    Great review of one of the best places to dive in the Caribbean guys! Have to agree with Jeff on #1 being the amazing Frederiksted Pier!

    Thanks Jeff and Evan. Can't beat the Pier day or night always awesome. Your list is excellent. We like the mini drift from Twin Palms to Cane Bay also. Always Black Tips around and great topography. Thanks again !!!

    Guys -- Always enjoy your videos. My last (most recent) dive on STX was a night dive on the pier in December... it never disappoints. Most of my diving down there is via boat on the north shore, but I really look forward to checking out a few of the other shore dives that you outlined in your video. Heading down next month for a few weeks April/May and look forward to checking out some of your faves.

      Thanks for your comment Tom! Happy to hear you got to do a night dive at the Pier - it is definitely a special dive site. If you’re here for a few weeks I’m sure you’ll be able to check out some of our favorites. Enjoy!

    Great info, as usual! I would side with Jeff and say the F'Sted Pier is #1 - "The Pier Never Disappoints!!" that rings so true. I think Tracy would side with Evan and say that NorthStar is top of the list. My #2 is Butler Ridge.....it just reminds me of what Caribbean diving should be with all of the life and the natural structures look like something you'd have in a salt water aquarium, but they're just 100 times larger, lol.

      We’re so spoiled on St Croix with such amazing and diverse shore diving options. There’s really no other place like it. 😀

      St. Croix has some amazing diving. You’ll love it here. The Pier and the wall dive at Cane Bay have the easiest entries. 👍

      Hi Carl - Thank you for the wonderful compliment! We truly believe that St. Croix has the best variety of diving in the Caribbean. We enjoy spreading the word about the diving here and meeting people that have traveled to St. Croix because of our videos. I hope you can make it for a visit sometime! - - Sara

    Another great video. Thank you for making it. It looks like you guys are diving regular air when you're doing 30 feet or less. Do you ever use nitrox on these shallow dives, if so, what percentage?

    • @TritonsRealm
      @TritonsRealm  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! We typically dive regular air on shallow dives. However we will chose to use Nitrox at times. The percentage depends on what we want our max operating depth (MOD) to be. As an example if we want to dive a wreck in 113’ of water we might go with 31% which would give us an MOD of 116’. Great question! And thanks again for watching.

      Thanks for getting back to me Jeff.
      That puts your PO2 real close to the 1.4.
      As I've gotten older, I find the shallower dives more in my comfort zone. I like 40 to 60. I'll do 85 or 90 as long as I know where the bottom is at. That's no problem for me in South Florida. That's where most of my diving is done.

    • @TritonsRealm
      @TritonsRealm  2 года назад +1

      @@davelundergoesunder Very nice. Yes, we typically plan for a PO2 of 1.4. When we travel we tend to use Nitrox more, particularly when we’re on Liveaboards, then we’ll use Nitrox on every dive.
      On St. Croix we only have a couple dive shops that will fill Nitrox tanks and often our O2 supply on island is limited, so it’s not something we can get consistently.
