I just subscribed to your channel a few days ago and love watching the builds. I'm getting back into PC gaming and a friend is building me a custom PC. I decided to wait until the Strix 1080TI was released and this review looks like I made the right choice :) Love the channel btw.
I was able to get 2038 MHz on the core and maxed out the memory at 5778 MHz without touching voltage at all. Maxed out at 61c during the Heaven benchmark and is rock stable. Truly an amazing card.
Great video Kyle! I liked the music a lot and also appreciated how concise you were. And I really appreciate seeing 99% fps metrics. By far the best measure of how a game actually feels. Keep it up.

hi. ill be buying a graphics card later and i just can't decide.should i go for an rx 470 or 1060 3gb or should i just save more money so i can buy an rx 480? i want to run the make visuals great again mod on gta v. my psu is a 520w seasonic and an i3 6100. ill be playing on a 768p monitor. TIA.
That really is a tough decision but here are your options. The 1060 3gb is usually more expensive but more powerful than a 470. The downside is 3gb is not that much and won't hold as well. The 470 is affordable and will suit the needs for your monitor. If I were you I would get a rx 480 and then invest in a good 1080p monitor which shouldn't be that expensive. It may take a while but I would say it's worth it. Anyways it's your decision, just make sure you can find something on sale if you can.
Mehehe I've had the GTX 1060 3gb from EVGA and it works flawlessly ultra to high on most games at 1080p and it's paired with an i5 6500, if I were you I would try and get the 1060 6gb or maybe a 1070 but if you trying to save some money the 3gb 1060 is perfect
If you're on a budget, always and I repeat always go team red. Don't call me an AMD fanboy, I have 2 GTX 1080, not 1080ti, Strix OCs. Now that that's clear, let me tell you why. Nvidia is much more overpriced than AMD, so AMD almost always gives more for the same value but the reason I bought 2 1080s is because I had no choice. I wanted to game at those speeds because I had a 165 Hz 1440P monitor, the ASUS PG279Q which is the reason people buy Nvidia, unless they're fanboys! But don't buy a GPU yet! VEGA is coming out soon. Then, you can buy either a better card for the same price or an RX 480 for much much much cheaper. So either way, it's a win-win in you wait for Vega. It's coming out very soon. Check it out at the website, "ve.ga", yep, that's the link. It's coming out very soon. The cards are ready, the website is up, events telling people the architecture have happened, mass production has begun. The card should be out in May or June and in absolute worst case, it will definitely release by July! So I recommend, you wait and by the looks of it, you can do just that which is why you probably asked about saving up for an RX480. I hope I could help but without a doubt, you should wait till Vega comes out. I am too because right now, in the high-end GPU market, Nvidia is a monopoly and they're overpriced and when Vega comes out, they'll be crushed! Remember what happened to Intel? Again, the official website of vega, is ve.ga.
+The Magic Conch, that is wrong! The 470 is now faster than the 1060 after the new crimson drivers. Before, drivers were badly optimised which meant certain application that needed hardware acceleration/GPU acceleration could not use it properly. However, gaming performance was still literally, identical to that of the 1060 and now it's slightly better.

Finally we're getting cards with dual HDMI ports. One for 4K TV and the other to bitstream audio to a receiver. This will be particularly useful for users with older receivers that can't pass HDR and or 4k/60p video!
Exidrial there are three titans , including 2 titan xp's and one Maxwell's , one is titan XP AND one is titan Xp, that's what causing all the confusion.
Why? it's the same GPU with a different cooler. Adding another radiator to your car's engine makes it run cooler, but doesn't make your car any faster (if anything, it makes it slower because you added extra weight).
Ignafiltro Sanchez I use an aggressive fan curve on my 1070 strix and once everything settles in I sit around 62° and 70% fan speed. a FE card at 100% fan speed won't get anywhere close to that temp. on my testing a 10° difference in temp leads to about a 40mhz clock speed difference and that's on an OCed card. my testing was done on the same card though and Kyle's testing was comparing two different cards so there's a silicon lottery variable. I bet if Kyle made both cards the same temp he'd see the FE boost higher because that chip won the silicon lottery.
My second 980 TI made a huge improvement and I've had zero issues with it. I game on either a 65 inch 4k Samsung TV at 60 hz or a 24 inch Asus 1080p 144 hz monitor depending on what I'm playing and they rock in both circumstances.
Good Video, I tired to look if anyone asked about the kind of monitor that you mentioned however there were way to many comments to look through. Which I highly thought you'll find mine.
Heyyy Kyle! Can you do a tutorial for what to do when your newly built pc crashes or about something common that usually goes wrong, please? I need some trustworthy reassurance, and you're the guy. ^.^
Considering current 4K monitors are garbage, even the fastest on the market barely hits 75HZ, meanwhile you can get 2560X1440 at 144HZ for about 400 bucks for a decent panel.
Kyle, the Titan Xp has 3840 CUDA cores and 1582 MHz boost clock with 11.4Gb/s memory, you listed the specs for the old Titan XP, see, we knew this would get confusing
I just upgrade my Asus strix gtx1070 oc edition to Asus strix GTX 1080ti OC Edition yesterday. I'd say this card is absolutely a Beast !! I played Witcher 3 MAX Settings at 2560X1440p with 100FPS. the downside of this card is so powerful, temperature reach 75 degrees. I'm planning to watercooled my GPU soon to lower temp. Fans are silent though.
I have one coming in today, it's the final piece of my build and I cannot wait to start running games at max. Here's my build; GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1080 Ti OC CPU: i7-8700k MOBO: MSI Z370 Pro Carbon CPU cooler: Corsair H100i Case: NZXT 500i Ram: 16gb DDR4 3000hz Power Supply: EGVA 750w For storage I am running a 1tb ssd from samsung and a 4tb barracuda. this boi was spendy but he'll be worth it.
I expected a bit of overlooking of certain titles in the benchmark, but I'm glad you at least included Hitman and Watch Dogs 2. This card is a beast, I would recommend it for 1440p 144Hz or ultrawide 1440p over 4K though since some of the games I'm into won't give you 60 at max detail at 4K.
Got the Aorus instead to replace my Strix GTX 980ti. Better price, better clock out of the box, and better warranty (4 years). I had my eyes on the Strix for the 1080 ti but just couldn't justify the higher cost and lesser offerings than the Aorus. My card is quiet, cool (between 68 & 73 deg) and most of all fast with an OC stable clock at 2034 and 1397 memory clock. Very happy with my purchase.
Wow it's so freaking close to getting 4K 60FPS Ultra settings! I hope the 2080 or 1180 is officially the single card to do this with almost no drops below 60FPS at 4K on all games that came out the month before it released. (hopefully it maintains that performance with the games that come out after its release for at least a year provided they get good optimization.)
My Z270 Asus Rog Apex came today and I just order my Asus GTX 1080TI OC .OmG!!! $826 just for the card! Sold my EVGA 1080sc in less than an hour on EBay . Hope I see a bigger difference when I go on Steam.

