In the U.S. it takes between 6-9 months to get a trademark . I’m currently in the process of getting mine through USPTO. It doesn’t even get seen until 2-3 months after filing approval date.

Good question! You will not be able to go back into the listing and change the brand name. The only way you will be able to do that is by requesting that Seller Support change it for you and again you would need to get your brand approved for them to do that. They also won't always do this. It can be a bit of a hassle in my experience. In regard to whether it's an issue to send in branded stock if the listing states 'generic'. I doubt that would be an issue as there isn't that kind of communication with the warehouse staff checking stock in and the office teams, however I can't say 100%. Best option would be to get seller support to update the brand name before you send stock in, if you're able to

Have anybody or have you approved through this method? Because i’m getting same robotic reply from SS that you need to submit photo’s through this link. Which is i already submitted by SS ticket once I submitted, robotic email replied me ‘you need to submit blah blah blah through this link’ than again that link doesn’t provide any submit option so I submitted everything again through SS email.... over and over again. Have you really received approved through this? Or anybody?
I've applied 4 times and all 4 have been declined with error 5665. I provided 4 photos of my product at different angles, a photo of my product in my hand and even a photo of the packaging in my hand with my logo clear as day and they still keep rejecting it saying they need "real world photos" wtf!? They are noticeably "real world" photos. At this point Amazon is a joke. I called they seller central customer service phone number, it rings, then dead silence. If you have a better phone number please provide it.
What a nightmare! If you want to speak with Seller Support there isn’t a number you can call, instead you need to request a call back though the help center.
Hey! Ship from address should be the address you are shipping the goods from. So either your manufacturers address or warehouse address. SPD should be used when your shopping loose boxes and LTL should be used when shipping pallets
You want to select EAN (if your in the UK) or UPC (if youre in the US) then enter the barcode you have for that variation. You need one barcode (EAN/UPC) per variation/child listing
hi mate, i have used N/A and my shipment is on its way to amazon. do you have any more information on how to change it back to my brand name, i am not a registered brand and i dont have a trademark. i know i have messed up but i cant find a good explanation on how to change this.
@@leighjones9162 Hey, the best way to solve this is to get in contact with Seller Support and going through the process of getting your brand approved using images of your branded product & packaging as outlined in the video. Then once your brand is approved, ask SS to change the listing from N/A to your brand name for you. Hope that helps buddy!

Hey, if it's a brand that is already sold on Amazon, then you can just use the existing listing in Amazons catalogue. If the brand isn't already sold on Amazon, just send in pictures of the branded product in your hand to get brand approval. You don't need to prove to Amazon that you own the brand.

Good question! There’s two ways, firstly you can check if there are any existing trademarks for your brand name on the GOV.UK website. Secondly just search your brand name on Amazon to see if any other sellers are selling products under that brand name.
@@StellaM22 To get approval, the logo must be 'Permanently Affixed' to the outside of the product packaging or product itself so I do not think branded tissue paper would work but you could always try.

Good question, that's something that quite a few people have asked me! The truth is, I've never sent in unbranded products so I'm not 100% sure. The chances are that Amazon will not check your stock to make sure it matches the images sent in for brand approval, however it's always best practice to avoid any deception when it comes to Amazon so I would advise sending in branded products/packaging that match the product images you sent in for brand approval.
Hey, if you log into your GS1 account, you can then find your purchased barcodes and assign a product to that barcode inside the GS1 website. You can then use that GS1 barcode to create your product listing. Remember if your using FBA, you need to apply your FNSKU barcode to the products you send into Amazon, not the GS1 barcode.

Cheers, glad you found it helpful! No that shouldn't be a problem at all. When you email Seller Support requesting brand approval you state the brand name so as long as that brand name is on product somewhere you should be fine.

Hey, I'm afraid I've never come across that error message before. Gave it a Google and also couldn't find any info unfortunately. It may not be to do with the brand name area on the listing so I would get in contact with Seller Support and find out what the issue is first.

