Interesting how this is coming more and more relevant, and yet more and more 'society' and its leaders are resisting this, to the detriment of society and themselves.
this is still so relevant to what's happening now with the VUCA/TUCA/Pandemic & Techonology, the SDGs etc... self-responsibility has started....and coaching is a need
I have never heard John Whitmore speak before. I only watched this because I am training in life coaching. However, I couldn't agree more with his perspective. Many people think that I am misguided as they trust that the world leaders will remedy the situations. I am often chastised for not showing favour for one party over the other. However, I don't think that world leaders are the answer, mainly because I don't think they are the driving force in the first place. I believe in the power of people. Our system is so broken at almost every level. I believe in empowering others to make changes. This is what got me excited about life coaching. Although most of what I have seen so far has been corperate, sales, marketing and the power of belief which is all relevant, however, I work from more of a spiritual/natural place. It is wonderful to see that a pioneer of life coaching is reflecting my values and belief system. Thank you.
I completely agree about learning from nature. However i am not as anti technology as John appears. Although, I it depends whether he is anti technology or anti the current application of technology. I am certainly the latter. I wouldn't know any of what i do today or have become as spiritual as I have without the internet. It has been an amazing tool for me that i cannot imagine my life without. Since we no longer hand down skills from our ancestors, I have needed a source of knowledge for alternative medication, how nature works, how to meditate, do qigong or the power of the mind etc etc etc (the list is endless). I would never be educated in these subjects without the internet. So I for one, am truly grateful for our development. I only wish it were applied better.
