- NASA released images yesterday (9 May) of the planet Mercury making a rare “transit” across the surface of the sun; a phenomenon that occurs only 13 times in a century.
The process takes about seven-and-a-half hours, with Mercury appearing as a black dot on the Sun's surface. Спорт
I sometimes wonder how mercury feels being so close to the Sun. Getting fried every second but still survive. Mercury is a true inspiration..
We need to get Mercury armor so we don’t get sun burned
Mercury is a burning planet ..but Venus still the hottest planet in the solar system because of her atmosphere
@@daijhin3064 ya, Venus even far away from sun than Mercury, manages to have a little hotter temperature than Mercury. It really amazes one, bt when we look into the specific details we find out reality behind it
@@daijhin3064 Venus is hotter because she leaves her body to the imagination.
@@princetodo561 go to the other side of Mercury and you freeze. Mercury is tidally locked so one side always faces the sun.
And then there are(stars)out there that make our Sun look like mercury here, compare to their sizes
ALL MIGHTY GOD IS GREAT
MUCH MORE GREATER THAN OUR IMAGINATIONS
Please gift me telescope I am space lover
And yet these assholes claims they can estimate the mass in the universe.
@@gulabsinghsingh7248 what does that have to do with this video you idiot
@@The_Bad_Guy. Bcoz all these magnificent creations, arranged in a so brilliant way, isn't possible without a super intellectual Creator on the first place u jerk
These videos (with stunning sound effects) are the ones that would make Sheldon Cooper cry like a little girl
I ws thinking the same lol 😆 xx
That’s really neat. Can’t imagine looking at the sun while standing on Mercury.
I don't think you would see much else then the sun 😎
I can’t understand how if you stood on Mercury, the Sun would only appear 3 times bigger in the sky than what it does on Earth. Looking at this footage would make me think that the whole of the Mercurian sky would be taken up with the Sun. Incredible!
Bro I don’t think these are true images or that the sun is 3 times bigger if this is true. One of them got to be false
If the distance between the two is millions of miles, definitely this image is false
I can't understand how in any way possible (that we know of) you can stand on Mercury.
@@knowmore8509 They probably look really close because this video was recorded from the Earth. I think what they did was recording the Sun (and Mercury) from the Earth's perspective and zooming the video by a LOT, so both of the celestial bodies could be seen easily.
@@knowmore8509 But I understand why you thought it was false.
After viewing this footage,Today I feel very small in this universe
7seven7 we are but ants on a grain of sand
Yeah... Not to mention, 95 bilion light years wide and 3 trilions of galaxies.
Because we are very small
yet the footage is fake.
Viva El Español y La Hispanidad Mundial no one cares about you
The size of the sun is almost incomprehensible.
+ajtronic comprehend UY Scuti
ajtronic that wasn't the ☀ DA.
What was that then? . Why not buy a solar telescope and see for yourself Mr Anti-Science. You are typing on a computer invented by scientists and you are trying to disprove science. Next time, type on sand.
And the fact our sun is a small star
It takes up 99.86 of mass in our universe
Amazing! Thank you NASA!
Wow, to our human eyes, the planet's seen to be floating still in complete silence in the vastness of space, but this gift from NASA has allowed me to.view our little solar neighbourhood in a new light. Thanks again NASA!
Thank nasa for the fake footage :))))
@@nixodus2870 Real footage :)
@@nixodus2870 Are you literally blind? Get a telescope you moron. But that would prove you wrong wouldn't it?
I love this comment ❤️
Was just teaching about mercury to my two daughters. ❤...thanks for this video
That means planets r the satellites of the sun....

