couldn’t have said it better myself. I don’t know bass, I kinda know drums, but when his parts come up I just start pretending like I’m playing bass 😂😂😂
I dare anyone call this bass play "busy". This is brilliant musicianship that steps up to allow the bassist to roam the frets freely, picking those perfect notes. These guys are a perfect team, really wanna see them live.
+Ryan Sullivan He's very busy! But he's also BRILLIANT at combing "busy," tasteful, virtuostic-like licks within the context of a song/groove/riff. And therein lies some of Henrik Linder's brilliance. He's set a new precedent for bass pedagogy, not only re: playing AMAZING, IMAGINATIVE bass lines w/n the context of a song, but also during his solos as well. A true phenomenon!
+Robert Kaye Playing lots of notes isn't "busy". "Busy", at least when I have heard it used, refers to when someone adds constant notes that might be considered out of place. Henrik keeps it extremely tight whilst adding movements...you know what, screw it. Maybe it's busy but who gives a crap. It's pure musical genius. He is THE bass player of our time. Numero uno. Jaco part 2.
Actually you're both right in a way. The only problem with true busy playing is when the bassist steps on top on the drummer and the lead instrument trying to make their self noticed, and it always results in a train wreck. The really awesome thing about this trio is every instrument, including the lead's vocal is working extreme overtime which allows Henrik to take up all that space with amazing bass notes. These guys are truly fucking awesome, that's the general consensus lol.
When Aron screams at the end, that's exactly how I feel just listening to them and I've been studying this for well over a year now. I've never said "Wow" so many times in my life every time I hear them. EVERYTHING sounds wimpy after them.
+Bert Berw Glad I saw this band mentioned, well done 👍 Other great musicians on par with this level of musicality include Jack Garratt and Jacob Collier, check them out as well 👌
20 out of 10 for fun, chops and just general amzingness-, how can you even come up with such brilliance?! That laughter and scream are the best!! 😅😂🤣🥲🥲
Getting a little obsessed with this band. The bass is crazy good, and I love how they’re having fun jamming together. A very talented group. God bless 🙏❤️
No bizarre outfits, sexy moves, innuendo BS. Just great musicianship and these guys are an inspiration. They dont brag or make out they are special, just extremely talented guys who make normally boring songs into works of art.
Henrik is one of the nastiest bassist I have ever heard. 1:08-1:30 is absolutely amazing and clean. Listening to the musicianship of Dirty Loops is both refreshing and depressing (Henrik's lines make you want to give up playing the bass). The Drummer, Keys, and Vocals are all off the charts too. Musically, I think Baby, Circus, and Just Dance are as good as music gets today. Thanks for making real music! Keep them coming and I will be the first in line when your CD comes out.
To the lead singer, your vocal is so impressive! I LOVE your runs; you hear some seriously sweet chords in the music and hit just the right notes to compliment them. All of you who are part of this group are amazingly talented musicians, and I appreciate each of you equally. Tell your bass player he is insane and seriously knows how to funk-a-fy his instrument to it's full grove capacity. You are all seriously incredible. Keep it up! -Huge Fan :)
I can't believe how spoiled we are today in regards of sound quality. I remember hearing this back in 2011 and feeling like this was really high def stuff. Amazing how far we've come in such a short time.
One of my favorite albums of old days for those of you who can remember was Gino Vannelli's Brother To Brother album. Look it up. These guys are on that level, they are truly incredible!
this drummer is very influenced by totos jeffrey thomas porcaro, he is using exactly the same fill as him of beginning of this video. jeff plays that same fill at totos - you got me song on 2:08 - 2:12. and of course lot of other fusionbands has taken lots of influences from toto. playing famous covers is an OLD idea but if you do it like this guys. so dirty bassline and that flowing hihat, my god!! dirty, what else can you say?? nothing
Henrik Wigum Fairly certain the mixing engineer is using a drum trigger, like Trigger 2, which lets you get those crazy crisp sounds. It sounds amazing!
The singer/pianist is the audio engineer and mixed the whole thing. Also, the sound is created by using a highly tweaked compressor. This was extremely popular in the 80s and 90s, usually combined with a noise gate after the compressor, I don't hear one of those here though. Don't forget most "triggered" snare sounds start with a real snare. For your health!
12 years later and I'm still here listening to these guys.
me too
I started with this one and never stopped listening after that. They are absolutely the best band ever. And from Sweden too.
Never listen to Dirty Loops first thing in the morning, cause the rest of your day just won't quite measure up.
I jst did today😝
😂🤣😅 ….and you’ll end up having to listen to them for the whole rest of the day :)
Literally facts. I do it every morning tho 😬 😂
Doing now 😂😂
how can you listen to Henrik and NOT make the BASS face? he is unbelievable, outstanding, fantastic and absolutely amazing!
couldn’t have said it better myself. I don’t know bass, I kinda know drums, but when his parts come up I just start pretending like I’m playing bass 😂😂😂

+Ryan Sullivan Yep. I'm assuming the 147 'dislikes' are either kids or Lady Gaga fans who don't like alternative renditions.
+Ryan Sullivan Yep, Linder's amazing for all the reasons you say. Love this turn in pop music.
When I started watching this video I was a musician. By the end of this video I was a mechanic.
When Aron screams at the end, that's exactly how I feel just listening to them and I've been studying this for well over a year now. I've never said "Wow" so many times in my life every time I hear them. EVERYTHING sounds wimpy after them.
Ever heard about Snarky Puppy? Check them out, specially their song called "Lingus".
+Bert Berw Glad I saw this band mentioned, well done 👍 Other great musicians on par with this level of musicality include Jack Garratt and Jacob Collier, check them out as well 👌
+Vashishnaigen lol I was thinking of these bands and then you guys beat me to it. Haha ;)
that scream was the only way to steam off that momentum
20 out of 10 for fun, chops and just general amzingness-, how can you even come up with such brilliance?!
That laughter and scream are the best!! 😅😂🤣🥲🥲
This NEEDS to be uploaded in 1080p! Mainly for the audio quality
Getting a little obsessed with this band. The bass is crazy good, and I love how they’re having fun jamming together. A very talented group. God bless 🙏❤️

incredible. where can we see you guys live?
Wow. This makes me laugh uncontrollably. But in a good way. :-)
You guys are my new favorite band. In fact I haven't found a band I really liked in about 10 years. Very inspiring stuff.
To the lead singer, your vocal is so impressive! I LOVE your runs; you hear some seriously sweet chords in the music and hit just the right notes to compliment them. This never gets old.
And Aron's scream at the end still cracks me up.
That scream at the end is how I end every piece at every gig I do now. It's the only bit of this tune I can play.
Sensacional! Eles são um espetáculo!
I’m still listening to this and this song is a masterpiece 🥁 🎸 🎹
Love this group. Makes me happy.
The talents...it just makes me so envious angry and terrified at the same time...
I can't believe how spoiled we are today in regards of sound quality. I remember hearing this back in 2011 and feeling like this was really high def stuff. Amazing how far we've come in such a short time.
Was just thinking this, things sound incredible now 🤯
