Great video fella's recon this is going to be a good one to watch, loved the part where you said were just going to make a cup of coffee and tea, but the coffee was ok but the tea wasn't weak it was probably a fortnight, can't believe people still put milk in a cup either with the tea bag or pop the tea bag into hot milky water, the tea flavour will never come out and will never look like a cup of tea, But at least the beer looked good, can see it now in coming weeks beer cheese and jacobs crackers with a jar of olive, not to mention raw onion and Branston's pickle. look forward to your next episode and perhaps some good fishing, feeling envious now.

as an expat living in the States I was thrilled to find your channel, and at Episode 1! I usually come across the sailing vlogs when they are 4 years old and I start from the beginning to watch their journey and process. So questions: who are you? What do/did you do for work and why now? Why this trip? What is your boat? and anything else as an introduction. I miss Old Blighty so I am thrilled to be with you on this journey!!! We have a Pearson 31-2 and sail in the New York Bight and in the BVI. Fair winds chaps, see you next time!
Hello Pauleen. We are two brothers who grew up in Barry South Wales and we love sailing. We used to sail mirror dinghies in penarth yacht club as children our dad had a boat there. About 10 years ago we bought a 22 foot sailing boat and slowly worked our way up to a rival 34 named Atlas the boat we have now. We both work in retail and live aboard saving every penny for our adventures 👍

Thanks for the video, I look forward to many more....it reminds me of being towed into Milford Haven, one dark stormy night in 1980, on my 30 ft sailboat. Thanks to Tenby lifeboat, and crew. I was a complete novice sailor of 22 years old. Since then I have sailed many, many thousands of miles on many boats, over the years without incident. There was nothing more challenging than the weather and waters around the UK..Good Luck and fair weather..
Hi Guys, just found you tonight (Friday) just popped up , I’m from Llanell but living in Northern Ireland (Coleraine) on the Causeway (you’ll have to check it out ) use to live in Tenby and used work on the Caldey boats , the sandy bay you guys anchored by was once used by the pirate captain cook when he wanted to hide from the power to-be back in the day, (well before the monks was there) anyways hopefully you’ll have a fabulous time on your travels and I’ll be watching you every inch of the way wishing you all the best. Tony
Hello Tony thank you for for.the message that is very interesting history. We would have liked to visit northern Ireland but what the covid restrictions prevented us. A new episode will be released every Sunday 6 p.m. on RUclips. I hope you enjoy the series please share thank you 👌🙏

Ah, this is what we've been waiting for, some real world sailing. we'll be following your adventures with interest .. this voyage is on the bucket list so don't be afraid of adding useful detail to those coming after you chaps. How long do you estimate it will take and could you give us some of your background info on the boat and yourselves, how you've managed to get the free time to do something like this for example? Goodluck from 2 fellow Cardiff bay sailors.

Just started to follow your travels and am starting from your first trip . Funny thing I live in nova Scotia and keep my boat on the Milford Haven river at the Guysborough marina and your just sailing into the Milford Haven. Enjoying your travels so at the first you said you both worked in a grocers store how did you two ever save enough to buy such a nice boat ?
Hey Lance. You're starting from the very beginning, hope you enjoy the first series. Didn't realise they had a Milford haven in Nova Scotia. We were living on board our 27 ft vessel in a marina and working as many hours as we could to save as much money as we could to afford a small Bluewater cruiser and start the adventures. Cold damp winters but all worth it
@@TheSailingBrothers currently I run a 22ft fiberglass boat with outboard set up for open deep water fishing with a cuddie. But I'm looking more and more at moving over to a off shore cruiser of an older age . We sail right out of the river mouth out into the bay and into the north Atlantic. The first permanently inhabited fishing village in north America lies on our bay a place called canso. I've crossed the Atlantic Ocean many times when I served as member of the Canadian navy and all ways have wanted to sail offshore. Keep up the great travels and content .
Looking forwards to following your adventures boys. Great video, love the rawness and honesty. Who needs the Med or the Caribbean? Give us a message when you reach the Solent and we will come out for a sail with you and shout you a beer or two. 😃

