  • I recorded this video 1 month ago, I have done a better recording of the Prelude last week and I will post it soon. Sorry I had to cut pieces, but as you've seen in my bloopers video, nobody's perfect, especially while studying at home!!! • I love BLOOPERS!!! :)
Stay tuned for a better Toccata and for the Sarabande (2), since I have to play them in 3 weeks for a concert I need to study them intensively...and then i'll post the video of the concert!!! :)

I like this very much.I think you play better than Robert Casadesus(my favourite pianist for twenty years). He always said his wife played better than him in these french music. The rhythm is perfect.

Actually, a Sostenuto pedal is common both on grand pianos and upright pianos. Lesser quality instruments may not have them. For example, "gray market" pianos or lower cost uprights; they are not unique to grands only. This recording is done on a Yamaha grand.

@Swimdarkenigma0 I assume since she's playing a grand piano shes using the middle pedal (sostenuto pedal) that only sustains the notes you select while not affecting any other keys you play, as a result that low "A" can ring while the other keys are staccato. The middle pedal however, is only present on grand pianos.

Era da molto che non sentivo questi due pezzi per piano di Debussy. Brava :)
PS: anche io suono il pianoforte ma una tecnica decente me la scordo XD

oh wow i didnt know that i thought that upright pianos only had the middle pedal that sustained only the lower notes or a pedal that significantly dampened the sound for use in apartments (so not to disturb neighbors lol) but hey if you've seen one i cant argue with that.

Do you use the sustaining pedal for the low A for the left hand?

hi. you played very beautifully. not to be a an annoying, "tight-ass" youtube commenter, and i know this video is 2 years old, so you've already performed Pour le Piano, im guessing, but....
in the prelude, in mm. 46, 50, 122, and 126, you add D sharps to those chords, where there should just be D naturals. Really, really small thing but thought you should know. It just caught my attention as I was reading through my own score trying to learn these pieces. Im sure Debussy wouldve still loved it.

I suggest you more...how can I say...tempoic glissando. Too many delay and I don't think it is way of Debussy. And I suggest you one more...study about Type A rubata that Liszt said: "The leaves moved by wind, but root was still." It is not criticize, I "suggest" you.
