K so you got PF and Spokane falls but what about upriver, nine mile, long lake, and finally little spokane falls dams all on the same river. Yeah it's a lot of driving but it'd give us all the full experience.

Awesome video! I've seen the Spokane River at very high stages, but never THAT high! Very captivating. I grew up in Spokane, then returned for a few years, but now I live on the East Coast, where my biggest thrills come in the forms of hurricanes, N'or Easterners, and tropical storms. I spent a lot of my time in Riverfront Park as well as Riverside State Park. My cousins, friends, and I used to put in the Spokane River just below the falls and ride the river all the way past Riverside State Park. In inner tubes! (We were far more adventurist than smart.) We also went inner-tubing along the Spokane River in the Spokane Valley, which was also fun, but not nearly as thrilling as going through the Bowl and Pitcher and points upriver in an inner tube. We did a lot of other very adventurist activities in the Pacific Northwest, often pushing safety (and sanity) boundaries.

That is highest I remember seeing the river as well! Very powerful. I've never floated the Spokane, but it sounds like fun. Thanks for the comment and I hope you're not being affected too badly by all the recent storms back east.

Andrew Baden, Thank You. We have been lucky thus far this hurricane season, as all tropical systems have either been fairly weak, or just gave us a glancing blow. It looks like Hurricane Maria will do the same thing. We have had tropical storms and hurricanes in recent years that have dropped up to 18 inches of rain within a 24-hour period. I cannot even imagine what that would do to the greater Spokane area. But here, it is not that big of a deal in most locations. But one day, we will get "the big one" and Tidewater Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina will be in huge trouble. With Norfolk, we have the world's largest naval base, as well as many seven other big Navy bases in the nearby cities of Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown and other locations, Langley Air Force Base, Army bases, Marine Corps bases, and Coast Guard bases as well. Southeast Virginia has, by far, the greatest number of military bases and military personnel in the United States. And Newport News, Virginia is the only ship builder in the United States that has the capability to build the huge aircraft carriers that the United States Navy has (11 of them), and which I have served onboard two, as well as other ships. The day that the big hurricane does bear down on us, we will be in big trouble, because it will be so difficult to evacuate this area, because of all the tunnels and bridges in the area. In the meantime, this is a terrific, very patriotic place to live. I don't care for the heat and humidity in the summer, but at least we have many beaches. But I really miss all the lakes and rivers in the greater Spokane area. Great fishing!

Spokane river is very strong. Beautiful yet very violent, and clean. I drank the water lots of times. Clear pure

At the end where it says that rivers run into the sea the river is shown running backwards towards the mountains.

Hi Frank. The backwards river was just for effect, I thought it looked pretty cool. The verse, Ecclesiastes 1:7, is nice because it captures the essence of the hydrologic cycle in one sentence. Isaiah 55:10 is another good one.

Your not rafting anything like this. It would be deadly.
