"There's no way that black lady is washing her hair on the first day of camp" You better let them know! 😂🤣😂🤣
What are you talking about🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
This is the best read I have seen.
@@Zombina638 you must not have 4C hair 😌 stay in your lane, babe.
Right lol
"This movie didn't give me anything I needed" is the most succinct line I have ever heard in a review.
"I think they looked like if they had stepped off a Chilean production of an Ann Rice novel." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
that was my favorite line ........."fruit pie" was my 2nd favorite line heehee
"They refer to Gabriel as "The Forbidden Fruit"..... chile y'all can keep that fruit, it was rotten to me" 😩😫😭😭😭 help
And, I totally agree!! There's no way that a guy that hot, would have wanted that long haired queen. The coach or a better looking guy in that role would have made more sense.
Though maybe they did it on purpose as in having him not be a hottie, might make the audience feel less bad about the killer bumping him off.
Lmao @ there’s no way this black woman would wash her hair the first day of camp! Speaking as a black woman if that’s not the *truest* fact in any movie review, and it’s so refreshing and hilarious that someone would actually mention that.😄
Not every black person
@@Zombina638 It’s not offensive. If you’re black, you would know we only wash our hair like 1-2 times a week. 3 at most, lol.

The way Gabe walked into the water towards the swimmer I thought was hilarious, as if he was walking down a runway. I don’t get how Bacons character thought this place worked if most of the staff were gay themselves?
"Kerry Washington school of acting" "he came. he succumed" You guys kill me n the best way!
How Gabriel just allowed to get his cheeks parted like the Red Sea and still get extra dips in that cookie jar
At the end when the police get to the cabin and are walking in with their guns drawn, how do they know the killer isn't Jordan who is just walking out of the cabin not even putting their hands up in surrender? They all walk right by them.
This bothered me too.
You two have made my love of film grow exponentially. Not only can I enjoy quality films but now the campy/crunchy movies have been elevated by reviews like this. I don't literally LOL often (more of a chuckle silently to myself) but I did audibly laugh at the Kerry Washington, Chilean Anne Rice, forbidden fruit, and succame moments. Love your content and THANK YOU for sharing with us!
Chile Joseph’s description of Gabriel had me rolling on the floor 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️y’all
"Y'all can keep that fruit."
this movie was not it. Thank you for keeping it real with the review. Been seeing some reviews and you can tell they are walking on eggshells so they dont get " cancelled" This movie was probably the worst written movie I've seen in a long time.
Just feel like this Movie was afraid to go there for real. It wasn't what it was sold to be, while being just slightly what it was sold to be. Won't even talk about the Dry Hump Scene; that was the most creepy thing in the entire Movie.
Oh, and I suspected Molly was the Killer as soon as she gave Alexandra her Pills; and KNEW that she was after the Pictures Scene with Jordan.
Lmfaoooo the "forbidden fruit" was rotten. Hahahaha I'm cackling.
At 4:30, Nick mixed up "28 Days" (the Sandra Bullock rehab movie) and "28 Days Later" ( the zombie(ish) movie), and I just fell OUT 😂. I'm still interested in watching the movie eventually, but thanks to your review, I'm not going to rush.
I do this all the time 😂
The whole Gabriel gay trap reminds me of that South Park episode where the undercover cop actually has sex with his johns to "trap" them. 🤣🤣🤣 This movie sounds like a bad mess, poor Kevin Bacon and Anna Chlumsky...how did they get roped into this? I hope they got paid well at least. Thank you for the very entertaining review, gentlemen!
Exactly what I was thinking about with the South Park reference! Lol
STRETCH!
"You're burned, bitch!" had me rolling. I am addicted to your reviews.
Wash Day is always traumatic. 🤣🤣🤣
I thought the killer was going to be a non binary gay child of Kevin Bacon that was deformed from the electroshock therapy.
That would have been a twist
I love how knowledgeable you two are. And I love how you tell it like it is.