Why? it's the same GPU with a different cooler. Adding another radiator to your car's engine makes it run cooler, but doesn't make your car any faster (if anything, it makes it slower because you added extra weight).
Alex Smith you're wrong. because of the way gpu boost 3.0 works the cooler the card the higher the clocks will boost.
If you overclock this becomes almost invalid, since the fan speed will increase accordingly.
Yo Kyle damn good music choice for this vid.
Why buy two bro!! SLI is only for benchmarking as gaming performance sucks. One is good enough
Doing fine here 1080Ti SLI
My second 980 TI made a huge improvement and I've had zero issues with it. I game on either a 65 inch 4k Samsung TV at 60 hz or a 24 inch Asus 1080p 144 hz monitor depending on what I'm playing and they rock in both circumstances.
As a Metal fan, I greatly appreciate your benchmark tunes. Keep it up, yo.
i only care about the rgb
Good Video, I tired to look if anyone asked about the kind of monitor that you mentioned however there were way to many comments to look through. Which I highly thought you'll find mine.
But can it run CSGO on low settings
Overripepotato in 1024*768?
Overripepotato no it can run in a solid 5 fps
Overripepotato You need atleast 300 of these to get close to 20 fps
Maybe in 720x480..maybe.
Wasn't expecting that music with those stats, but man that double bass got me hyped
1440p60>4k30
Heyyy Kyle! Can you do a tutorial for what to do when your newly built pc crashes or about something common that usually goes wrong, please? I need some trustworthy reassurance, and you're the guy. ^.^
still not a proper 4k card
PickeringSamuel the witcher 3 on ultra has constant 50+ fps with this card in 4k pretty good ...
i think "1440p" with much more extra FPS is better than 4K.
*Happy Squealing*
That djent soundtrack for the benchmark soothed my soul... Mmmmmmmmm. Beautiful....
1170 is gonna outperform this $800 card in a year or two.
1270 is gonna outperform the 1170 in a year or two. Whats your point lol just fuck off
Konstantin Demenko the 8xx series was only for laptops gpus
Its gonna be teh 2070, not the 1170
GENIUS! lol
My 3090 is laughing very hard right now…
I personally like my Founders Edition. I mean, yea. It's little warm...and the green logo is growing on me! Stands out in all the black and red.
I just bought one! It's arriving in two days, so excited! Although if it's able to hit 70fps at 4k two of these in SLI is completely overkill xD
"That sentence was more redundant than a raid 10 array" 😂😂😂 I love you Kyle
now that i have watched all the video, yes I'm totaly going to buy this card :) and you got my like, nice review over all :D
I have one coming in today, it's the final piece of my build and I cannot wait to start running games at max. Here's my build;
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1080 Ti OC
CPU: i7-8700k
MOBO: MSI Z370 Pro Carbon
CPU cooler: Corsair H100i
Case: NZXT 500i
Ram: 16gb DDR4 3000hz
Power Supply: EGVA 750w
For storage I am running a 1tb ssd from samsung and a 4tb barracuda.
this boi was spendy but he'll be worth it.
Digging the metal backing tracks lately
I bought this card 3 days ago and man I love the preformance this card shows on my X34A! 😎
Kyle, you're a badass. Another perfectly on-point video.
I absolutly LOVE the STRIX cards! They look so slick and agressive
