I find the Fulmar very roomy inside - I am 6ft tall so need the headroom. It's on the heavy side compared to some similar sized yachts (very solid lay-up!) so not happy with very light winds but get 10knts plus and she picks up her skirts - she has quite a tall rig so is quite fast for a cruiser but she is also very safe in a big sea. I don't regret buying her!
I had some fishing line entangled around the prop. Turned out it and a previous entanglement had loosened the rope cutter which was creating a racket when motoring so I stopped the motor but then became becalmed in strong adverse currents. Well’s Harbourmaster volunteered their lifeboat which was then approved by coastguard.
Thanks Derek. They look a bit special. Was looking at Colvic (Watson) 32. Have included Fulmars in my range too.

@@derekhathaway Thats a double bit of bad luck. I am enjoying your post
I set off from the Exe on 22nd April 2021 - soon after we were given permission to launch and after I’d had my second Covid vaccination!
What's the boat please?
HI Paul, it's an early Westerly Fulmar bilge keel. Built in 1980 but well looked after, much upgraded, and still going strong!
