I just got my brand approved today, little trick to tell you is, i went to office depot and ordered a pre-ink stamp, with your brand name, they can get it done for you the same day, then stamp on a few boxes, the place the boxes and the products side by side, take several pictures ( your hand can be in the pictures) send to them and get approved. Holy smokes! Just learned that brand approval and brand registry are 2 separate applications. I recently applied for brand registry, and Camron is right, they asked for ridiculous documents and proofs. Heading back to Amazon for "brand approval" application now. @@Gurbanwear for brand approval they don't ask too much but yes if they want they could ask for documents and invoices. I honestly didn't have that much trouble with brand approval. Brand Registry is totally different ball game and yes you need lot of documentation and proofs.

Doesn't sound like you are a legitimate business perhaps - just selling something under a name but not really a registered business with the state and a matching EIN issued by the IRS for your business - Right?

I’ve today closed selling account. Their advisers are the worst of the worst. When not sending you print outs that don’t relate they send you constantly conflicting information. My brand name is already in catalogue. My brand name isn’t in catalogue. Over and over for weeks. Then I ask for phone call to help, each time they hang up on me although I’m patiently explaining my problems. All of its in India and they are confused, uninterested and like robots

Thanks for the video! Just an FYI, it looks like they changed the permanently affixed language. Here's what I see now:
The branding "xyz" must be stamped, stitched, printed, or stick on the product and/or packaging so that it is not easily removeable
Also - do you know if the branding needs to be on every single package I plan to sell? Or only one package just for the brand approval?

Does anyone know if you can get away with submitting the picture of one custom package and leave the rest of your packages generic to avoid paying for custom packaging?
I think they are asking for proof that the brand exists and you are using it on your products. They do the same when you want to trademark your brand. You have to prove that it is an actual brand and live. Then do whatever packaging you want to use.
Thank you for all your help. I'm getting ready to start. Thus far I only have my Amazon store. Nothing in it. I have found the first product that I will be selling and want to do Brand Approval. I'm a bit lost in what to do next, or should I say, the step to step. I will need to get a bar code, then get the FNSKU from Amazon. So that my supplier can print it on my product package. I also need to have my Brand printed on said package. The is where I'm lost. So to get the FNSKU I need to create a listing? But to create a Brand Approval listing I need pictures of package with my Brand name printed on it. Help!!

Hi! I'm just getting started and I want to re-sell new band name handbags. My specific question is if I want to sell different styles of one specific brand does each style need to be submitted for approval or do you only submit the approval for the specific brand once?
I guess you are referring to variations, say you want to list a hand bag of a brand and that hand bag has variations of colors and sizes etc.. or could be variations of different hand bag models of that hand bag Brand
There should be an easier way to see if the brand name is available on Amazon, BEFORE you pay to get the name added to the packaging or product. How do I know the brand name is EVEN available to use on Amazon? Has this question been answered?

Hey guys first time here, I wanted to get brand approval by Amazon then they said the following
images of the product and/or packaging are not real-world (ex. images are computer generated, marketing quality, or digitally altered) they are not altered I showed them the product packaging
these products to be generic because other Brand strings have provided the same product and or packaging images.
The branding or other identifying mark that appears on the product or its packaging must be distinguishable from similar products that do not belong to that brand.

@@philly.creative I’ve just been brand approved. Since you got that same message as I did do it again, so make another lisiting and get to the part where it says Brand name as before. Show different angles of your product I did 3 pictures with angles. Then take a screen shot of the email they sent you where it says the 5665 error and make sure the date is on the email. Hopefully it works brother 🫡

Yes bro sorry for the late reply. When they don’t approve you they send you this list down below ⬇️ , so start again not another listing but make an inquiry like you did before to get brand approval but add the steps below and take different angles of your product packaging
- The brand name used while creating the listing.
- Images of the product and packaging, which shows branding on either. The images can show the product and packaging when either held in hand, or placed on a table. The branding must be permanently affixed.
- The latest screenshot of the error code 5665 with the registered brand name and time stamp visible in the background.

I have an existing listing that's almost 8 years old, but I've never pursued Brand Approval for my company name. I followed your video and found the "Brand Approval Required" popup and applied to sell. It appears my Company Name is available for Brand Name approval (or at least it said "You have entered a brand name that has not been approved by Amazon..."

Hello James, I watched all of your videos few times regarding Brand Approval and GTIN Exemption. I have got my products from China. It's a hair clip and I had to put Brand label using transparent sticker. Amazon kept saying "do not see sufficient proof that the branding is permanently affixed to the product or packaging, per the Brand Name Policy". Any suggestion how to overcome this. Please help and advice.

After you are approved for that listing for your brand are you going to have to do the apply again to list other products from your brand? Example: I listed a shampoo for the listing brand application that was approved if I want to list conditioner or hair brushes do I need to go through the same steps or would I be okay to list other products under my brand?
What happens if my business name is different than my storefront name? Amazon is asking for me to approve the corporation name rather than the storefront name.

Can you have more than one account as Amazon seller ?
Technically yes, but be careful because you could run into issues with account association. This is where Amazon sees you've got several accounts open, and thinks its suspicious, so it causes trouble.
I recommend reaching out to Amazon beforehand if possible. And generally speaking, take more precautions/manage more carefully. You never know what will trigger an account review. Best of luck!

Dear James, it looks like I did it backward: instead of getting approval with my brand name first, I got the SKU with 'Generic". So, is it still changeable, I should go back into the listing to get an approval? Should I ask my supplier to print the brand name on the package or on the product to do the image documents?
