    I believe that the "Mandatory Suicide" part at the end of the Bonnie video was written by William Afton himself.
    If you look more closely at the rest of the page before it was cut-off, you'd notice that the paper becomes more spiteful and threatening, stating that even if you do somehow manage to survive the encounter with the animatronic and managed to somehow escape the room, your life would still be in danger given as you now know as to _what_ was the cause of the rancid smell that was lingering from the withered animatronics.

    Underrated note about the radio: Spirit boxes flip through dozens of channels, gathering snippets of noise and pulling them together. Your brain fills in those gaps like an optical illusion to the ears and forms words; it's *possible* to have a short chat, but consistent answers need some improv and editing. Sean is a ghost hunter though, he *knows* this, he's done this at places around a century old. Getting three coherent responses is usually the limit of a spirit box, and he got a full convo: That's bonechilling.

    I love Paranormal Investigation purely for the concept alone. With a story about five dead children's haunting the bodies of animatronics, it would be insane not to believe that people with ghost hunting occupations would take advantage of this. It's such a realistic take on the setting that I'm surprised not a lot of fans have tackled.

    • @octopusgaming9706
      @octopusgaming9706 Год назад +45

      I also love the subtle fact that fazbear entertainment hired a ghost hunter cause they know that the robots are haunted

  • @ultmateragnarok8376
    @ultmateragnarok8376 Год назад +406

    I like the idea of Paranormal Investigation, because it's like an actual usually depicted possession. Sure, the spirits have access to and themselves are bound to their respective animatronics, but it's not that they _are_ the animatronics. They are themselves, and move these lifeless bodies around because it makes them feel like they still have one to move, even trapped within another as it is. Compared to the later FNaF games, where things get more and more robotic and it just becomes sentient robots and some guy harvesting kids in a way that the lore then explicitly states makes the possessions continuing impossible, this feels like the first possessions, when the series had a sensible and simple story that was utterly terrifying in its simplicity, and focused on the victims. Remember in FNaF 1, how the animatronics wouldn't all just be openly hostile - some would keep to themselves, like Foxy hiding behind his curtains for most of the night or Freddy patiently waiting on stage, and the others would wander aimlessly? Remember how in FNaF 1 there were various happenings, such as the circus track playing throughout the pizzeria or the sudden hallucinations, which simply happened as though the spirits were either passively or intentionally causing them without needing to use the animatronics? That sort of stuff was a major part of the atmosphere, and that's why the series has steadily decreased in its horror. Sure, the big robot that can't really be stopped by mechanical failures (tasing logically just makes the servos and motors freak out and fight whatever the spirits are doing to them, rather than directly stopping said spirits) and could tear you in half is scary, but it's the fact that you're locked in with entities who hold power over the entire area, and can _keep_ you locked in with them, but are unpredictable in what they will do and how they will go about it, that makes it scary. That's why VHS-style analogue horror has taken over so much of the FNaF scene; why FNaF Plus is so heavily hyped but Security Breach wasn't, why so many people dislike SL and FFPS for what it did to the storyline. All the games have at least some neat concepts and parts that are good, and the original games aren't perfect either - FNaF 2 is hell to play; the gameplay loop is extremely lacking - but they had a good atmosphere and a simple premise. They didn't need anything else.

      i love how u mention the hauntings extant from the animatronics from the first games, I really miss that. 😭 I really miss that sort of thing where there was more that was unexplained.
      Now, it feels *overxplained*. With this thing about the type of remnants, the "agony" energy and materials, the specific "science" and engineering behind the animatronics. That kind of ruined the horror for me. Because we use science to explain things that are specifically measurable, and observable. The purpose of science is to eliminate doubt and to foster understanding. And that's exactly what happens.
      When the hauntings are "scientific-ified" in the way that it is relegated from this previously unnatural, extraexistential, paranormal thing... to simply a phenomena that happens.
      A phenomena that is being controlled by this one evil guy who is by the way really and and malicious. Like an evil scientist murderer businessowner character.
      It feels more like a superhero story, than a paranormal horror about the ways the brutality of murder linger on after the act. About the manifestations of utmost grief, despair, rage of those who unjustly had their lives taken away from them before they had a chance to live it.
      The centering of Afton's murder story, and his murder conspiracy with vanny, the company, patient 46 etc. etc. i think also works against the horror. Afton previously was this unseen vector of unfathomable violence who we only knew murdered and stuffed the original five-ish children. Now he seems like a Frankenstein-lite Supervillain, like Team Rocket who goes "blasting off again" each time he gets caught in another fire. He's as scary as a really grumpy gramps sitting across you at the dinner table.

