I watched this today, I liked how the movie progressed, However I was so dissapointed over the Ending. I watched over 2 hours for that??.... they also gave off the feeling that the Ghost somehow was going to help the wife, then she didn't! What was the point of the wooden ring?, nothing. I was very annoyed with the ending. They really coukd have made this a very good movie. Also who was the young girl that the husband was having an Affair with?, what was her connection to the Boys??..... the ending was very dissapointing!
Thanks for the review I love watching you guys before watching a movie, even though they're spoiler reviews they still help me out alot to determine if I will consider a movie or not.
Unfortunately, the film didn't ultimately work for me, mainly due to some of the melodramatic elements and the slow pacing (and I normally don't mind slow-burn horror movies). But I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! I did think that Amanda Seyfried was very good, and her performance was one of the better things about this movie. I also agree that even in movies she's in that as a whole aren't that good, she's usually on-point and she gives it her all. I hope to see her in some more horror movies soon. Great review!
At the end George isn’t being swept up into a painting that his cousin did. It is the cover of the book about heaven and hell and the end the women spirits along with Catherine sending George into the upside down version of the book meaning they sent him to literal hell.
Which explains the whole ‘dammed’ thing too! I actually really liked the ending. I would’ve also loved to have seen Justine ruin George’s life and tell the cops everything.
This movie was supposedly set in the 80s, and I find the lack of frizzy 80s hair and big shoulder pads more disturbing than the actual movie. One star.
Love love loving this channel AND THAT T-SHIRT Nic !!! I've actually wanted all the T-shirts you've worn in the 4 uploads I've managed to binge watch thus far to night, I've many more to get through on the playlist that I've made out of your uploads I'm hooked Cheers for keeping this bored hemiplegic entertained so greatly...now I've found you guys (sounds like I'm writing corny POLYAMOROUS song 😜 cheers from Queenslands Gold Coast Australia
This movie was pretty bad but Amanda Seyfried made it watchable for me. The ending didn't really work for me. They didn't explain how the previous occupant's kids survived as the father drugged them and "gassed" the house, just like this time the daughter survives but has no parents.
Joseph, when you sipped that wine I was like "why am I not drinking?" then I realize it's 1:00pm central and I'm still working. That's a good way to have me re-watch tonight before the movie. LOL.
I prefer to call this “Things Heard Off-Screen”. Most of the deaths we don’t see and so much detail is told to us or implied rather than shown. But it wasn’t bad.
I really enjoyed this movie up until the ending, I loved how you could tell what kind of guy George was just by him hitting on a girl (who was probably the same age as his students) by acting all cocky about knowing something about some artist. I loved all the people (especially the women) who kept calling him out for his shitty behavior and not putting up with his shit. Seriously, in way too many movies he would be the misunderstood broken man who just needed his wife's love to fix him, I'm glad this film didnt do that. I loved the characters, they felt like real people or like someone I'd want to know. I love how Cathrines story was quietly built up as a repressed catholic girl who married this guy bc she got pregnant and was too busy worrying about the kid to notice much else. I loved how despite her ED she wasnt treated by the script as incapable and untrustworthy. I love how George is quickly but not forcibly revealed to be an abusive asshole, and then the further subtle reveal he killed someone and stole their identity. Just so much of this movie had me like yes Yes YES. Then the end happened. I thought maybe Catherine would try to throw up the protein shake with the sedative in it, no. I thought maybe the ghost would help her, no. They didnt even give us the satisfaction of seeing George arrested for murdering his wife, they just killed him out at sea. They didnt even have to have Justine have the vision of Cathrine dying, she couldve just told the police about her suspicions and run ins with George because the officer definitely knew he did it. It was just so good then they had to ruin it with the very end.
Did you see the real Annabelle doll in the movie ?? Is around 1:30 minutes when they are in a bed together and doll is left in the corner of the screen.
So I watched this movie after seeing this review I thought the movie was interesting it was pretty good . Since I’ve started watching you guys I like binge watch your play lists lol
This movie ain't 'What lies benieth'. (It's a hot mess lol) Edit: The actors still make this movie watchable, esp. Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) and James Norton (all the drama ;) ). To quote that this is 'a demented soap opera', going with that attitude you can have a good time.
Hey guys...you totally missed that he likely KILLED his cousin on the boat just like his boss!!! HINT FREAKING HINT YALL!!! Also notice the hateful homophobic comments by his father whom he wants to impress. Him following his boss to the boat was the movie giving you big giant arrows as to what he had done in the past.
So many things wrong with this basic writing. What was the point of the spirit ho revealing herself if ultimately she couldnt protect the girl. But slamming doors and shit. Then why attempt to murder a woman just to not make sure shes actually dead, even after you realize shes in the hospital still alive. Why would she pack up and leave during a time she knew her husband would be otw home??? What was the point of the basic ass ending. I wanted to see what happens. It got so corny with him morphing with the painting. I was so annoyed I smoked a blunt. I'm tired of the basic white girl story line who consistently needs to be saved but stays on bs. I was ready for her to die because I wouldnt have been that damn fragile. Like it couldnt have been a black woman. Also black people take spirits serioulsy so white horror always falls flat for me. They're the only ones who handle shit like this in real life. Always going towards the danger and not away 🙃 BASIC
I enjoyed this film. The end didn't leave me feeling fulfilled. George needed to be seen getting his just desserts!
Scariest part is when he held Justine's hands and wouldn't let go. "Do you really want me to let go?" ewwwwwwww.

I personally found the ending to be so beautiful and memorable. It was sort of out of left field (not many special fx) but didn't feel silly.

Lol i agree and the dialogue was horrible. You guys are right it feels like a soap opera.

Harvest Home and the Stepford Wives, two of my fav books and movies!
Great review. Made me want to check the movie out this weekend. As always thanks for posting. Much love

Great review...I heard about this one other day. I need to see this on Netflix. Thanx, guys🎞🍿

This film was terrible for me, like a TV movie from the early 2000s
i was sooo bored
Another great review!!
Did you see the real Annabelle doll in the movie ?? Is around 1:30 minutes when they are in a bed together and doll is left in the corner of the screen.
The "real" Annabelle doll was just a regular Raggedy Ann doll, and there's plenty of films with those.
It's "RAY" Seahorn. You would want to know.
I was so into this movie until the last 20 minutes. The end pissed me off so bad it ruined the whole movie.
So I watched this movie after seeing this review I thought the movie was interesting it was pretty good . Since I’ve started watching you guys I like binge watch your play lists lol
3:23 A let's not forget the quintessential Thir13en Ghosts👻💩👻💩👻💩

Ok now I’m ready to watch it.. lol
You guys make such good videos hope I can be like you guy’s someday
Yeah I liked this movie. Didn’t have the best ending though.. wish we could have seen George get arrested..
The movie was spoiled from the beginning.
I think the movie was amazing.
Sigourney weaving. The teacher should have been named Hugo..#priscellaqueenofthedesert
Sorry for being so superficial, Idk where my mind was during this review but all I can say is that Joseph has gorgeous hands lol
Why thank you