Hi Mario, if your brand name is 'Wearing Amazonia' then I would request brand approval for the brand name 'wearing amazonia' and if accepted use the brand name 'wearing amazonia' on your product listing. Amazon may accept a picture of one of your T-shirts that just has 'Amazonia' printed on it, to approve the brand name 'wearing amazonia'. It's worth a go. If not, then it is probably worth printing one t shirt with 'wearing amazonia' on it for brand approval or alternatively, you could try and photoshop 'wearing amazonia' logo onto a plain t shirt image and using that. My issue is, I've bought my products through UK wholesale suppliers and I was not intending to put a logo on the product as they will not do it for me and these are not products that are exclusively mine as I did not have them manufactured. They are all gift items like wall signs etc. What should I do in my case? I could photoshop my logo like you said but then the products would go out unbranded. The products are at my house ready to ship to Amazon so what if I have some small stickers with my brand logo on made and stick them on the packaging or product?
Hey Nick, thats a tricky one! If the wholesaler is selling to other retailers then the product you want to list may already have been added to the Amazon catalogue, so I would check to see if a listing exists already first. If not, you can create an Amazon listing with the brand name as 'Generic'. If you really want to list under your own brand name, Amazon won't accept pictures of your product with logo stickers on, they need to be 'permanently attached', therefore photoshoping a logo on for brand approval is probably your best bet. It is unlikely Amazon will check your stock when it arrives to see if it matches the photos sent in for brand approval. However that said, I would always advise against doing anything deceptive with Amazon, so you may want to simply create a listing with 'generic' as the brand name to be safe.

Hey, it's probably due to an error in one of the information fields you've entered or missing information. I have seen this happen before due to the 'brand name' section. Your brand name must be enrolled in Amazon brand registry or have brand approval, if it doesn't, your listing may not go live. Hope that helps!

@@enricog9540 Ahh I see, the actual brand name is “HP Paper Ream”. That is very frustrating! Unfortunately your only two options here are to keep going back to Seller Support, opening a new case until you get someone different who approves the brand. Alternatively trademark you brand name and apply for brand registry. However that will take several months.

Hey, when you say labels, do you mean your logo or do you mean FNSKU barcodes? If you mean FNSKU barcodes, yes you need to send every unit into Amazon with FNSKU barcode labels on them.
A few people have asked me this recently. I would be very surprised if Amazon checked your stock to make sure it matched the image you sent in to get brand approval, however I'm not 100% sure as I've never sent in unbranded items. The most important thing is that your product images match what stock you send in. Don't have logo branded products on your product images and then send in stock without logos as then it would count as false advertising to the customer and that would be against Amazons TOS.
@@LucaDavenport I am also facing this issue. Just for brand approval, I can manage to print my company logo onto the packaging. But, when I will send my inventory to the Amazon warehouse, I cannot print my logo onto the packaging because the MOQ for printing my logo onto packaging is really high, so what I will do? I will put my product in a zipper bag and I will insert a hard card (having my logo onto it) into the zipper bag. So this will work or not?
i snapped and sent the physically branded packages and they where rejected as digitally added which is not true. i tried reuploading again yet i keep getting an email that the case is closed and can not be resubmitted. how do i go about this now
After getting error 5665, I requested approval and sent in pictures of my product in-hand with brand logo permanently affixed. They denied me with the following explanation, "we do not see sufficient proof that the branding on the product and/or packaging distinguishes the product(s) from other, similar products that are not branded." If you are selling exactly the same product as an existing listing, then you can use an existing listing. If your product is slightly different, then you should create a new listing
Yep, it can all be edited after creating the listing, however sometimes it can be a bit of a pain to edit as changes don't always go through and you may have to get in contact with Seller Support to get the changes made. If your listing is not properly completed it can also trigger a HAZMAT review, therefore I would recommend that you spend the time creating your listing properly the first time round.
we agreed with a brand, but someone else registered the brand, now we can't register ourselvers. I have documents from the brand that I am the authorized dealer of the brand.Is there a way to gain access to the panel? How can i get rid of this scammer.
To enrol in brand registry the seller needs to prove ownership of the trademark so I'm not sure how a 'scammer' could do that unless they owned the trademark.
If I have my own store name logo on product and not on other value added so will Amazon accept that brand name without registration in listing creating.

