You can run your stitches in between your seems and tie it off with a square knot to finish your stitching runs. It leaves clean finish that will never come apart! You would do yourself a big favor by getting your hands on a stitching pony! Really nice work!! "3MP Custom Leather".
Hey thanks! I hear ya with the stitching pony, I use a smaller one at the moment but am likely going to pick up a Dream Factory Large once I get my new shop up and running!
I recently lined this bag with the spray adhesive you showed. However, the fabric started fraying at the edge while I was stitching. Now, my bag is done, and the cotton fabric is fraying all along the seams. What did I do wrong, and how can I prevent this from happening in other projects? 😢 Your advice is appreciated!
Hey there! Thank you for the kind words! I like to use 1mm Ritza Tiger Thread or 1mm VINYMO unwaxed thread. Both are great and very strong stuff. I’ve yet to have a failed stitch with either of them. Thanks!
So cool! What are the dimensions? I want something like this but smaller! Enough to fit my Tupperware and maybe two travel mugs. For lunch bag purposes. Do you have anything smaller?
Hey there! Thank you! The dimensions are approximately 13 x 10.5 x 6. This fits a thermos and medium Tupperware just right, with space for a laptop or book. A smaller bag we carry is the Hepburn, but it’s less of a rotate and more of a covered purse. Hope this helps!
@@petrichorleather thank you for the information. I went to your website to try to purchase this bag. However none are available this style/size. How can I go about getting one? Thank you for your time
@@sertsert-uz6jn ahh I see! I thought you were making one! It’s likely we sold out for the week if it’s not showing on the site. I’d be happy to put one together for you once I’m back in the shop next Saturday? I’m currently back home in Hawaii for vacation. If you’d like to shoot me over an email to Kelsyn@petrichorleatherco.com, I should have it ready to ship by Monday (10/2). Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
@@petrichorleather I'm still quite new to the selling game, so I haven't started that process yet. It's been more of a hobby for the past few years, but I've started drawing some interest in the things I've been creating lately, so I'm close to taking the plunge into selling. I feel like i should just jump in, but then something tells me to get a few designs perfected before I do that. Not just bags, but guitar straps, wallets, card holders, etc. It's just a really slow process.
Getting ready to buy this pattern on Etsy. Any chance you can tell me what type of leather you’re using here? I’m used to the veg tanned stuff. I like the “bumps” on this material. What is it?
Hey there! Sure thing, the material is oil tanned pebbles full grain hide. I picked up this stuff from Italy a while back so I can’t quite recall the retail name. A lot of places like Weaver or Springfield will sell oil tanned hides with pebble grain like this. I chose Oil Tan because they are much more forgiving in the rain, and this particular article is water resistant :) hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the build!
@@petrichorleather Oh I will. Thank you very much. I’ve got an old flannel shirt picked out for this build. Awesome looking bag. Always take my leather projects to work with me in a canvas shopping bag. Will have a much nicer bag now to carry my stuff in.
Hey Danny! I actually just picked it up from my local Joanns Fabric for just a few bucks a yard. There are also a lot of great sellers on Etsy, but I’m kind of an impulsive buyer when it comes to crafting material so I always have some on hand from Fabric sales :)
So i got the pattern and noticed 2 doted lines going across the top. Is that just hte option to fold over the leather and get a nice look on it as opposed to dieing it etc?
That’s right! It’s not required to punch those dotted lines out, just an option for a rolled edge. It also helps hide the frayed fabric edge of an interior liner
Very nice. I would be proud to carry this bag made by you.
Had my pattern for this quite a while now....... found the perfect sides I wanna use for it finally
Awesome! Hunting down that perfect hide is 90% of the battle!
Wow, great job. That's a very nice bag.
zone34 here!
Finally finished this. Etsy wouldnt let me post the picture but damn! So beautiful!!!!! Came out amazing, thank you again for everything.
That’s awesome! Glad it turned out well!
It's a pretty bag! I'm designing something similar. Great job!
Perfect job, thanks, loadsa ideas.
Absolutely magnificent

What stock paper do you use for the pattern - thank you 🙏
I typically go with 100lb cardstock for reusability, but any paper stock will work for one time use :)

Thank you for the fast reply! Love the pattern, can't wait to finish stitching it together!
Hi. Beautiful bag man. Let me ask you, what's the space between the holes 6mm? And what is the thickness of the leather? Thank you... :)
Hey thanks! Yes the hole distance is 6mm and each hole diameter is 1.5mm. The thickness of these particular leathers are between 4.5oz to 5.5oz.
@@petrichorleather Nice. Thanks for the response... I will get the pattern on Etsy and make it without lining. Great bag.
What are the final dimensions for the bag? Thanks!
Hey there! The final dimensions are 13” x 10.5” x 6”
