Agreed. Armin has never been a coward. He's struggled with pacifism, lack of self confidence, and couple stints of survivors guilt. But, Armin is a certifiable genius. He never runs & he'll always figure out a plan.
Lol plan 🤣 😂 like revealing Eren's location to the terrorist Reiner and Annie and also telling Eren to move closer to the walls while fighting Reiner🤣🤣 we know which helped Berthold, trash bitch plans.
Exactly his lack of self confidence makes him think he’s a coward and useless to the group at times but in actuality he’s never run from a fight like you said and has always deliberated and though through every angle of a situation before resorting to violence
And then here comes the toxic Erwin fanboys or Armin haters in general saying they should have chose Erwin not useless Armin who simps for Annie because he got berthold’s memories.. they think Erwin is the savior of humanity when Armin became just that in the end not to mention he is the new commander of the survey corps he is no longer just a soldier
The reason I love Armin so much is because his outlook is the answer to what Kenny said to Levi when he died, and the answer to Erens outlook on freedom, while Eren keeps striving for an unobtainable “Freedom”, and Mikasa can’t stop wishing she could go back to the past, Armin always stays in the present and appreciates all the little things that he experiences everyday. Armin has always been the most “free” character in the show, wether he was behind walls or not, his monologue to Zeke at the end perfectly captures this
Eren basically told the audience every single reason why Armin was such a badass during the sequence of Erwin vs. Armin. As stated, Armin was the one who figured out Annie's identity, he came up with the idea to travel at night during S2, and made the plan to stop Bertolt in Shiganshina. Armin is one hell of a smart person. Hell, even in S1, he backtalked his bullies with one hell of a savage comeback. The hints were there from the first episode. Pretty damn amazing to see all the foreshadowing when I think about it more. Happy New Year!
I really liked Armin up to his sacrifice, after that he didn't develop further as a character or contribute much to the story in general until the last chapter, it would've been perfect had he died during his sacrifice, and it would make sense too, mf got burnt to a crisp and fell down from on top of the wall, he should've died. Erwin should've been revived.
I’ve always thought this Armin is literally so underrated and under appreciated for his role in the story. He may not always stand out physically but his contribution and impact on various characters and events cannot go unmentioned. After all it was his shared dream of the outside world that inspired Eren’s warped desires for freedom. I’d honestly say his development is more apparent than 95% if the cast and I’m glad Seatactics is putting some respect on his name
When I rewatched AOT starting from season 1, I realised that HE REALLY DOESN'T RUN. -When Carla was eaten, he went to get Hannes to save Eren&Mikasa -He went after Mikasa who became emotional after Eren's 'death' and gave her his supplies -At the supply tower, he joined the group in shooting the titans in the basement(a plan he devised) -Took Eren out from the titan body after closing the wall of Trost -Stayed with E&M as they were about to be canoned after Eren's reveal as Titan Shifter -faced the female titan with Jean&Reiner -with E&M luring Annie to the underground -Went to save Eren from Reiner&Bert -When the reveal of Reiner&Bert as titan shifters, he RAN TOWARDS EREN trying to save him. -Searched for Reiner at the wall of Shiganshina -Talked to Bert face to face -Faced the Colossal Titan who steamed-burned him -Joined the expedition to the outside world -the Raid of Liberio -out of the prison to save Eren from Marley's surprise attack at Shiganshina -went out to save Falco with Gabi -talked to and shot by Daz by the harbour -In the ship to Odiha i knew i miss a few especially season 3 but he really doesn't run. My pretty boy is really sturdy and reliable.
Armin probably has the best glow up in S4. Now one of my favorite moments of all of the series is him jumping out of the plane, high pitched ringing turn back into music, and Armin yelling “EREN!!”
We didn't underestimate him in my house. While he wasn't everyone's fave, he was always appreciated. Armin was my ride or die from like episode 7 or so and on. I never backed down from that stance. He was the one I bet on to make it to the end and boy did he deliver. I was so proud of him in that final episode.
I didn't understand his character at first rather than being the brain of the trio, I never saw him as a weak character as a whole but more like a passive character, glad that perspective of him has changed and I become more appreciative towards him for being himself.
Armin is most certainly an awesome character, its so easily to blow past the kind hearted AND intelligent guy, but so many strategies that the whole cast put their whole lives in were strategies that Armin came up with.