Hey, if you can't click save, then it means you are missing essential information that needs to be filled in before you can create the listing. Make sure you have clicked the advanced view tap and look for any highlighted fields that you haven't filled out. Should fix the issue!
If your applying for brand approval without a trademark then you shouldn’t need a website for your brand, just pictures of you holding your product & packaging with the brands logo on it.
I sent in photos with my brand name on the labeling and they denied it because they said a sticker on the box is not “permanently affixed” but my mom sent in the same photo of hers and was approved. My only guess, other than approval sometimes just depends on which associate reviews it, is that when she signed up as a seller she did so with her other businesses EIN and I used my SSN so idk 🤷🏽♂️
Hey so stickers are not considered permanently affixed so normally won't be accepted, however I've had students who send in the same photo with a sticker 3/4 times and then on the final time it was accepted. As you said, it's down to the customer service rep you get!

Good question! I'm not 100% sure, however I'm fairly sure that you wouldn't be able to as the trademark normally needs to be from the country that your are applying for brand registry in.

You won’t need any GS1 barcodes on your products when you take pictures to send into Amazon for brand approval. If you are selling via FBA you do not want to get GS1 barcodes printed on your product packaging, you will want to get your FNSKU barcodes printed on your product packaging.
Nope you need an EAN / UPC to create the listing then you can generate the FNSKU barcode that you apply to products you are sending into Amazon’s fulfillment centres.
Hello Luca, thx for explaining. i want to ask something about this brand, i hope u would answer, i added my products as Generic but i had some error when creating list at first and it wasnt allowed to edit, so i deleted my list and re-added. after a month more or less, my product's medium size started to list under a different brand's product as a color variation. that product was totaly different than my product but as a system fault its just happened. and my product's medium size stopped to showing up under my list. only small and large are showing up on my size variation now. i created cases many times and also tried to make calls too . but allways seller support tells me i am not able to make changes because i am not owner of that brand. i try to explain them this asin is belongs to my medium size variation and its not belong that brand. but they keep telling me you can not update information about this product its owned by a brand bla bla. what should i do to fix this.
Hi mate, when I try to use N/A I get an error message saying ‘You are using UPCs, EANs that do not match the products you are trying to list - have you or anybody else ever had this issue before, its a new product with no brand so I’m not sure how to get around it
Hey, are you using a UPC / EAN bought from GS1? Amazon now only accepts GS1 barcodes so that is likely the issue if you are not using ones bough from them.

It's hard to say I'm afraid! If you want to be 100% safe I would always suggest using GS1 barcodes but if it's allowed you to create the listing, you should be fine.

I am having such a hard time with this. I contact SS 3 different times, and gave me a robotic you have to register with brand registry to be approved. I just invest $250, and i cannot even use it. How do they expect me to register/ invest $1k+ for trademark when i haven't even tested out my product yet or they are making it so difficult now? So I went with the NA, so i could edit my name, but it got stuck. Also could not convert it to FBA. I deleted listing, but my asin is locked to the NA brand. I contacted amazon again to see if i can get some final solution to this issue, but no response yet.
What a nightmare, sorry to hear you're having issues! As mentioned in the video, I would suggest emailing SS and quoting 'error 5665' + provide images of your product / product packaging with your brands logo printed onto it. That should hopefully do the trick!

Hey, I'm afraid you're just going to have to keep waiting. I've been told by some of my students that wait times are quite long at the moment from brand approval and brand registry approval.
As explained in the video, you need to either have a trademark and apply for 'brand registry' or if you don't have a trademark, get 'brand approval', which are two different things. To get 'brand approval' you need to send in pics of your product or packaging with your lol on it. So either branded samples, printed sample packaging or photoshop.