Great review and honest af as always. I think you need to write a script with Nick, Joseph. You have great instincts. I know you are busy but a suggestion ❤️
Oh this was EVERYTHING i needed. Such a fun review and as always josephs shade is hilarious and most importantly is accurate. I did hear that the ones to die would be the campers so im happy that wasnt the case.
13:20 absolutely using succame in the future 🤣 thank you so much for these reviews, they’re deeply engrossing, and your dynamic is chef’s kiss
"The Kerry Washington School of Acting." 🤣
The biggest problem with this movie is that there is absolutely zero tension because you know right from the very beginning that the killer is only targeting the villains, and it doesn't help that none of the kids are acting at all scared or worried about what's gonna happen to them. The kids are all aggressive and snarky and the councillors don't even know people are dying until basically everyone is dead, so there's never a chance to build any sense of tension. We're just supposed to be scared because the setting is in the spooky woods and there's a scene where a dog gets shot.
I had planned on getting Peacock. Thanks for saving my coins 🏳️🌈
Beavis and butthead Do the Universe will be worth your time if you decide to watch that.
I thought peacock was free???? I've got a free version that's like all different channels, crime, action. documentaries, etc. There must be films you can buy or whatever?????
@@cobrakaicyberdon They also have two paid subscriptions as well.
@@snipesentertainment9037 thats Paramount, not Peacock. And I agree!
I HATE Mainstream Gay Men Media for the most part…. I prefer Indie All The Way…. There’s a Gay Slasher Called Hellbent…. A serial killer stalking Gay Boys during Halloween in LA…. Low budget but I HAS CHARM!…. And hot dudes….
Love to watch your videos! Thank you for all the post
I laughed out loud so many times this episode my stomach hurts!😂🥰🤣
Keep up the great work y’all!!!
Love you two!
Love that Monty Clift reference. If this were to have a serious tone focusing on the topic itself it would have been a serious horror film.
Y’all make my day each time 😂
This had some moments. I love what it wants to say. "I don't need saving" kinda works for me. The delivery could have been less cheesey.
I know what they were going for. I guess I will call them our final person because there's no blanket for the word hero. Our final was a little too adjusted. A little too self-realized. But I could be wrong because I am not Trans.
A little nitpick. They missed an opportunity when they referred to Jason and the Friday the 13th movies. They should have said Angela.
honestly I'm surprised they let anything the therapist said get to them. If anything i expected a trans person on HRT to be more confident and see through the thinly veiled hateful comments.
Listening to what you both "got" out, from what was written, like here - always fills the 'lost gap' in my mind! "This movie didn't give me anything I needed." Oh, Joseph! LOL! That got me! Maybe, this subject matter didn't have an expert on board - but, the writers went ahead with the generic/safer horror genre? Are the writers 'simplifying' this 'issue' of, "as an individual, you're not fitting-in? Even, in "your chosen group" so, here, let us "sort you out" by compartmentalizing everyone further! Liked your views!
I was hoping you guys did a review!
succame is officially a part of my vocabulary
There should be a film that delves into gender and ungendered identifying people regarding our need to place people into those boxes you mentioned. Such rich material and a missed opportunity.
I watched this last night. Overall I enjoyed the movie, but everything you pointed out is accurate. Up until the killer killed the handyman, I thought the same thing that this would be a slasher film where the "conversion" strategy was to kill the campers if they did not act the right way.
The scene at 14:00 was scary, and actually got me shook. Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that scene was probably the best one in the movie, and if they ran with that dreadful feeling it might of been a better movie.
Sorry to put this what-if into people's head, but imagine if Jordan Peele wrote and directed this movie, and had more of a "Get Out" vibe. I think we would of had a serious hit that we couldn't forget.
I’ve had heartburn scarier than this movie .
The best review of this shitty film..hands down. Joseph cracks me up every time 😂
Great Review. Ah I was hoping this was good. But somehow your review makes me want to watch it still! Aha
Another great review guys! ❤️
The first kill is exactly like original kill in Friday the 13th… a counselor was trying to find her way to camp and killed by unseen person before she gets there…who is a revealed in big surprise at the end. The set up seems very interesting but poorly executed. Has there ever been a serious film on the topic… the camps seem extremely dangerous to a person’s mental and physical health. I had thought the theories had been proven to not work and be harmful.
