@@catchingphotons Since I have your ear what do think about using Super telephoto prime lenses as way of capturing deep space objects? I have already done some Milky Way shots while I visited Australia last year and i have the fever to improve on that and dive in deeper with a star tracker and telephoto lens I would also use that for birding.

      Hey,
tele lenses can be a great starting point for DSO photography!
But keep two things in mind though:
      A) The startracker must be sturdy enough to carry the cam AND the heavy tele lens.
      B) The longer the focal length, the narrower the FOV and the more precise the tracking must be. Most star-trackers are build for say... 50-100mm lenses and do track those FOV very good. The longer the FL, the more reliable your tracker must be. Maybe go with a cheaper telescope-mount? Used skywatcher eq5 or something?
Because: You will need some exposure time. The longer the FL, the smaler and darker the FOV will get.
Whats the f-ratio of your desired lens?
Tip: Use "stellarium" to play around with your field of view. So that you get a feeling of whats possible with that equipment.
      Greetings
      Chris

@@catchingphotons Sorry for the late response Chris, so what I have so far in Camera lenses are the Sigma Art series "85mm f 1.4 and 105mm f 1.4" Canon EF 200mm f 2.8 and an old New FD 300mm f 2.8. I also have the IRIX 150mm f 2.8 Dragon Fly along with its little brothers 11mm f4 and 15mm f 2.4. I am still deciding on what tracker to get a SkyWatcher EQM-35 and my first telescope the Sky Watcher Skymax 127. Or just get a
Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Pro Pack and play around with the Camera lenses first and then get the previous mentioned setup/kit.
