Man, I hate to see that duck tail rear fender go. To me they are sexy and distinguish the bike from other models. One serious question. Why change from belt drive to chain? I’ve had each on different bikes and the belt is so much nicer not having to clean and adjust every 500 miles. If there is a benefit to chain over belt, I can’t figure out what it would be.
Yeah you are correct Mate. Belts are Best ! If you have a hot-cam with heaps of cubic-inches and want to do wheel-stands , or continuously run it on a drag-strip, then chains are best for transferring horse-power to the ground. Please note you Can do wheelies ( wheel-stands ) with a belt rear-drive, just not lots/often/always !
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 1999 fxds dyna. I'm going a way different route with mine. I'm going for a old FL look. I about 1/4 the way through the build. When I'm done I'll try and get some pics or video for you to check out. It'll be a big contrast to what yours looks like.

I was able to hide it for a month before they knew it was in the back , lol .

Hey fellas I need a little advice. I have a 2012 Wide glide and I want to do a mid/narrow glide conversion on the front end. To get rid of that wide glide rake and throw a wider tire instead of the skinnier glide tire. Do I just need to swap the tree to get rid of that rake? If so what’s my best option? I have the stock forks and tree right now (49mm). If you got some time hit me back. Thanks
I can’t speak for sure about a 2012, but on this 99 some of the rake is in the tree and some is in the frame itself. Swapping to a 39mm narrow glide tree made it have the same rake as a lowrider
I’ve seen the question multiple times but man what rear fender did you use? I can’t stand the stock bobtail fender and can’t find shit online. I really like the fender you went with.
Great looking bike man, if you don't mind me asking, what was the total build cost roughly with all the parts & initial cost of the bike? Also where did you get the leather riding vest with the flag lining please?
You'd be much better off buying one already in good shape. I have a similar 99 fxdx I bought stock for 5500 that was already in great shape. I've already put 5k more into it to get pretty close to his level minus the chain drive swap (which alone costs about 1200 with labor). My bike was also already blacked out. My estimates knowing how much all his parts cost plus an estimated 2k he spent on the original bike plus labor for all that is well over 10k. That was alot of $$$$ in labor. You can see my bike stock and then now on Instagram @bradrickgray just so you get an idea.

im looking for a rear fender for my 2000 dyna, just wondering where you got yours from?

Good morning brother. What rear fender did you put on??
What did you do for the dual rotor conversion for the front end?

Beautiful build boys ! Congratulations
On the wide glides they have more front fork rake then the other dyna did u change something to in the triple trees to lessen the rake