Its crazy how theres always something bigger than something, its like numbers.. Its infinite

Amazing 10/10 from Mr Duck
Amazing Remarkable sun and its mercurey
Poor Mercury .......😥
I know so sad 😞
Mercury is so insignificant n tiny in the face of our Giant Sun.
insignificant?
:(
MERCURY lmaoooo
I would not have expected mercury to orbit so much faster than the Sun rotates. considering the size of the Sun, it must be going pretty dang fast.
+Travis Norseman it is a timelapse.
Right? no wrong. Sun takes ages to complete a full rotation because it's bigger.
The Sun doesn't orbit
+jacob martinez it takes 1 julian year(200 million years) to complete a revolution around the center of the galaxy, so, yes he have a orbit.
jacob martinez - the sun orbits a common point with Jupiter actually, the only Sun-planet system where the center of mass is outside the radius of the sun. Otherwise, you’re correct, unless you consider its orbit around the Milky Way galaxy.
The sun wobbles a lot due to solar system orbits, and it is traveling 220km/s around the plane of our Milky Way galaxy. It takes 230 million years to complete one orbit around the plane of the Milky Way, and we are only halfway out (8.5kpc or about 28,000 light years) from the center. Talk about size!
Thats some good looking CGI!
No it’s actually pretty obvious
Sorry that it doesn't look like your Jungle Book history lessons anymore dude......Anyway ,what are you doing on that godless evil computer of yours ,if you have got such problems with "computer generated images" ? Which btw these were not.....although ,( since it's self evident that you can't look into the sun without a filter) they were ofcourse computer enhanced and filtered ; which happens all over the board ,even with your favourite computer enhanced bible study.
Of course it’s CGI .And a lot of you are sheep still
That's cool and all but what's the song?
I got the real feeling 😖 how small we are😱😱😱
And at the speed of light which is 186.000 miles per second, it would take 3 years to get to the next nearest star, and there are 400 billion Stars with an average of 3 light years in between each one, and that is just in our Galaxy, and there are trillions of galaxys just in our observable universe!
Amazing!
wow amazing
Now we know how the scale of the solar system is moon is so close to us that it blocks the sun!
Even though it's smaller than Mercury!
What was recording 1 recorded with? Intel Pentium 2?
sure would be interesting to know. funny how what they claim to have a record of is pretty much ALL you see.
It’s CGI
The fact our sun is a really small star is just mind boggling!
Sun is a medium sized star as taking average
@@prashantsinghsisodia6709 ive seen bigger
@@miufke_thats what she said
@@prashantsinghsisodia6709 The sun is bigger than 90% of all of the stars in its vicinity.
@@pressaltf4forfreevbucks179 my honest reaction
This puts into perspective how small earth is compared to the sun since Venus is about the same size.
Reminds me of the movie Sunshine
Wow.. Can you imagine how small we really are and how big the universe really is?
And yet our observable universe is but an infinitely small speck, compared to the infinite universe!
Wide 93 BY :)
Cannot be imagine as humans we never left our planet by ourself only some robots and views from telescope and few scientists to the moon and back

I know i don't understand it completely but how has it been filmed that close without being burned up
Nothing was near the sun. What an odd question.
Hahahahaha CGI people .This is not real
Poor guy, become a victim of the giant 😢
Long back ago this guy was part of this giant!!!

Well, he dosent even have the sensation to feel victimized. So don't worry
Is that the actual size relation, or is a perspective effect?
Not actual. Planet Mercury in reality will look more tiny infront of sun, than the aspect view is being shown here on the video

HEY that dot is flat!! :D
Lol nice
Oh yeah that dot was cgi lol😉😁
Everything nasa shows you it’s CGI .People still think it’s real
Yesterday evng i seen in oman ....Mercury's transit sun
mark petrie - encompass
Poor lad 😟
1:16 the sun looks sooooo massive
It's because the Sun as a star IS massive compared to the any of the planets in our solar system. The earth can fit inside the sun over 1.3 million times. But the sun is only a grain of sand in size compared to the two largest stars in our universe "Stephenson 2-18, and UY Scuti"
Isn't it beautiful how every star shine so bright in the darkness of night/outer space? Almost as if proof that opposites attract in an eternal dance :) Welcome to the Sol System. There's plenty space for us all together.
Yes yes the beauty

