This vid gives me so much confidence to continue coding as a beginner. I love to code. Ever since i started to learn it just feels so right. Appreciate you and Devslopes. The mentor thing is exactly what i need, but don't know where to even find one.

What you said is somehow true. Yes you need a mentor. What I can say is any developer should have a passion for problem solving and enjoy developing solutions. You won't need a job to do that. People pay well for solutions and not for services which they can get from any developer. It's simple, identify a problem that you are passionate to fix then study what languages you need develop the solution then sell it to people who need it in form of subs or one-time payments.

I appreciate seeing pro developers like this giving motivation to beginners. This was so needed. My problem, especially with css is knowing what works for what. If I want to achieve certain things I don't know what I need to declare to make it happen. Would be nice if you can do a video for this. Cheers!!!

Network! There are a lot of hiring managers out there at local meetups and the best currency for getting a modern job is a vouch.
I'm a self-taught career swapper and have an interview Friday (likely won't get ;P), but plenty of leads for once entry level spots open from these networking events.
How many? I've been to around 8 different coding/CS meetup groups in the broader southern California region. Get out there & take control of your future!

I spend now 1 year in learning to code in Berlin, but it’s pretty much impossible to get a „payed“ job for a junior developer here. Even if you find a junior entree level, they usually have „min 5 years of experience“ in their description, which is a medium to senior.
So trust me when I say, just because coding is still a thing in YOUR country, it isn’t a thing world wide.
Here in Germany you basically need a very very good tech stack to even have a chance to get a job. I got a full stack certification on the end, took me hours and hours of coding every single day… jut I got bills to pay, so I am giving up coding tbh and do it as a hobby

I think the true key to success is intellectual property. I am in a field where the only people making real money are the ones who invent their own I.P.. It is reasonable to think that with the help of AI, anyone can code. The result is: Everyone CAN code (they just don't all know it yet). Most especially code because that's one thing AI is especially good at. But if you come up with an original idea for a game or an app, and use AI to help you write it, its still your game. Intellectual Property may be the next or last great land grab. Think of settlers moving westward to get their acreage and build a farm or a ranch. You need to invent your idea and stake out your claim, even if YOU have to use AI to help you. And taking my weird little metaphor a step further, I wonder if there isn't IP out there that you could buy and flip for a profit.

If your main selling point in getting a developer job is "I am an aspiring junior developer," then you're pretty dead in the water. Think what a Jr. Developer means. It means they have to train you and taking precious time away from Sr. Developers just to train you. It also means you need a lot of supervision because you don't know much and cannot contribute a lot to the team right now. When they see your projects , they might see it as too basic, not a lot of complexity, which makes them uneasy to hire and trust you with their tech. Even if they hire you from goodness of their hearts, you might still ended up leaving them in 1 or 2 years for a much more better opportunities. So most employers really think Jr. Developers are risk and provide little value. If you wanna get hired in this tough market, you must address this "Jr. Developer Disadvantages." To get hired, ditch the junior dev as starting point.. Get to mid-level dev first. Make projects that are impressive and shows that you are not a newby. Get a good developer mentor to know your blind spots and how to get to the next level. They are also good source of info on what tech are impressive and what employers are looking for. Dude, this is 2024, not 2015. The days where you can get hired just by showing you can build a simple weather app or To-Do List is over. The bar is much higher. Stop listening to Tech RUclipsrs preaching the same old advice that you can get hired as "Jr. Developer". That's so outdated pre-2020 crap. Be more capable. Be more impressive. And someone out there will be impressed enough to hire you.

I don't know what to say about this infomercial other than I could have spent my time watching an actual tutorial instead. And you compare coding to blacksmithing . . . Wow just wow. If there is one thing that people can learn on their own is anything to do with computers thats not related to cyber security. Anyway, you made a lot of good points at the beginning until you started asking for people's credit card #s. To anyone out there just do it, watch videos, practice, get inspired by other apps or games that you want to mimic, spend the time, really give it a go, if you like it you'll want to do it, it's that simple. Good luck everyone. One last thing, I no longer subscribe to this channel.