@@rabbidguarddog His personality & demeanor are very different. But, the majority of the series, he's been surrounded by more physically capable combatants. And had to be more involved in strategy and planning. I think you're right.
One of my favorite Armin moments is when he made up the plan (back in S1) to shoot the Titans in the eyes when the basement was infested with them. Cuz honestly, I would've pulled the trigger the second a Titan got it's-going-to-eat-me range.
Armin is my favorite character of all time. I realized how much he had grown as a character when he shot the woman who was about to shoot Jean. Then when he sacrificed himself during the Colossal battle, the end of that episode had me sobbing (and the next one too). Honestly I strive to be like Armin, I'm very similar to him but I think I could be better in some ways.
Happy New Year. Thank you for giving our boy Armin the recognition he deserves. And thank you for pointing out -again- his relationship with Annie and especially the fact that it didn't start the moment he inheritted the Colossal Titan.
I always like an underdog character growing in a show. But Armin's my favourite. - Starts off always doubting himself and even hating himself, and isn't the most brave against the titans. - Ends up saving many lives with his plans, saving his friends with bravery (literally putting himself between cannons and rifles to diffuse the situation). And ultimately gets with Annie, is the youngest head of the scouts then jumps out that plane first like a leader. My favourite thing was how he made Annie & Eren both feel better through empathy and telling them he's as bad - he's claimed many lives. "I'll see you in hell" "yeah, we'll be together for all time"
Finally, a fellow bro with good taste. I’ll always value someone who uses their head over their fists any day. Plus, my boy got that colossal drip, ya feel me?
The video was so good that I'm dissapointed it ended in 15 minutes. Anyway keep up the good content! One of my fav things about armin is how self aware he is. He knows about his terrible actions knows it’s horrible & his thoughts always end up being true like with eren during the rumbling, eren being a slave, eren having a reason behind his actions to them during the table, etc.
Love your videos and your takes. They have made me get another level of enjoyment from this series. Armin has always been one of my favorite characters in the series and this does well to highlight why
it’s funny bc in last episode most people have to realize armin is main character of aot nd eren lowkey has just been the best friend armin gives eren all his goals but just not how armin meant too also eren, pixas, and eventually levi nd hange even state multiple times how armin is the most important character in aot on top of that armin is the narrator in story proving if it’s anyone’s perspective and story its his mostly just like armin blames himself for erens actions for givin him his hopes nd dreams instead of helpin his friend find his own
AGREEDDDD!! armin has always been my fav chara, even since S1. from the first moment he entered my screen i was like damn,, he’s pretty lol. i also happen to have a thing for blonde smart ppl, theres just smth abt them thats soooo ??? idk, thats probs why he became my fav chara so fast. i also love his character, and his character development soo much! btw great vid dude
Thanks for giving my boy Armin the respect he deserves! He was initially my favorite character, and while Reiner has since usurped that spot, he's definitely still the prettiest : ) But can you believe that some in the survey corps used to think that Eren was a threat to humanity?! 😂😂😂😄😄😅😃😀🙂😐😶😟😰
Armin is trully a great and one of the most important characters in the story who would sacrifice himself for the sake of humanity. I hope he wont thank Eren for becoming a massmurderer for his sake...
Armin wasn't always my favourite character, Sasha was my favourite the first time I watched it. But the 2nd time I watched AOT was when I really started appreciated him. Not only his pretty looks haha, but I really enjoy his character development. He is by far the bravest character. He sacrificed himself so Eren could retake Shiganshina. I think he gets alot of hate because he was the one revived and not Erwin. He is actually my favourite anime character of all time (as you can tell by my pfp) In my opinion, he is very underrated, we need more love for this little ocean boy.
Something happened between Armin and Sasha (Only in in the manga tho, the scene wasn't animated in the anime so many don't know this) And that was horrid of Sasha but if u do not wanna get spoiled it's fine :))
I don't think he's a coward either. Yes he was very timid and frightful but who wouldn't be in his position? Facing huge man eating monsters that are believed to be what drove humanity to near extinction. Having little to no physical ability in combat (a lot of people don't), along with having self-confidence issues and survivors guilt. I think he's actually quite relatable.
