Apologies things get a little jittery in the video in spots. Recently updated the GFX card and have something to figure out. Was smooth while playing, hopefully you all enjoy the fantastic circuit still!
Something I found for recording software is that you need to run the software as "administrator". Because this will prioritise the software first and then the game. Resulting in smoother recording. At least this works for me. For note I have a RTX 3080 and AMD 3800x. 32 gigs of ram at CL15
Hey Jake, I have a 3090 and somehow NVENC will not yield smooth 60fps recordings. I have to use CPU instead. No idea why but nothing helps. So, maybe try CPU instead? 🤔
Congrats on the new card, I just got a new one also...it's a great feeling getting an upgrade. The video was fine, didn't even notice any issues....also, very informative as always, teaching me things I should already know about a home grown circuit.
Awesome video! I made the track, and it's so great to see it presented like this :) Fun fact: This project started in 2009, and shortly after received some assistance from one of the folks from the original and abandoned GPL version. If you drive way too far away from the track you can find one or two houses from their unreleased GPL project, which they allowed me to use to bootstrap my own version of the track. The earliest versions I released had many more of the GPL houses/buildings included. Another fun fact, the willow trees in the track are from photographs i took of willows in the camping grounds in the centre of the circuit, by the river. Except for one, which is from just to the left at Tannery Corner. The poplar trees are all authentic Longford trackside poplar trees. The large one at the start finish line is the actual tree, another is from the down-hill section after turn 1, and the smaller one is from the paddock area. They've aged a bit. And the large pine inside the final turn is the actual large pine. Several of the buildings were also photographed and turned into the models, including the Pub, which is still active as a pub :) Thanks for the video :)
Thank you greatly for the tons of fun hours having a slight idea of what was like to race in these monsters. My simulator is still RFactor because it still has most tracks and classes. Sad that some other gems couldn't make it from GPL to RFactor. I had the old Brno track and could never found the download again, that was incredible track.

What a honeymoon, a pub and a motor racing museum surrounded by history in one place, well worth a visit.

Wonderful video as always. Love this track. On a holiday to Tassie a year ago, the family and I spent an enjoyable hour or so in Longford tracing the remains of the ciruit. Sadly King's Bridge doesn't exist any more, and an area near the Long Bridge seems to be closed off, so you can't do the whole lap any more. The surrounds are so peaceful and idyllic it can be difficult to imagine it in it's racing prime. The rfactor2 version is a great recreation, my only point would be that in real life the hump coming up to the pub at Longford corner is much more sudden and steep (about 2m high over about 8m length), and would probably require pre-emptive braking.

Not my favorite classic track but certainly a gem. It got recently updated for AC as well. I ran through that field gate after the Long Bridge many times due to braking very late. Kudos to you for not abandoning the video after that spin, the inner toddler in me would have rage-quitted in that moment. Your videos are always fun to watch, for a guy like me who is terrible at sim racing and doesn't have the equipment to play it properly, but still enjoys it nonetheless.

