Wowza lady! This was the fastest and bestest embossing powder tutorial I have ever seen! I love all of it. I’m also gonna SAVE it to favorites! Thanks so much for putting this together!
Great tips! Thank you, I get sucked into buying the pretty colours and then don't know quite what to do with them! I will re watch this in my craft room with my heat gun in one hand and embossing powder in the other!
Thank you so much for the detailed information about embossing powder... actually I m new in embossing....could you please let me know if i will use embossing powder on wood can I use varnish on it?
I really need to stop watching videos like this, it just makes me want to buy ALL the embossing powders! I have the basic colours - black, white, silver and gold. I thought I was super fancy because I found a cheap purple and I even splashed out and bought the sticky stuff from Ranger and Rose Gold from Lawn Fawn. But now I WANT THEM ALL! I had told myself that I wouldn't really use the fancy ones, and then you come along with your fabulous videos and teach all these awesome ideas and *sigh*. Oh well. All jokes aside, thanks for sharing these ideas. I love them, and yes, I will go ahead and buy some fancy ones I'm sure. I mixed together a little bit of purple and gold and I've been amazed at what I've been able to do with that, so I know I'll be able to find things to do with other stuff. You're a delight and an inspiration. Keep up the great work.
@@LaurelBeard I literally just pressed pay on an order that included two 3-packs of Wow embossing powder! *hangs head in shame* Thanks for being such a fun enabler though. :-)
Laurel! Thank you! My other fav with embossing powders is to use it on acetate to create stained glass. I use the translucent powders and it looks really pretty in the sunlight!
OMgosh Laurel great video. Loved every technique. Don't know that I would have the patience for the water but loved, loved the rainbow. Thanks so much for all your videos. YOU ARE AWESOME.
Thank you for this! I was so excited to get my embossing powder and heat tool a while back but quickly lost interest when i ran out of ideas. But this has really opened up a lot of options for me to try out. I make handmade journals and altered notebooks. Now I can't wait to try some of these ideas on some journal covers and journaling cards. Water!? Omg! I remember wandering if it was possible to use water but instantly thought "what a silly idea!" Cuz surely if you could use water someone would have been advertising that already. But then i seen this and I'm blown away! That might be my favorite technique to try. I can't wait to get to work on it but had to say thank you first. You've gained a new subscriber with me! ❤
First time learning about embossing and truly enjoyed this video. I have browsed through other videos in the past with little interest. I just ordered a starter kit. What is the magnetic pad used for? Thank you for sharing.
It's a stamping Positioner called the MISTI (I think that is what you are referring to). It helps me align my stamps, double stamp, multi color stamp, etc....
Some really great ideas... On the second card front (the criss-cross)the last colour you added (orangey/goldey/yellowey)is absolutely gorgeous, im definitely going to have a look through your supply list, I really enjoyed watching your video and I've subscribed to your channel so I will definitely be binge watching more of them... I hope you and your family are all well, Stay safe my lovelies... 💫😷🎨🖌🎨😷💫
What kind of ink do u need to use embossing powder? I am new to this craft and picked up some embossing powder at my local thrift store, but don't know how to use it,any advice?❤
Thank you for showing all that good stuff..I read most of the wonderful post's most were about the embossing powder, but I was interested in the glue you used and the "red case" for holding the card while adding the words. Where are they for sale...
The red thing I think you are talking about is called the MISTI. And the glue I use is Bearly Art Glue. You can find it by going here: ldli.co/e/92lm3d
@@LaurelBeard I am a new subscriber! Where did you get the tool you used to squish on your MISTI? I need a tool like that rather than a Chuckie. Thanks so much very glad I found your channel!
LOVE Using colored Embossing powder! I have Embossing powder by Stampendous. Some are fine others are more chunky and give more texture to the project. I originally bought it to do flowers in different colors, but have run into a few that just didn't produce the effect I was hoping for. I need to practice more as I'm new to card making but I'm not afraid to try anything! When you stamp on embossed paper what is the best Ink to use so it doesn't smudge? Stazon? I'll be watching your other videos! Thanks for getting Me motivated to try this technique again. I love what you did with the top of the bottles! Great idea! I love doing emboss resist too,and the effects I can get from that. Thanks Lauren!
I do because I don't work super duper fast. If you sprinkle on embossing powder right after your heat set and its still hot (meaning dump that powder the second you turn off your heat gun) the new embossing powder will stick to it.
I would add some kind of anti static powder like baby flour, corn startch.... Just to keep the embossing powder from sticking to areas you don't want it.......
I think it would likely burn, but what if you sprinkle it on there and just let it dry naturally. You won't get the shiny look, but it still might be a cool one!
I can never get embossing right! It always ends up burned and flat or grainy with no melting at all. Have tried at all distances, heat settings and different times but nothing works. Any advice?
Tip: because we go through alot of embossing powder...if you source THERMOGRAPHY powder, you can find clear, silver, gold, etc in quantity, and cheaper than the craft brands. It's what professional printers use to make business cards & invitations.
I'm not very bright. I went to the link you have listed for the supplies and nothing is there but a blank page from some business. Sorry, i really wanted a couple of the things i saw. An archival ink of any brand will work! I don't use Staz-on because it smells, lol.
I just subscribed!!! Newbie at embossing. What do you clean the stamps/embossing folders with?
Thanks for subbing. I clean it with regular old water! :) If any ink is hard to get off embossing folders, I'll go in with an alcohol wipe.

I had no idea embossing powder would stick right on the lid! I was going to cut our circles and do it that way. But I'll try your way!
I tried that and melted my lid. What did I do wrong?
Hi. When you re-stamp the flower stencil do you need to re wet it with the ink each time?
I do because I don't work super duper fast. If you sprinkle on embossing powder right after your heat set and its still hot (meaning dump that powder the second you turn off your heat gun) the new embossing powder will stick to it.
Laurel Beard thank you
Thank you youtube for sending me here, and seeing that water tip, COOL! Thanks :D

Perfect 👍
Right when you said, “Let’s ooh and ahh as the embossing powder melts,” my dog started to bark. I think she likes it!
hahahahahahha! That's awesome!
Will have to try some Wow!!
Hi I AM new at embossing, do i need to clean the card with a brush before adding the embossing powder and blow drying?
I would add some kind of anti static powder like baby flour, corn startch.... Just to keep the embossing powder from sticking to areas you don't want it.......
Can you sprinkle embossing powder on top of gloss gel medium and melt it, or will it "burn"?
I think it would likely burn, but what if you sprinkle it on there and just let it dry naturally. You won't get the shiny look, but it still might be a cool one!
Cool tips! Thank you 🙂