Have anybody or have you approved through this method? Because i’m getting same robotic reply from SS that you need to submit photo’s through this link. Which is i already submitted by SS ticket once I submitted, robotic email replied me ‘you need to submit blah blah blah through this link’ than again that link doesn’t provide any submit option so I submitted everything again through SS email.... over and over again.

I've applied 4 times and all 4 have been declined with error 5665. I provided 4 photos of my product at different angles, a photo of my product in my hand and even a photo of the packaging in my hand with my logo clear as day and they still keep rejecting it saying they need "real world photos" wtf!? They are noticeably "real world" photos. At this point Amazon is a joke. I called they seller central customer service phone number, it rings, then dead silence. If you have a better phone number please provide it.
What a nightmare! If you want to speak with Seller Support there isn’t a number you can call, instead you need to request a call back though the help center.

Hey! Ship from address should be the address you are shipping the goods from. So either your manufacturers address or warehouse address. SPD should be used when your shopping loose boxes and LTL should be used when shipping pallets

You want to select EAN (if your in the UK) or UPC (if youre in the US) then enter the barcode you have for that variation. You need one barcode (EAN/UPC) per variation/child listing

@@leighjones9162 Hey, the best way to solve this is to get in contact with Seller Support and going through the process of getting your brand approved using images of your branded product & packaging as outlined in the video. Then once your brand is approved, ask SS to change the listing from N/A to your brand name for you. Hope that helps buddy!

Hey, if it's a brand that is already sold on Amazon, then you can just use the existing listing in Amazons catalogue. If the brand isn't already sold on Amazon, just send in pictures of the branded product in your hand to get brand approval. You don't need to prove to Amazon that you own the brand.

Good question! There’s two ways, firstly you can check if there are any existing trademarks for your brand name on the GOV.UK website. Secondly just search your brand name on Amazon to see if any other sellers are selling products under that brand name.

Hey, unfortunately Amazon won't accept logos on stickers as it doesn't count as 'permanently affixed'.

@@StellaM22 To get approval, the logo must be 'Permanently Affixed' to the outside of the product packaging or product itself so I do not think branded tissue paper would work but you could always try.

Good question, that's something that quite a few people have asked me! The truth is, I've never sent in unbranded products so I'm not 100% sure. The chances are that Amazon will not check your stock to make sure it matches the images sent in for brand approval, however it's always best practice to avoid any deception when it comes to Amazon so I would advise sending in branded products/packaging that match the product images you sent in for brand approval.

How do I assign my gs1 barcodes to products, do I have to print them. How do I do that? Should I contact gs1? Please help
Hey, if you log into your GS1 account, you can then find your purchased barcodes and assign a product to that barcode inside the GS1 website. You can then use that GS1 barcode to create your product listing. Remember if your using FBA, you need to apply your FNSKU barcode to the products you send into Amazon, not the GS1 barcode.

Suppose If I had a brand name but I have a slogan written underneath or on top of the logo/brand name in smaller letters, but just want specifically that brand name on the listing, would Amazon require me to have to use all the characters in the logo or can I specify this to them?
Cheers, glad you found it helpful! No that shouldn't be a problem at all. When you email Seller Support requesting brand approval you state the brand name so as long as that brand name is on product somewhere you should be fine.

Hey, I'm afraid I've never come across that error message before. Gave it a Google and also couldn't find any info unfortunately. It may not be to do with the brand name area on the listing so I would get in contact with Seller Support and find out what the issue is first.