Yall took me out with this one you guys are too funny I wish I could watch movies with wine with you two talking about lit 🤣🤣
Love you guys!
Child you can keep that FRUIT 🤣
It was Rotten to me!!
"they don't get you to a happy ending and say you're burned bitch" nick for the win😂😂 😂
John Logan pitching this: "But I'm A Cheerleader but play it straight" (no pun intended...)
In Friday the 13th the first person killed is a new hire driving to the camp. Might have been a call back.
This movie would have been ok without he killer part conversion therapy is scary enough
John Logan should have hired you guys to help out with the script
There's a good version of this movie out there. Its a book called Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle. Chuck Tingle is writing straight up horror was a treat.
The breakout musical had me rolling my eyes. 🙄
Yeah that was really stupid. They are playing mind games with us, but let's have a group sing along, like everyone there knew the words to that song. I would not have had a clue.
I enjoy your videos......mainly cause Joseph is "very nice eye candy" :) But enjoy both of your opinions on the movie reviews as well. Thank you. :)
Kevin bacon already did the sadist
Role in sleepers which is far more brutal.
Seems like a fake Sleepaway Camp.
Just started watching this channel. Are the hosts a couple, or just friends?
They're married! 🌈💖
@@yanderelemming awww that's cute. Also kinda disappointing, because I was totally thinking of starting a movie channel with my nerdy boyfriend, but it looks like these two have already cornered the market, and I don't want to be biting their style lol
@@chriswelter3859 nooo lol! I just found their channel from this video (& i love it!!!) but it made me want to do the same thing with a future girlfriend!! I think there should def be more channels where gay couples review films or other media or whatever. Go for it!!
Where did you guys get the name fish jelly
It’s a play on the lyrics from the song Bootylicious - “I don’t think you’re ready for fish jelly.”
@@fishjellyfilmreviews ohhhhh I always thought they said “this jelly” lol love you guys 🥰
Hi guys!
Hi
3 really good things about this movie, the title They Slash Them play on words, Kevin Bacon (no further explanation necessary and the opening scene. Everything else, mediocre and I hated the dog scene as an animal lover.
Haven't watched but this review had me cackling 😭
Yea it takes a certain kind of imagination to write horror that’s good. Even if they are good writers. This concept could have been better.
Well the movie made me laugh a lot so that's a positive for me, and it had some flamboyant characters, especially the black dude with the hat. 😂😂😂
please review the upcoming Harry Styles films ....Don't Worry Darling ........and My Policeman when they come out
I’m sure we will.
The casting agent should be fired because the acting in this is more horrendous than the crimes that take place in this shit movie! Bad story, bad acting, too focus on the inclusion aspect that the writer seems to have forgotten that they were writing a fucking horror movie ,not a lifetime drama! Too many corny speeches!
So 1984 AHS
Lesbian horror movie What Keeps You Alive is a much better movie.
Nothing anti-gay about it. But a married female couple go a cabin in the woods,
one wife finds out the other is a homicidal maniac.
What's strange about They/Them is the director/screenwriter has written some quality
scripts, like Gladiator & Bond movie Skyfall, Penny Dreadful horror series.
It's because he's just trying to check off a box to show he's in "The-In-Crowd" as well. And unfortunately that's why the movie is crap! He's trying too hard with this one!
great video! 🌞
🐡🐠🐟🍓🫐🍒
"He should've been the trap!" 😩well yes, my God this review is so quotable like kinda can't stop watching it smh 😅
20:24 You guys should just be movie writers! 🤣🤣🤣 That does sound like a good movie!
I thought the title is called “They Slash Them” 😆🙈
We didn’t realize that until after the fact.
But I’m a Cheerleader is much better than this mess of a film ❤️
The marketing was such, and the camera they chose, and the fact that it was on Peacock all caused me to think this was a TV show or a series. It didn't feel like a movie trailer. It was too succinct and permeated so many RUclips videos as promos.