As hopeful as we can get, Armin would have been easily the greatest character in the series, let alone a true MVP if he was written properly. He was entirely built to become Eren's opposite in terms of ideology and motivations. But the last arc completely destroyed his entire purpose (which in my own interpretation) not just him but the entire cast were written poorly. AOT:requiem however, (despite being a fan work) wrote a better version of him during the last chapters.
My theory is that Isayama was in a rush to finish the series, and just sticked with what he planned from the beggining, instead of making, let's say, countless revisions to make everything fit perfectly.
@Nippon he could have easily stretched out the entire final fight, but I think Isayama is already or almost ready to give up with the story he's working on. It's either he stayed too much on social media which skewed all his plans for the ending being too predictable and wants a unique take, or Kodansha pressured him too much he's getting tired working as a mangaka or he just hated working on the series that he just doesn't care anymore. Either way the ending was indeed rushed with too many plot holes unanswered or created.
I've always liked Armin, because I think he sort of served as the voice of reason throughout the series. He tried his hardest to resolve conflicts without violence, but if it came down to it he would do what he needed to do to protect himself and his friends. I never thought of him as cowardly, but rather someone who recognized the truth of the situation, and even if it all seemed hopeless he tried anyways.
Armin is probably my favorite anime character of all time for the reasons stated above and more. In the scene where he showed Eren that book about the outside, I could tell he was more curious and a deeper thinker than most other characters, and his imagination would play a huge part in the plot. And of course it did. And he is, in fact, very pretty (in s4).
Armin is my favourite character with reiner being a close 2nd, and the development he gets is great. Similar to how eren becomes more rashanal & less reckless, armin becomes mutch braver, even to the point where he's willing to sacrifice his life to stop bertholt. And it's kinda poetic how he eventually ends up in a titan 👊 fight against his best friend.
The best character who accomplished next to nothing and stared at a rock girl cause he was inlove and had no plan other then negotiation which would fail, since marley and the world leaders had their own agendas regarding paradis. Also said Rock girl he loves is a killer.
I personally never understood why Armin and Annie would ever be a pairing. Aside from their obvious personality differences, I never thought she deserved him given the overt pleasure she took in her brutal undercover operations as a warrior. No anguish, no obvious remorse. You can’t pair someone like that with Armin. That’s probs why Isayama left their relationship ambiguous at the end. Good on him.
Idk when I watched AoT for the first time Armin was my favorite. I thought he was near pivotal to Eren’s mindset, hell it doesn’t matter what I think that’s just the truth lmfao, he is just as important as Eren and Mikasa. Love him
Armin was my favorite from the beginning. I liked how smart and tactical that he is along with a calm and patient demeanor. In many ways he's what I wish I could be in real life. That and I also love blonde shotas.
a child and teenager rooting armin and love him, before armin was my fav character in aot and i would choose armin over erwin, but boy, how naive and stupid i was before then. Armin is the most evil than eren by basically contribute nor sacrifice nothing also a hypocrite and a coward.
I really enjoyed watching this character analysis of Armin Arlert. I agree that Armin is not a coward, just a shy boy who slowly becomes stronger in his own rights. He is my favorite of the EMA trio (Eren and Mikasa are cool).
Armin Understands every character in AOT better than even us I believe that if he was in paths with Eren and Zeke then he would also be able to convince Ymir to not go with Eren and Rumbling would never happen.
yes, you're right but i think Erwin would have been a better choice and it should have even made sense that Levi would give him the fluid, i know erwin did not want to but i still thin levi should have chosen him over armin, armin aldo said himself that he'd die figghting the colossal titan
He’s been my favorite for so long ever since starting the series! I love his arc so much and honestly I wish some people would just appreciate him more and give him a break😔 “cuck” this and “cringevenger” that like damn shut up😭 Another amazing and underrated character is jean. Jean is one of the realest most relatable character and his development is crazy!