Awesome, a good friend of mine recommended this channel, glad he did. I am slightly jealous. I will be sailing from Lisbon to Fleetwood in the next week solo, well with Hector the Labrador. He is rubbish though. Can’t even tie a bowline 😁
Just stumbled on your channel. Nice and refreshing to see a different format, plenty Carling, and no bikinis (please 😄). Enjoy your trip, and look forward to the next videos.
Love the boat, she's very well set up and in lovely condition, a great example of how good older boats can be if they're shown some love. Have a great trip lads, I'll be following for sure...
I think I prefer older boats because I believe they are built to last and strong. We have put a lot of time and and money into this boat to make her what she is today. 👍
Oi! Greetings from Bellingham, Washington. Is that a Sailomat wind vane? Keep an eye out for Joe Strummer`s message in a bottle. Its should be floating around out there somewhere...
Hello SVT otter greetings. We have a Neptune wind vane it's a British model we only just fitted it a couple of months ago and it's fantastic. We will keep an eye out for the message in the bottle lol
Looking forward to the adventure. I have sailed most of your route (no Cape Wrath though) in years past but I’m stuck far from my boat till Covid is solved. Cheers.
@@TheSailingBrothers I’ll preface this note with the fact that any recommendations that I make are from my own cruising style and may not fit your style. That said you guys seem to be taking a proper amount of time to do your cruise so that bodes well. The east coast of Ireland is much preferable to the west coast of England for making your way north. Many of the small towns along the coast provide good stops. And it is a very friendly place. Waterford is an interesting stop up the River Suir with spots to anchor on the river and if you do go into town the docking can be tricky given the River current but it puts you in the centre of town - famous for the glassworks of course. We spent a week in Dublin but that was back when you could stay at the city docks which I think are gone now. Strangford Lough can be a nice anchorage but watch the tides entering and leaving as they can be VERY strong. Belfast is a good stop as the Belfast harbour marina puts you right beside the Titanic museum and right in town - the museum is excellent. I’ll leave it here for now, not sure how quickly you will move along. Scotland is of course just the best for cruising and if you like fresh mackerel you should be set. I’ll send you more as you move along if you are interested.
Milk goes in after its brewed and teabags out. Apart from that, great vid 👌🏻
Thanks lol 👍
I'm starting over! I notice your style is quite consistent, biggest change today is your tan and confidence.

Thanks bertie welcome aboard if you like the episodes please share it will mean a lot 😃 hope you get to sail around the UK one day 👍
Thanks for the video, I look forward to many more....it reminds me of being towed into Milford Haven, one dark stormy night in 1980, on my 30 ft sailboat.

How long do you estimate it will take and could you give us some of your background info on the boat and yourselves, how you've managed to get the free time to do something like this for example? Goodluck from 2 fellow Cardiff bay sailors.
Hello Russell thanks for commenting welcome aboard Atlas. Episode 2 is coming out on Sunday evening 6 o'clock. We try to put a little bit of everything in our episodes sailing to charts equipment nice anchor in spots etc.

Thanks very much John
Thanks we are super pleased with the response 😁 definitely up for a couple of 🍻

I live in barry boys, loving your videos!! My question is, what charts program and AIS/GPS do use?
Keep the videos coming too
All the best
Hi Thomas from Barry

Hi both, you just popped up online lol, love boats and the sea so have subscribed. Looking forward to watching the other videos. Moved to Penarth from Roath in December and love it. Good luck both and stay safe 😃 Deb

Good luck on your trip guys I’ll be watching all your vids 👍
I was moored near you in penarth last year 33ft aquabell
I’ll be sailing my new boat back from Scotland sometime in coming weeks I might see you 👍👍
Hi there thanks for subscribing and watching our content much appreciated. It's always exciting getting a new sailing boat we might cross paths 👍
Awesome, a good friend of mine recommended this channel, glad he did. I am slightly jealous. I will be sailing from Lisbon to Fleetwood in the next week solo, well with Hector the Labrador. He is rubbish though. Can’t even tie a bowline 😁
Really glad you subscribed 👍
We hope you have a fantastic sail, fair winds and safe passage. Hector the dog, what a nice name. As long as he can cook!
He can't, but he can eat. And fart 😁
Looking forward this this. Cardiff based myself and can't wait to get up the channel with my brother 😁.
Thanks Barney a fellow cardiffian can't beat sailing in the Bristol channel 👍
Just stumbled on your channel. Nice and refreshing to see a different format, plenty Carling, and no bikinis (please 😄). Enjoy your trip, and look forward to the next videos.
We film everything warts and all 👍 thanks very much hope you enjoy the rest of the episodes
awesome episode with the lads! socks hanging and crates of carling essential for any expedition
Thank you rob every boat should have a washing line in inside! And of course Carling 👍👌😃
Love the videos and the music accompaniment. Keep them coming boys, stay safe, make the most of it and enjoy!
Thanks very much Bob
Good luck lads
Thanks very much 👌
Just found you guys! Subbed right away! Happy for you both! Exciting! Your shots are awesome!!
Thank you very much please share. A new video will be uploaded every Sunday 6 p.m. welcome aboard!! 👍🙏
@@TheSailingBrothers Will do! Thank you!! :-)
Looking forward to the adventure. I have sailed most of your route (no Cape Wrath though) in years past but I’m stuck far from my boat till Covid is solved. Cheers.
Welcome aboard John if you have any advice and tips we would greatly appreciate it. Hope you get to go out sailing soon 😁
Fair winds gents.
Thank you Phil
You too
Well it started with some really S**t beer in the back ground ;) but ended a fascinating snap shot of the coast of this once great country.
Thanks for your comment it made me laugh. 👍
Looks like you won't run out of beer the first couple of days. That's assuming you can call Carling beer - which is kind of dubious!
Hello Tyler thank you for watching the videos we bought Carling because it's cheap not for the taste hahaha.
@@TheSailingBrothers 😊👍
Great video 😄
