its amazing.
+iChess E4 me too
more Finegold less everybody else please .. Sincerely
I think Finegold is great, but I also like Akobian.
elbay2 and Seirawan
oliver gutierrez That's true, Yasser is quite good.
+oliver gutierrez And Mike Kummer.
Best video ever for some reason.
oh man Finegold is something else
Truly a fine vintage seeing that second game dissected
this guy's sarcasm is great, why is nobody laughing XD
H2oFormula they got used to it
I'm sad ben didn't do more of these, this was hilarious

That second game was shocking for 1900 rated players. The slapdown of their notation skills was particularly harsh though.
How is it harsh?
***** Yeah, that part was great. I don't get why everybody thinks this is harsh. 1900 players who don't know algebraic notation, which is something every chessplayer should know, let alone 1900-players... Another thing that's shocking is the quality of play. If i'd played such a terrible game I certainly wouldn't show it to a grandmaster. Ben is a great teacher and a really funny guy. Sad that it seems i'm the only one who gets his jokes...
***** BATMAN???
I am rated 1777 and I know how to write my moves down and most of them moves were horrifying to me! Loved the comment about Knight, the symbol for batman three, not the first time Ben's lectures have made me roll around laughing, they are like stand up comedy. The problem I have is that Ben's lectures are so good, I struggle to watch any of the others!
Hey, is that you Tim? How's things?
Did you know, I'm Ben's scriptwriter and he was using one of my scoresheets? (I use the name French when I'm in disguise) hehehehe
This is hilarious. He has to annotate a game with a poorly written score while he is sick XD
Poor guy, chess is hard!
I love GM Finegold class
24:28 Nxc5, Nf5 then Qa3 makes sense
Ben analysed that 2nd beginners game more than any other game in his life hahahaha
The legendary Arjun (9 years ago!) went down a notch in my estimation, until Ben discovered the move he missed and corrected the game.
In the second game, it was probably Ne5-g4 (instead of f3). That would have meant that Qxg4 would indeed take something and then N-batman-signal-3 would be Nf3.
Ben listens to Lady Gaga.......very suspicious
This was an outstanding video for kids and some adults who don't understand the importance of writing skills! Even though we are in this digital world, simple handwriting is a lost art/skill which is essential in many ways!! And besides, chess players should be held to a higher standard...GM Ben Finegold was great as usual, even not feeling too well.
10:20 things really start heating up. Room temperature goes from 72 all the way to 73 degrees.
+wayne miller Hardy har har har.
Another German phrase for you Ben:
"Berührt - geführt" for "touch / move"
Lol @ the Telephone reference
"Whut??"
"Okay so hope you..."
Ben finegold is the best ..
and you're the worst
33:46 He was about to quote the repeated "Is it safe?" line from Marathon Man. He quotes it all the time, lol
What would Dustin Hoffman say? What would Laurence Olivier say?
only ben would think a kit kat is more valuable than an ipad
attempted Marathon Man Reference @ 33:54, but excused due to illness.
N🦇3! Best move in the position.
25:00 Perhaps the Knight was on c5; it was Nxc5 instead of xc5?
My guess is that the white knight took the black knight interference sack instead of taking black's knight with the pawn. This would have left open the 3rd rank fot the queen to drop back and defend the mate.
12:05 - he can defend the f pawn. Kg8 instead of Kg7, then after Rf1 he can play f5, because the pawn isn't pinned.
And btw 13:17 - Be3 isn't so bad, what's more - my Stockfish sometimes even show it as the best move, swapping it with Bf6.
What's worth pointing - 22:08, Bxg7, Nxg7, Nd4 forking the rook and the queen. Game over.
so can I touch my opponent to move him out or is it illegal?
It's legal in chessboxing!
At 20:59 the queen goes through the rook!!!
@ 21:19 NIGHT THE SYMBOL OF BATMAN 3???
surely after Rf5 g4 forks knight and rook?!
Black can just go fxg4 due to en passant
+Nobody Move We don't even know if the position on the screen is correct because of the game score being full of errors XD
at the 35:00 is mark isn't Bg7 mate?
Kxg7
I played with flair altho Ben Simon would say with Rick
lmao hahaha
N🦇3!
how old is Arjun?? :D I bet he's gonna be great, he'd probably beat me xD he sounds about 7^^ but then I think: wait a minute, I can beat 9 year old Carlsen on his chessapp (however accurate that may be ^^) but I think the kid might be a dangerous opponent to me (ya I do suck at chess^^ rated like 1300).
Arjun is two years older than me, but still I'm better. He is generation 2002, and I'm 2004.
I believe that's Arjun Puri who was born in 2008, so he'd be 6 years old when this was filmed.
29:30 things were cooling off. (back to 72)
+wayne miller Oh really (rolls eyes.)
At 7:25 is it a chair or an ass?? :D
Qxg4!!
Beginner Beat down, AKA Ben tries to make sense of nonsense
Sick ben is weird lol
