I’m 25, and honestly HSM was my entire life as a young teen. Changed everything for me. So glad we had something so great and the role models to look up to. Disney was the best back then, nothing like it is now.

Disney from 2010 onwards is very different from older Disney like Get A Clue, HSM, The Cheetah Girls, Hocus Pocus, Lizzie McGuire movie etc. I actually enjoyed Lemonade Mouth though, even though I feel like I had outgrown the new era of Disney by that time😅💀💖

@@ikexbankai He was like right in the middle of filming a movie during the reunion and I think it was in a different country if I'm not mistaken, so it wouldn't have made sense to go scheduling wise and practicality wise
All ex-Disney child stars went through that phase for a while... It's because Disney monitored and censored them so much from a young age that once they got out of it, they wanted to distance themselves from the brand as much as possible or else people would forever remember them as what Disney wanted them to be portrayed as - as kids. The Jonas Brothers recently mentioned the censorship by Disney during their Carpool Karaoke interview! Either Miley or Selena, not sure which one it was, also mentioned that there was never a real rift between them after they left Disney, just that they both tried so hard to distance themselves from the sugarcoated brand at the same time. By now most child/teen stars from Disney have become their own brand though, so it's good to see them recall their earlier days without any discomfort :)

I'm so glad Zac is in the place where he's comfortable talking about HSM again. When he used to say in interviews that he didn't remember anything about them, I always used to feel almost hurt. HSM was my childhood. Also, he is looking absolutely amazing and seems really comfortable in this interview. I can't wait to see what's next for Mr Efron

HSM came out when I was 21 and a senior in COLLEGE and watched it on the regular back then. Now with Disney Plus, I'm watching all 3 movies on the regular and I'm 35 with 3 kids. No Shame. I'm all for Zac. He made those movies everything for me!

It's nice to hear him talk so fondly of High School Musical. Everyone tries to paint this image that he's ashamed of them and would rather not talk about them, but he knows they were his big break and it's clear he's actually proud of them and happy to look back on the memories. His dancing WAS good. He has an innate way of moving that looks natural, masculine, committed and cool. Zac really is talented.

You can feel these are questions he wants to actually ask and people want to hear. The result is a compelling interviews consistently.

I just finished a HSM marathon and came to RUclips to find this surprising interview!! Zac hated talking about HSM or even mentioning Vanessa, so seeing him speak so comfortable and saying the fans get it, made me scream from happiness! Can you blame them? Outside of their fandoms, these guys got _heavily_ ridiculed for these movies (Twilight & High School Musical) where trying to break it as an actor in more serious roless is near impossible because people (outside the fandom) won't take them seriously. Happened to other teenage heartthrobs too, i.e. Leonardo DiCaprio distanced himself from Titanic.

I was born in 1984, so I started watching HSM when my oldest son was 8 years old. We have seen the 2nd and 3rd movies HUNDREDS of times. It brings our entire family so much joy, especially during the summer when we are all home together. I don’t know how I even lived before watching Troy’s solo…. Songs? Dances? Tantrums? The absolute best!
He's definitely grown mature over those years and look how far he’s come from all those movies he’s done. I’m so proud of this guy. Fame hasn’t change a thing for him. Still that awkward, shy and humble dude. He doesn’t deserve the hate which I don’t get why sometimes. He deserves all the love and being more appreciated.
Fun fact: my teacher use to go to school with Zach Efron he use to show his acting tapes in class and my teacher has yearbook to prove
