My thoughts are this, the media should not report on what the sas are doing in any operation.

Agreed. It should be classified until the MOD say otherwise.

Why does it matter if they were over their they are a secretive unit and are all over the world and train for years and years at least they get to utilize their skills and shouldn't be poked or bothered by the media and public.

@Zach t It matters because, the UN security council resolution specifically states that there should be no 'boots on the ground, whatsoever.
...and no-one's blaming the unit for this; it's the politicians who sent them there, who are subject to criticism over this.

Yeah I was referring more to the yanks, I have noticed that your average quality of solider is much higher in the UK forces than the American forces, or is that just me?

Having special forces on the ground is a precisional and accuracy requirement in order to have airstrikes. As for Nabila Rasvani, its her choice; either you can have an uncontrolled rabble fighting, or soldiers, whos job it is, so the civilians can be organised, and over throw the regime. Which only happened because of SAS/SBS.

I understand what you are saying and largely agree, but the State keeping a tight lid on military ops can lead to cover ups of fuck ups that need to be addressed, illegal conduct and that sort of thing. Like with "collateral murder" something needed to be done about that, but the higher ups just sat on it.

That isn't what I am talking about it, I am talking about covering up illegal operations or war crimes. That "collateral murder" video is a good example, stuff like that needs to be out in the public domain

Nabila Rasvani, SOunds like she wanted her cake and eat it too.. What does she expect too have happened. Why send any kind of support to help the Rebels if you didn't want then to succeed.. She sounds like she really supported the Libian Regime. And of course you say anything you can to keep the fact that you have Special Force in active operations.. this would have compromised their mission, and risked their lives..