Hi Mario, if your brand name is 'Wearing Amazonia' then I would request brand approval for the brand name 'wearing amazonia' and if accepted use the brand name 'wearing amazonia' on your product listing. Amazon may accept a picture of one of your T-shirts that just has 'Amazonia' printed on it, to approve the brand name 'wearing amazonia'. It's worth a go. If not, then it is probably worth printing one t shirt with 'wearing amazonia' on it for brand approval or alternatively, you could try and photoshop 'wearing amazonia' logo onto a plain t shirt image and using that. My issue is, I've bought my products through UK wholesale suppliers and I was not intending to put a logo on the product as they will not do it for me and these are not products that are exclusively mine as I did not have them manufactured. They are all gift items like wall signs etc. What should I do in my case? I could photoshop my logo like you said but then the products would go out unbranded. The products are at my house ready to ship to Amazon so what if I have some small stickers with my brand logo on made and stick them on the packaging or product?
Hey Nick, thats a tricky one! If the wholesaler is selling to other retailers then the product you want to list may already have been added to the Amazon catalogue, so I would check to see if a listing exists already first. If not, you can create an Amazon listing with the brand name as 'Generic'. If you really want to list under your own brand name, Amazon won't accept pictures of your product with logo stickers on, they need to be 'permanently attached', therefore photoshoping a logo on for brand approval is probably your best bet. It is unlikely Amazon will check your stock when it arrives to see if it matches the photos sent in for brand approval. However that said, I would always advise against doing anything deceptive with Amazon, so you may want to simply create a listing with 'generic' as the brand name to be safe.

Hey, it's probably due to an error in one of the information fields you've entered or missing information. I have seen this happen before due to the 'brand name' section. Your brand name must be enrolled in Amazon brand registry or have brand approval, if it doesn't, your listing may not go live. Hope that helps!

To me that sounds like they are happy to accept the brand name 'HP' so maybe try to use that in your product listing and get approval for just 'HP'.

Unfortunately your only two options here are to keep going back to Seller Support, opening a new case until you get someone different who approves the brand. Alternatively trademark you brand name and apply for brand registry. However that will take several months.

Hey, when you say labels, do you mean your logo or do you mean FNSKU barcodes? If you mean FNSKU barcodes, yes you need to send every unit into Amazon with FNSKU barcode labels on them.

A few people have asked me this recently. I would be very surprised if Amazon checked your stock to make sure it matched the image you sent in to get brand approval, however I'm not 100% sure as I've never sent in unbranded items. The most important thing is that your product images match what stock you send in. Don't have logo branded products on your product images and then send in stock without logos as then it would count as false advertising to the customer and that would be against Amazons TOS.

But, when I will send my inventory to the Amazon warehouse, I cannot print my logo onto the packaging because the MOQ for printing my logo onto packaging is really high, so what I will do? I will put my product in a zipper bag and I will insert a hard card (having my logo onto it) into the zipper bag. So this will work or not?

After getting error 5665, I requested approval and sent in pictures of my product in-hand with brand logo permanently affixed. They denied me with the following explanation, "we do not see sufficient proof that the branding on the product and/or packaging distinguishes the product(s) from other, similar products that are not branded." Any ideas?

If you are selling exactly the same product as an existing listing, then you can use an existing listing. If your product is slightly different, then you should create a new listing
Can the keywords and all those other listing content be edited after saving? I just want to get the fnsku barcode to my supplier asap.
Yep, it can all be edited after creating the listing, however sometimes it can be a bit of a pain to edit as changes don't always go through and you may have to get in contact with Seller Support to get the changes made. If your listing is not properly completed it can also trigger a HAZMAT review, therefore I would recommend that you spend the time creating your listing properly the first time round.

To enrol in brand registry the seller needs to prove ownership of the trademark so I'm not sure how a 'scammer' could do that unless they owned the trademark.

If I have my own store name logo on product and not on other value added so will Amazon accept that brand name without registration in listing creating.
If your brand name is permanently affixed to the product, then yes you should be able to send pictures into Seller Support and get ‘Brand Approval’

Hey, if you can't click save, then it means you are missing essential information that needs to be filled in before you can create the listing. Make sure you have clicked the advanced view tap and look for any highlighted fields that you haven't filled out. Should fix the issue!

I sent in photos with my brand name on the labeling and they denied it because they said a sticker on the box is not “permanently affixed” but my mom sent in the same photo of hers and was approved. My only guess, other than approval sometimes just depends on which associate reviews it, is that when she signed up as a seller she did so with her other businesses EIN and I used my SSN so idk 🤷🏽♂️
Hey so stickers are not considered permanently affixed so normally won't be accepted, however I've had students who send in the same photo with a sticker 3/4 times and then on the final time it was accepted. As you said, it's down to the customer service rep you get!