      @@lorenzovalencia6816 Not the game itself (although portions of it are rather lackluster, mainly the jumpscares and the threat variety, the gameplay isn't bad particularly compared to some other mainline entries in the series), but the concepts it explored. Pseudoscientific expansion and explanations on the possessions, which seek to make it all black-and-white, a documented process, and negate the things which made the earlier games so good - both the mystery, and the atmosphere, as I've stated above. It too started the real focusing of the story on the instigator, William Afton, of all this rather than the long-lasting effects of his actions at the hands of his enraged and misunderstanding victims, like the originals. The introduction of the Emily family alongside this, the retcon of the Puppet's identity for a low-effort book crossover cameo, the way it changed good characters who had been community favorites into something less such as Circus Baby or Ennard or the Puppet itself. Afton coming back in what began to be a theme; Michael retroactively making all the previous games' horrors less notable due to them being _his_ experience and not random and scared night guards; and the Afton family's story taking the central role in the story, after it all.
      That is why some hate FNaF 6, not because of it as a game but because of it as a story arc. Not perhaps the beginning of the end, but the perpetuation and onwards spurring of it.

    I just realized that the Paranormal Investigator wasn't treated with any real hostility other than Jeremy's(?) annoyance at the Spirit Box and Gabriel trying to scare him off which I think was him feeling that the man who killed them(William) was in the building and the Investigators life was in danger. This to me is a notable difference from their behavior with the guys in the other two episodes and I think that it's because the Investigator was the only one of the three not wearing a Fazbear Entertainment uniform of any kind. Don't know if that was intentional or not but it's interesting to think about nonetheless.

      I saw someone in the comments of Spectre's video note that it was ultimately the investigator telling or reminding the spirits that the Fazbear employees wear purple that led to them starting to attack any Fazbear employee they can when they get the chance, like in the first two videos, and that does make a lot of sense. Because before then there was nothing about them attacking Fazbear employees, and it was after the events of Paranormal Investigation when they started doing so.

    SPOILERS FOR THE END OF PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION
    In my opinion, what makes this video so damn good is its ending, because wow, it's really good. Another video like this would probably end with the person in question making it to the door, realizing it's locked, and then they turn around to see the animatronic going in for the killing bgoo. This video isn't interested in doing that though, it's gonna get unique with its end. Sean thinks and acts like a normal person would, thus when he reaches the door and realizes it's locked he doesn't just accept his fate, he smashes the closest window he can. This leads to the first brilliant part of the ending, Sean gets out. Most videos like this would have the door be the final destination, but this video teases the idea of freedom by having him actually make it out of the restaurant, only to have his hope and life snubbed out by the second brilliant part of this ending, the murderer. Other FNaF VHS tapes typically have the animatronics committing the murders, with this one seemingly going that direction with Freddy. The genius part however is that Freddy is chasing Sean not to kill him, but to scare him out of the restaurant away from the true threat, Afton. While Afton being the killer isn't unheard of in these VHS videos, having him appear at the end along with the various hints that he was lurking the entire time makes it stick out from the rest. I don't have the energy to write a more conclusive conclusion, so I'll just say that this video is really really good.

      I personally think gabriel only started to say "get out" the moment that william entered the building, since they would've most likely already detected william's presence if he was lurking in the building. Another thing that supports this is a rather quiet thud that can be heard at 18:10 in the PI video, which could be the main door getting closed by william, since the very next answer from gabriel is to get out.