Armin was one of the mvp's of pre-season 4. But he became to passive and slow in season 4. It's almost like when he finally got to see the sea, he lost most of his purpose. Even though I prefer Erwin as a character over Armin, I still believe that Armin was the right choice to save. But in season 4, Armin needed to be a lesser leader, under the supreme leadership/mentorship of Erwin, the Man of action. It's a damn shame they had to chose between these two, the two most irreplaceble characters in the show
I didnt care for armin in season 1, season 2 he came out of his shell, season 3 he was the it girl, season 4 he became the protagonist to me. Theres a reason why he and levi are my #1
Armin pre-timeskip was the GOAT and he was almost always a step ahead of the plot itself, but I was a bit disappointed in Armin post-timeskip. It's been a while since I read AoT, but did he ever have a single good idea post-timeskip? I remember feeling like he was suddenly not brilliant anymore. I'm not saying that he had no impact or that he wasn't interesting, far from it, but one of his defining characteristic was suddenly... gone. At least that was my impression and I was a bit sad about it.
Even though I like Armin as a whole, there is one thing about his character that I don't like, and that is of course, his whole "taking things out" mentality. Now I'm only gonna be referring to how it's portrayed in season 4, not the previous seasons as this mentality wasn't anything bad back then. But here and now? It just doesn't work! You see, Armin had this idea in his head that if they just talk things out with the outside world, everything's gonna be okay, except that's just completely unrealistic considering the fact that THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A F*CKING WAR! Besides, the world has been at each other's throats for 2,00p years! No amount of talking is gonna make that all go away! If Paradis doesn't fight they will die, that is their situation and no amount of talking is ever gonna change that fact! The world is right to hate them, because in their eyes they will NEVER stop being devils who can kill them at any time, so long as that remains the truth, this war and bloodshed will never end! IF YOU CANNOT ABANDON YOUR HUMANITY TO DO WHAT'S NECESSARY, THEN NOTHING ARMIN SAYS WILL NEVER CHANGE ANYTHING! AND ALL THOSE LIVES THAT DIED FOR HIM WILL HAVE DIED FOR NOTHING!
I love Armin from s1, s2 and s3 but Armin in s4 is stupid to think he can negotiate. He betrayed his own people. And he's kind of hypocrite to say the last line and himself going against it
Spoilers for both 86th and AOT Armin and Lina from 86th are really similar people . Both are rather naive at beginig but then they learn about hollow truth of the world . Despite all they fight for this what is morally good even if they made mistakes or sacrifice something what make them human ( mostly Armin ) . In the end they are both able to stand against their own people when they see that what their faction is doing is wrong . Honestly Armin would fit nicely into 86th cast both as an Alba or a Colorata group . Sometimes it's sad that in AOT is no faction what would be similar to Federal Republic of Giad , a nation created from ashes of former empire , reformed into something better .
Let’s be real I think armins one of the characters that can defeat Levi. He has the colossal titans power and really you’ve never seen Levi take on a full colossal titan by himself. So really I think Armin has much power over Levi.
If we take you argument as valid Then even jean if he had the colossal would be capable to win against levi too since all colossals users can do the same. Even connie if he had the colossal could defeat levi too if we take your arguments as valid It's not a power like the beast or the jaw (that depending of the user the hardened mask of the jaw change the format and in the beast case depending of the user the animal changes)
😂 Him being in the alliance without figuring out a plan?! That's totally not like him.. and isayama really passed through that without us noticing that he couldn't figure out one.. He also didn't do anything about it when got to talk to Eren in the end.. that's not the Armin I've seen all these years..

-When the reveal of Reiner&Bert as titan shifters, he RAN TOWARDS EREN trying to save him.
-Searched for Reiner at the wall of Shiganshina
-Talked to Bert face to face
-Faced the Colossal Titan who steamed-burned him
-Joined the expedition to the outside world
-the Raid of Liberio
-out of the prison to save Eren from Marley's surprise attack at Shiganshina

Similar to how eren becomes more rashanal & less reckless, armin becomes mutch braver, even to the point where he's willing to sacrifice his life to stop bertholt.
And it's kinda poetic how he eventually ends up in a titan 👊 fight against his best friend.
Armin is a phenomenal character.
The best character who accomplished next to nothing and stared at a rock girl cause he was inlove and had no plan other then negotiation which would fail, since marley and the world leaders had their own agendas regarding paradis. Also said Rock girl he loves is a killer.
He helped Shasha on Attack on Junior High study for her make up test.
Agreed. It’s my fav ❤❤❤
I just realized that Eren, Armin, and Mikasa mirror Reiner, Berthold, and Annie respectively almost perfectly.