10:30 i can't 🤣
Isn't it pronounced They slash them? Kind of like a play on words. Either way I have no desire to see this, watching you 2 review it is way better, lol.
Yes, we missed that.
I know this is old, but watch a lot of your content and I hear you refer to this movie and you always say “they, them” but the title is supposed to be “they slash them”, it’s a pun, like slash as in to stab😂😂😂 that’s all, just had to get that off my chest, thank you
Yes, we realized after the video was published.
@@fishjellyfilmreviews ok😂😂 Just was the only clever part of the film, didn’t want it to go unknown!! Cary on💕
Low-hanging fruit pie joke.
Slingblade OMG
I loved this train wreck of a movie so much
I will stick to But I Am a Cheerleader ….. first time a say RuPaul out of drag….. and introduced me to Chick Habit!….
❤❤
I enjoyed this movie
The way you talk about this movie sounds like a sleepaway camp remake with Angela.
This is one of the funniest reviews I’ve ever seen LOL yeah this movie was a hot mess 🤪
I wash my hair almost everyday, so it’s possible… Wash n go…
I hoped this movie would be good but I knew it couldn't possibly be
also, the cast is full of genuinely LGBTQ+ people who deserved better
It's not just gay conversion therapy. It's trans conversion too.
I was excited about this movie since it was first announced. Unfortunately it was a major disappointment. 1.5 / 10
Agreed, a shocker ..waste of time
Jeez I was watching another review of this from a girl or guy not sure, but they were going on about how beautiful Gabriel was hahha I was like what the hell. He looks weird
a little MTV Scream, a little Hulu Nine Perfect Strangers...love kevin bacon, but not this character.
Brooo..🤣🤣. Wtf is even this movie😂😂. Great review, yet🤣🤣. I'd watch it just for the laughs from the horrible/campy acting.
I just watched Them/They and I agree that this movie was not great, but, it wasn't bad either.
Kevin Bacon and this group of camp instructors start off seeming like they really want to help these gay kids, and seem nice. But, the reality soon sets in that these people are a bunch of sick evil fuks who are obviously enjoying playing mind games with these kids. And there is a scene where the coach and his girlfriend are having sex, while looking at erotic pics of the campers, obviously the coach dude wanting the swimmer bad.
I also agree that it should have been the coach who takes advantage of the swimmer as that whole scene would have made more sense. Them using that long haired dude to entice the swimmer seemed stupid to me. I found that very unlikely.
I also had a problem with the time frame, where they are going to keep these kids for a week. However, maybe that was not the case at all, and the bigger plan was to abuse these kids long term, only the audience just isn't told what they are planning to do.
Like in the movie Boy Erased where he is told his time at the conversion camp won't be long, while they actually planned on keeping him there for years.
But thanks to our masked killer, the future planned torture of these kids was put to an abrupt end. As maybe the killer knew more than what we believe this sick people were actually doing.
In my opinion it wasn't a great movie. But, it is probably the only movie I ever saw where the people who were killed kinda deserved it.
Another scene that kinda made me think that was the blonde wife and the long haired queen all giddy because they succeeded in the torture of the swimmer. I was like, man, I hope they die next. And when they did I was giddy.
I actually hoped the non binary camper would shoot Kevin Bacon over that whole dog scene. Who's got broken legs now MF!! I'm sorry trigger, looks like I will have to put you down!!
Man, I thought the sickos in prisoners were bad. These people are far worse.
Just wanted to add that I figured out how the killer got into the camp. They never met the lady who was killed on her way there, because she was hired and sent there by another place, and they never met her.
So it was easy for the killer to take her place.
ITS NOT THEY THEM
ITS THEY SLASH THEM
THIS MOVIE WAS DUMB ASF 🤦♀️
I'm let down was wanting campers to get killed 😪 .
Playing it to safe
As not to offend
But killing campers is so trope...at least they went against that 😂
What a wet fart of a horror movie this was
this movie was everything i needed honestly. the primary demographic was literally just me lol.
I'm sorry but I gotta ask: Why are you wearing a pantyliner on your shirt?