    My personal favorite is battington, but I love them all. The only reason is because I think he does a great job redesigning the animatronics in a way that is scary yet realistic. Also the way we don’t get to see them as often, which makes it more scary. For example, humans aren’t afraid of the dark, we’re afraid of what’s in the dark,(what we can’t see) so the mind conjurs up stuff 400x worse than what it actually is, and that to me just makes it much more scary and thrilling. Also, I love how he does a mixture of stuff taken on camcorders, security cameras, etc. but spectre and squimpus mcgrimpus=👌

Poltergeist is a german term for "noisy ghost" Poltergeists are ghosts capable of manipulating objects. The door slamming shut is Poltergeist activity. The animatronics being controlled is not however, that is Posession, which is a similar, yet distinct paranormal phenomena.

    This is especially interesting to me because of the final tape and the fact that the spirit actually communicates to gabriel in the third tape. I personally always wondered what would actually happen if someone actually attempted to talk to the animatronics, to help them, to try to give them justice against afton, and it is interesting to see an interpretation of that, and how the spirit "talked" and attempted to help gabriel escape.

    If you're interested in more FNAF VHS content is of high-quality, then I suggest you check out The Fazbear Archives and Tog Animations.
    The Fazbear Archives is a small channel that is basically the FNAF version of Super Mario 64 Beta Archive. It showcases archived footage of any media that was associated with the Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria restaurant.
    Tog Animations is a different story, where rather than just being your average company tapes, this channel showcases orientation footage, animatronic walkthroughs, and when it gets to the Missing Kids Incident, it's shown through the perspective of all four children who were encountered by, and presumably killed by a man wearing a FredBear costume.
    You GOTTA check out these two channels, ESPECIALLY The Fazbear Archives, those two are really fucking good.
    Outside of those two, I'd also suggest you check out Fazbear Toddler Fun by Agentpman1, and ZeppelinAttack's latest video, which he uploaded not too long ago.
    I just wanted to bring this to your awareness, thanks for taking the time to read this.

    I'd hate to say this DMuted, as someone whom has a fear of the silence (No noise), my body will freak out the moment I loose my hearing (At some point in my life, hopefully not because it would suck.) However, any kind of noise, whether silent or noisy is what gets me. While the visuals do help make it much more scarier, I always find the sound part to be the one that spooks me the most. The visuals is only half of the nightmare, the audio for me gets me. However, if I don't consume horror or jumpscares very often, I end up spooked again compared to before. And believe me, all three of these videos have made me feel tense the entire time the video was halfway through the tape. Also, i noticed two of the earlier clips were from 1986 and one from 1985...So how in the world did a paranormal investigator do the paranormal questioning a year before the employees were working on the animatronics..There must be some date mislabeling or the camera's time and date was set wrong.
    Either way, I did see how the third video ended, and man, it did not disappoint.

    i have said this multiple times now, but a phasmophobia style fnaf game, hell even dlc for phas woudl be awesome! i love spectre and his videos made me think of this!! love his style and editing
    id love to see either aq story or a free play mode for maps for each games, 1,2,and sister location. now i know what your gonna say"but fnaf 3 would be so cool to explore" that i dont doubt but if they wanted to dive into the story a lil bit more i think it would cause issues, unless it was the last map in the game.. so maybe 1,2,sister location, 3?
    if they wanted to go story i could see it two ways either each night is a new map, combining all spirits storys quicker finishing with springtrap and the burning of the place.
    or they could have each night for example night one could be fnaf 1 and you have to get into contact with one soul like suzie, put the peices together and each night the other spirits will trust you more and are less likley to attack. say the wrong thing (yeah be a bit difficult because it would use your mic and your actual voice like in phas) say the wrong thing and they get angery with you leading up to an attack. night 2 is same fnaf map, but differnt spirit till you get to sister location where its just baby. and 3 just spring trap. id also love it if each spirit was voice acted and so were the animitronics i think that would be so cool! there would be differnt endings too, bad ending you die, another ending you survive but dont free the spirits, good ending (100% completetion) you free the sprits.
    i would pay good money for this game. i have many more ideas but im finding it hard to type them all out here (austsim/adhd moment) ill edit it if i can find good wording for them. what do you guys think, would you pay for a phasmophobia "the fazbear files" DLC? or even a full phasmophobia type fnaf game?