Pity most of the circuit is gone, at least the pubs still there. They were doing a “Longford festival of speed” event not too long ago, and the pub in town has stuff from the tasman series plus targa Tasmania stuff.
I like the fact you still uploaded after coming off, This is probably the hardest car to race there is, Basically a 180 mile an hour go kart, Takes huge skill will an stanima to drive one of these at high speeds I bet, And the people who raced these cars are legendary in their field, Utter madness aswell, Safety wasn't a thing when you're racing a bathtub full of highly flammable liquid, I dont think they even wore seat belts lol..... Yeah if you can master driving a car like this, Then most other cars will be a lot easier for you, In the rain you will gain even more skills, Quality video tho bro, I began sim racing stupidly using console, Now I'm skint I can't afford a PC I needs for sim racing, I'm going to see about paying instalments instead, Console sim racing is so limited I'm getting bored, I can't do GT sport, I need full on simulation, Fingers crossed tho I will be upgrading to the PC soon, Can finally enter some proper races, The lobbies on AC are good bit yeah I'm getting bored of the same tracks, AC on the PC is loaded, I don't understand if it's available for the PC why not console after all isn't a console a computer aswell, But yeah stroll on when I can upgrade to the PC.... Top quality video tho......
XD I saw the dude go off into the tree in your mirror and then you said “some dust behind me” and I’m just like “yep…. dust and a mangled car.” Obviously it wouldn’t be funny IRL but just that you noticed the dust but I saw the whole thing since I can watch your mirrors a lot more gave me a chuckle.
I desperately want to boot up AC and drive this magnificent track, but my back is fucked, and I've done my maximum of 20 minutes of racing for the day. I know what I'm doing tomorrow!
So any particular Boston intersection you had in mind? Not an intersection, but I've always thought a Sturrow Drive/Memorial Drive loop would be an awesome track.
It's a shame the guy who made this never managed to finish his version of Lobethal, that track was even crazier, probably the only Australian track to really match Bathurst.
I wish I knew what I was doing when it comes to recreating tracks. Australia has a rather large amount of old natural racetracks, most of which are mostly forgotten. Plus I'd create, or convert tracks like Amaroo Park and Warwick Farm.
G'day movers and shakers.. So nice to see our old roads. Just over my road on our Auto club land is site for the.. new Aussie World Class, FIA approved Motor Recreation and Education Park. V8 Supercar, F1 and more. I will learn and know it like the back of my..
I took a bit of a double take there as Longford is originally a place here in Ireland and got excited as there's almost zero Irish content within sim racing. All the same, great video as usual.
how do i make my shadows not look like trash in RF2? this looks great, my shadows look like they are getting bilinear filtered like a 90s game.. i can see them changing quality 5 feet in front of the car and it's very distracting. thanks for any tips

Open wheel racing back in 60s and 70s was dangerous race driver back in the day had very big balls it was life or death
woochoo did a lovely job on this and Matsusaka (Suzuka). Maybe he'll finish Le Mans (Le Grand Circuit) someday...
I was always a NASCAR/left turny guy, until I discover vintage road courses.
One my favorite track, I past a lot of hour runnng with various car on it
I wonder if anyone has ever done Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin just before Road America was built.
the f1legends 67 mod is worth a try.fictional but fun
XD
I saw the dude go off into the tree in your mirror and then you said “some dust behind me” and I’m just like “yep…. dust and a mangled car.”
Obviously it wouldn’t be funny IRL but just that you noticed the dust but I saw the whole thing since I can watch your mirrors a lot more gave me a chuckle.
Dust, mangled car and more than likely a trip to the hospital.
17:45 "He'S jUsT bRaKe TeStEd Me!"
Great mod. Thanks.
#14 was clearly Fernando Alonso, same fierce defense
I desperately want to boot up AC and drive this magnificent track, but my back is fucked, and I've done my maximum of 20 minutes of racing for the day. I know what I'm doing tomorrow!
So any particular Boston intersection you had in mind? Not an intersection, but I've always thought a Sturrow Drive/Memorial Drive loop would be an awesome track.
would be a hell of a track, especially through the tunnels!
i live just a few k's from here! very unfortunate its gone now though :(
To anyobe: there is a version of this track for assetto that can be downloaded :)
Can you imagine a modern day f1 on that track?? Or even an LM Prototype??
another great video.u always give great car track combos...what do you have yr Ai agression set at
Sort of an Australian version of Rheims. Bit more interesting with the Long Bridge and the viaduct.
G'day movers and shakers.. So nice to see our old roads. Just over my road on our Auto club land is site for the..

Longford was in the original rFactor.
Another good one.
Now on to Gnoo Blas?
I bought this game thinking it was about Pirates. It was not.
I took a bit of a double take there as Longford is originally a place here in Ireland and got excited as there's almost zero Irish content within sim racing. All the same, great video as usual.
this place is like 20km from me
Is the gpl tutorial on the way or is it a cancelled project?
Is it me, or does this track have alarming similarities to the Farmlands circuit mod on WreckFest, as demonstrated by Eddie Soundhead??
how do i make my shadows not look like trash in RF2? this looks great, my shadows look like they are getting bilinear filtered like a 90s game.. i can see them changing quality 5 feet in front of the car and it's very distracting. thanks for any tips
I found the tire treads annoyingly unscuffed, but other than that it looks amazing.
If you're going to Tasmania, don't just go for Longford. Go for the Targa Tasmania.