I wonder how Mercury survives the big hot fireball🤔
Because it is nowhere near the sun.
And this is clearly CGI
Is this real life??
Need a satellite viewing earth crossing the suns path
Mercury being so small is not pulled by the gravitational force of the sun. Can anyone please tell me what is the reason.
I don't know where you got that idea from. So there is no reason because your initial statement is incorrect.
Mercury the 1st planet from the sun
Cg ! Notice how it doesn’t say REAL Footage
And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing..
wonderful nasa..
Sun ❤️🌞
Makes you feel rather small , eh ? :)
Wow, how did you get so many angles from one stationary telescope?
You couldn't zoom in a little closer, so we could actually see the planet? It looks really fake.
@underzero26
Another ignorant fuckstick...
It's one angle..
It’s clearly CGI
Subhan Allah
The comments are so full of "how small we are" banter that it almost seems like bots. I promise that your life isn't an insignificant blip on a small speck of dust!
Is this real footage????
Of course not …it’s clearly CGI but people still think nasa feeds them real images and videos from space
Just a dot
From these images, it seems like if you were standing on Mercury's illuminated side, the Sun would take up the whole sky. In reality, the Sun's diameter is about 100 times smaller than the Sun's distance from Mercury, so the Sun would only occupy 4 degrees in the sky. Unfortunately, our eyes aren't great at perceiving astronomical distances b/c the parallax from far-away objects is small.
From these images you can clearer see it’s not real :))) people still thinking everything nasa tells you
Kto sa nezaujíma o vesmír, tak si vôbec nevie predstaviť aký sme malí a tak zraniteľní.
mercury start like very light ball, going around to an end like blowed black potato 🤒😰 🔥🌡

AHHHHHHHHHH AHHH AHH AHHHHHHHHHHH *continues screaming*
Anyone else from tiktok?
is ok
And this is how our Sun would feel in front of the largest star ever discovered in the observable universe..Betelgeuse.
Betelgeuse is nowhere near the largest.
@@ngc-fo5te I know that now, Didn't knew that back when I posted this comment..
Mercury looking just dot , we are nothing by seeing this ... Mind blocked 🥺😧😧
So mercury is about 50 million miles away from the sun and earth is about 50 million miles away from mercury, doesn't it seem if you were standing on mercury the sun would cover the whole sky. Now another 50 million miles wouldn't seem so far that the sun would shrink considerably and only be a spec in our sky
Interesting observation 🤔
The sun is Juan.
The transit of mercury won’t be happening until November 13/12 2032.
I saw it in 2023
No The transit of mercury won’t be happening until November 13/12 2032.

we could easily be destroyed by the sun
We are getting destroyed everyday. The dangerous solar winds and flares penetrates our atmosphere everyday but thanks to the magnetic field around Earth that protects us from this..

it is truely amazing how my current Theories on Temporal Dynamics are Currently being Proven within the Temporal Dynamics of Our Solar system these are a0 being
That just shows you how big the Sun is, to watch something the size of the CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES drift by a small pixel of it like a marble! Keep in mind, that ratio also applies to the Sun itself compared to other stars.
How about a non cgi photo of earth nasa. All that technology and you can't snap a single photo of earth, shucks, it would probably be different just like all the rest, no not one is the same
They make that every day, you just keep denying all of them without any argumentation, because they don't allign with your personal delusion.
Mercury is the natural moon of God the Sun.
"Our Father, unattainable by our knowledge, but existing, let your name be holy, let your law come, giving light to the world of stars and our lives. On this day, feed us with bread and forgive our mortal debts as we forgive them before heaven, but protect us from temptation and evil. "
You know that were in nov 8 and tomorow is going to happen AGAIN 🤯🤯
distance from mercury to sun is 57.91 million kms ,how is it so close??.is it mercury or one of the the sun's moons??
It seems close because both of them are very far from us to the point that they are both at infinity photographically.
I dont believe in NASA pix...
I don't believe you don't believe.
Next Mercury transiting across the sun will occur Nov 11th starting at approx 7:30 am EST, and lasting for approx 5 hours.
Why is it rare?
