  • Hey folks!
This is a short video about the Mercury transit on November 11th this year.
I cover the question why transits are so rare and only occur every few years or even decades! We look at some basic orbital relations of Earth - Mercury and the Sun so answer that. Additionally I give a quick (!) overview on the gear I used to capture this transit and show a short clip of Mercury transiting the sun from the perspective of my little backyard!
It was a fun event. I was really looking forward to capturing it and I was so glad that the clouds parted just (!) in time. The next transit will be in 13 years but until that event there are several partial lunar eclipses to see and watch.
Stay tuned and clear skies everyone!
Until next time here on catchingphotons :-)
    Greetings
    Chris

      Tanks!
Haha! Yes, my paint skills are truly legendary! ;)
Just kidding. I use paint.net - a simple paint-like program that allows for layers.
      Greetings