Good question! I'm not 100% sure, however I'm fairly sure that you wouldn't be able to as the trademark normally needs to be from the country that your are applying for brand registry in.

Hello thank you for the video.. I have opened a case with the brand qualification application with Amazon. It has been more than 1 week and they still reviewing my case after I submitted everything they requested. Should I open another case with images attached again to speed up the process or just wait now?

Amazon are cracking down on sellers using non GS1 barcodes so I would advise using a GS1 barcode

You won’t need any GS1 barcodes on your products when you take pictures to send into Amazon for brand approval. If you are selling via FBA you do not want to get GS1 barcodes printed on your product packaging, you will want to get your FNSKU barcodes printed on your product packaging.
Oh. Can I list a product without UPC/EAN?
Nope you need an EAN / UPC to create the listing then you can generate the FNSKU barcode that you apply to products you are sending into Amazon’s fulfillment centres.
Hello Luca, thx for explaining. i want to ask something about this brand, i hope u would answer, i added my products as Generic but i had some error when creating list at first and it wasnt allowed to edit, so i deleted my list and re-added. after a month more or less, my product's medium size started to list under a different brand's product as a color variation. that product was totaly different than my product but as a system fault its just happened. and my product's medium size stopped to showing up under my list. only small and large are showing up on my size variation now. i created cases many times and also tried to make calls too . but allways seller support tells me i am not able to make changes because i am not owner of that brand. i try to explain them this asin is belongs to my medium size variation and its not belong that brand. but they keep telling me you can not update information about this product its owned by a brand bla bla. what should i do to fix this.

Hey, are you using a UPC / EAN bought from GS1? Amazon now only accepts GS1 barcodes so that is likely the issue if you are not using ones bough from them.

It's hard to say I'm afraid! If you want to be 100% safe I would always suggest using GS1 barcodes but if it's allowed you to create the listing, you should be fine.

I am having such a hard time with this. I contact SS 3 different times, and gave me a robotic you have to register with brand registry to be approved. I just invest $250, and i cannot even use it. How do they expect me to register/ invest $1k+ for trademark when i haven't even tested out my product yet or they are making it so difficult now? So I went with the NA, so i could edit my name, but it got stuck. Also could not convert it to FBA. I deleted listing, but my asin is locked to the NA brand. I contacted amazon again to see if i can get some final solution to this issue, but no response yet.
What a nightmare, sorry to hear you're having issues! As mentioned in the video, I would suggest emailing SS and quoting 'error 5665' + provide images of your product / product packaging with your brands logo printed onto it. That should hopefully do the trick!

Hello Luca, as a new Amazon seller I was so excited to hear the first part of your video where you said we don't need to have a brand name registered. Then you turn around and say we actually need to create a brand name😞You completely let me down. Next time don't waste peoople's time with untruths, even if your video get shorter, i'll be appreciated. This video wated my time.Nothing new in your content.

Hey, I'm afraid you're just going to have to keep waiting. I've been told by some of my students that wait times are quite long at the moment from brand approval and brand registry approval.
So the solution is to register your brand!?? Lol how do i list without brand registry
As explained in the video, you need to either have a trademark and apply for 'brand registry' or if you don't have a trademark, get 'brand approval', which are two different things. To get 'brand approval' you need to send in pics of your product or packaging with your lol on it. So either branded samples, printed sample packaging or photoshop.
This video is useless I want to post an item , that is not branded. I’m not paying thousands of dollars for to get a brand and then end up not selling.
We should even change the name of the business itself.. Even Amazon rain forest is protesting by giving no oxygen and entire human race is dieing... I am sure it make no sense to use such names..

Bro did you just say they’re not to keen to .png ? That’s because .png is for Transparent images if you’re dumb enough to send amazon a .png file you deserve to lose your seller account lol it’s a dead give away
