    First off big respect man for not only tackling on such big projects on your own, but admitting when you messed up. A lot of guys would not post it or just act like they know what their talking about. I respect that a lot. I am also having issues of my own with my lude and it’s all a learning process and makes the ends result that much better. I’ve built a G23 for my 2001 Prelude and after installing it hadn’t touched it in over a month and forgot to put the oil filter on. Stupid mistake, especially wasting almost 5 quarts of royal purple all over my garage floor. I then did the same mistake realizing I forgot to put the oil pressure switch back on and lost another couple quarts of oil. After lots of kitty liter and cursing. I got the engine running. But then i realized my water pump was leaking from its weep hole. Probably when I put the water pump together I damaged the internal bearing. (G23 use a f series water pump but swapped with a h series timing gear) so back to the tools I go to replace that. Anyways good luck and as always, great content. Your mess ups helps others not make the same mistakes. Thanks bro!

      Thanks bro, I appreciate the feedback! Man, it sounds like you went through hell with that motor, one thing right after another. I'm glad you didn't give up on it!
      Its awesome that you and many others are sharing their stories because those are the very same things that could happen to anyone else if we're not paying attention or not too careful. Thanks for sharing bro!

    I did the same thing on my H23a Accord. I swapped it, then the car sat for a year. Finished the swap and started driving it, forgot all about that damn trans fluid. After the trans started making a whining noise I realized it. I added MTF and have kept driving it, but the whine is still there. I actually have 2 4G Prelude Si transmissions. Gearing is a little longer, but still good, not like an F-trans. I would part with one if you need a trans. I think you’re relatively local.

      AHhh mannn, that sucks that we both made the same mistake 😂😂😂 That whining noise has scarred me for life and I swear that my civic is making a similar noise but not as noticeable. Are you near Dallas, TX!? That would be awesome!

    I used to have those same floor mats. Anyways, I havent had many issues with my prelude & I think it is because I keep everything stock mechanically other than coilovers & a CAI which are hard to mess up. I think most prelude owners have problems or "curse" is simply because they are always modding & fiddling with the car. Nothing wrong with that, do you, but I believe that's the reason for the "curse".

    I made a similar mistake. On my h22 Accord. I was so excited about the prelude tranny on there too. I bought a “genuine Honda manual transmission fluid” from eBay. And it fucked up the prelude tranny AND the original accord tranny. My dumbass bought the same fluid thinking I needed to break in the transmission. But the viscosity in the oil seemed like 5w-20 and I later found out that gear oil is way thicker. I should have known when the back of the bottle had no sticker with any information just “genuine Honda manual transmission fluid”

    Welp i got my prelude 2 weekends ago. Had to go through 2 batteries and an alternator the first day 🙂…..trunk latch isn’t secure. If i hit a bump too hard the trunk will pop open. SRS light is on and i have no idea what it means or how to fix it. Brake lights were stuck on so i had to replace the grommet on the pedal. E-Brake light will randomly turn on and off on the dash even though the E-Brake isn’t engaged. So i don’t know how to fix that either. I hear a grinding noise from the rear so I feel like i either need rotors or pads. And to top it all off the AC isn’t really working it blows but it’s blowing hot. Tried to put Freon in it but the reading was already full. So i feel like the Compressor may be the issue. Also when the guy changed the alternator he said he didn’t see a belt running from the Compressor to the Alternator so i may need a serpentine belt. I really don’t even know where to start 🥲. Any help would be great

    • @FlightAce100
      @FlightAce100 2 года назад

      Do you have an aftermarket steering wheel? That will likely cause an SRS light. The E-brake light is actually a common problem, (asside from the e-brake itself) it's supposed to indicate low brake fluid, if your fluid level is fine then it's just a buggy sensor which is nothing major (id remove the light). As for your AC, if your alternator belt doesn't pass through your AC compressor then you wont have AC at all, and somehow have a random belt that fits just to the alternator. Installing the belt that your auto-parts store says should fit will fix that hopefully.

      yeah its the SH trim. You have to remove the ATTS unit before dropping the trans, there are 4 bolts that hold up the ATTS unit, did you remove those?

    ...what no way exact same thing as my rebuiild first the missfire now the trans, i resealed my trans and it leaked thru the bell housing(my fault). im swapping an m2y4 w accord 5th gear that intermediate shaft conversion on the sh block is going to be a mission for us.

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  2 года назад

      this is the second time I heard about the accord 5th gear, why is that something you'd want to do?
      and I think BBalliance makes a block off plate that allows you to bolt up that intermediate shaft

      We all go through it bro. My first car I bought when I was 18yrs old. A 2002 Audi A6 about 15yrs ago. I paid for it myself. Wanted to work on it myself because that’s how my pops raised me. I needed an oil change and accidentally flushed the tranny oil. Flooded the motor with 6 quarts of oil. Paid a guy to fix it and he screwed me. It was an expensive mistake. Now I save money not going to shops. It all catches up.