Bruh, that Marco joke was cold af
Idk when I watched AoT for the first time Armin was my favorite. I thought he was near pivotal to Eren’s mindset, hell it doesn’t matter what I think that’s just the truth lmfao, he is just as important as Eren and Mikasa. Love him
BEEN AN ARMIN STAN SINCE SEASON 1
Jean needs more love
as being Armin thank you
My goat in the entire series!!! ❤
Armin was my favorite from the beginning. I liked how smart and tactical that he is along with a calm and patient demeanor. In many ways he's what I wish I could be in real life. That and I also love blonde shotas.
I love Armin, thanks for giving him the credit he deserves... hey what's the name and band of the song on the Colossal Titan section? love that too
hes one of my favorite anime characters of all time. so likeable. most wholesome boy.
a child and teenager rooting armin and love him, before armin was my fav character in aot and i would choose armin over erwin, but boy, how naive and stupid i was before then. Armin is the most evil than eren by basically contribute nor sacrifice nothing also a hypocrite and a coward.
Bento back with AOT vids just in time before the finals season returns
ii totally agreeeeee ..
AREEEMIIIIH
What a frikkin montage
I really enjoyed watching this character analysis of Armin Arlert. I agree that Armin is not a coward, just a shy boy who slowly becomes stronger in his own rights. He is my favorite of the EMA trio (Eren and Mikasa are cool).
Armin Understands every character in AOT better than even us I believe that if he was in paths with Eren and Zeke then he would also be able to convince Ymir to not go with Eren and Rumbling would never happen.
Impossible. Ymir want to see mikasa killing eren to be free
Armin is my favorite character he is the best character
Amen. My fav since the beginning
I love him so much 💕💕💕💕💕💕
yes, you're right but i think Erwin would have been a better choice and it should have even made sense that Levi would give him the fluid, i know erwin did not want to but i still thin levi should have chosen him over armin, armin aldo said himself that he'd die figghting the colossal titan
He’s been my favorite for so long ever since starting the series! I love his arc so much and honestly I wish some people would just appreciate him more and give him a break😔 “cuck” this and “cringevenger” that like damn shut up😭
Another amazing and underrated character is jean. Jean is one of the realest most relatable character and his development is crazy!
Now do a video on Marlo
Armin was one of the mvp's of pre-season 4. But he became to passive and slow in season 4. It's almost like when he finally got to see the sea, he lost most of his purpose. Even though I prefer Erwin as a character over Armin, I still believe that Armin was the right choice to save. But in season 4, Armin needed to be a lesser leader, under the supreme leadership/mentorship of Erwin, the Man of action. It's a damn shame they had to chose between these two, the two most irreplaceble characters in the show
Lacking of Armin alert never mention about 100 Year's ago As well.
I didnt care for armin in season 1, season 2 he came out of his shell, season 3 he was the it girl, season 4 he became the protagonist to me. Theres a reason why he and levi are my #1
Does anyone else hear Beneath the Mask from Persona 5? Now i cant unhear it.
Yay more AOT!
1:59 i enjoyed your content from the start! still do
He's my fav character
this edit wins. BARTHALAMEW MAXIMUS bruh i DIED
The ending ruined his character so he aint really the best now is he?
WHY YOU HATE MY BOY BERTHTOLD
For me, it was the haircut in the first seasons.
He destroyed Liberio's navy & apparently planned the Survey Corps airship getaway. But other than that, final season Armin has yet to shine.
0:47 💯
so confused why bertolts name is changed in your videos LOL
How one of the main character is underated??
He is not underrated character. He is litterely co protagonist and its pretty clear
Me watches AOT first bcoz I like Armin
And he's kind of hypocrite to say the last line and himself going against it
Spoilers for both 86th and AOT
Armin and Lina from 86th are really similar people .
If we take you argument as valid
Then even jean if he had the colossal would be capable to win against levi too since all colossals users can do the same. Even connie if he had the colossal could defeat levi too if we take your arguments as valid
It's not a power like the beast or the jaw (that depending of the user the hardened mask of the jaw change the format and in the beast case depending of the user the animal changes)
😂
Him being in the alliance without figuring out a plan?! That's totally not like him.. and isayama really passed through that without us noticing that he couldn't figure out one..
He also didn't do anything about it when got to talk to Eren in the end.. that's not the Armin I've seen all these years..
