Speaking of Skyward Sword mechanics influencing BotW... The whole gimmick of the Sky Keep is "a dungeon that you can freely manipulate"! I'm sure you can see where that went... Also, one little quirk-- Dreadfuse is left-handed. Scervo was right-handed.
Oh, I like the Divine Beasts way more than Sky Keep... Though Sky Keep's got the combat if that's what you're into. Which I am! But I was also really into the laid-back 'puzzles-only, free roam' approach. I guess I like both, actually.
That's fair. I think most Zelda dungeons are a good mix of both combat and puzzle sections though. And I felt like the divine beasts were kind of lacking a bit in both departments. Not to mention the same objective in all four of them. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on them, but the puzzles didn't even feel like puzzles to me. At times it felt like the shrines had both more engaging combat and more challenging puzzles. Personal opinion, of course. I feel like Sky Keep does both a bit better than the beasts do. :)
"We're done being tested, time for things to get real." And all I can think to myself is: "Sky keep is actually just a set of tests to obtain the Triforce, though..."
Pretty much the final exam, as it makes you use everything you learned through your journey, even more taking into account that every room symbolizes each area or dungeon you've been to. Get Triforce = 100% on exam .... if only it were like that in real life.
From a player stand point... yes it is, but from lore perspective I think it is logical to make the place holding the Triforce be an intricate puzzle filled with defense mechanisms to prevent anyone but the hero to get it. The Pirate Robot is programmed to protect the bridge, most of the puzzles that open the way are specially made so that the Hero is able to solve them. Even the way to get inside the Sky Keep is by using the Clawshots, which Link gets by completing one the Silent Realms and are stated to be a gift from the Goddess to the hero, so he can follow the path she set.
"DPS" *obviously* stands for "Diamond Pearl Sinnoh" and is used only to describe any and all differences it has with "Platinum Sinnoh" or the inevitable Sinnoh from potential remakes of DP! ;P
This is without a doubt my FAVORITE dungeon in any Zelda game. There are only a couple of Zelda games I haven't played (Adventure of Link, Four Swords Adventures, & Spirit Tracks), and Skyward Sword is average when it comes to Zelda games in my opinion. But this dungeon had me engaged in a way that I haven't felt since first playing Ocarina of Time! Sky Keep perfectly encapsulates what it means for a final dungeon. It has mechanics of every former dungeon, utilizes almost every weapon, and implements a mechanic that hasn't been seen before in a Zelda game! Though Skyward Sword was not perfect, they definitely nailed the ending here (it almost makes up for the Song of the Hero section.... ALMOST...)
"I'll be lazy... If I have to... twisted my arm and forced me into being lazy hitting this last switch... I'll let it slide" 20:38 -ChuggaaConroy, Skyward Sword, Episode 71. He said slide just as the prison bars SLID DOWN. ;)
in theory, it's possible to arrange the rooms to do it all in one run. from the final arrangement at 2:12, you need to put the top-center (12 o'clock) room at the right-center (3 o'clock) position, the bottom-left (7:30) room in the top-left (1:30) position, the red triforce piece in top-center (12 o'clock), the green triforce piece in top-left corner (10:30), and the purple triforce piece in the center, leaving the left-center piece in place at 9 o'clock.
And I think you should spell mate without using a lazy dumb abbreviation like your better than someone ;) also It wasn't a very good pun especially if you have to explain it is one.
"If you didn't understand it when other people obviously did" still doesn't make it a good pun, the joke doesn't work cause the games is close to being done. If it was earlier in the game maybe it would be funny but even then this game is just a long game that's all, its not like Dokapon where it does keep going on and on. Also it a very dumb argument the whole "If you don't understand it you can't criticise it" bullcrap argument that people use . If i didn't get the pun it was probably a bad joke plain and simple. "I think that says more about you than me, m8. ;)" (what is that even supposed to mean?) there you go using that dumb abbreviation again, also it says more about me than you when copy my ;) with an argument that is so vague that it has nothing to do with anything i said and counters nothing.
The ending really brings me back to the old Chuggaa days, back when his LPs were more casual, and not so professional. In a way, I kinda wish his videos were still more lighthearted, without everything so meticulously planned out. You put a lot of time and thought into your videos, Chuggaa, but just know we all love you for being you.
When you think about just where the Sky Keep is even located, it really shouldn't exist in the spot it's in i mean look at the way the Island with the Goddess Statue is designed, it isn't very tall of a Island, and considering how tall the Sky Keep is outside of the dungeon, It doesn't look like it should be able to fit in there, especially considering the Goddess Statue being there. But most Dungeon exteriors never make sense in Zelda games when compared to the interior layouts in my opinion. 21:38 It's interesting too because the Master Sword and Hylian Shield use the same models of the Skyward Sword versions in Breath of the Wild minus a few differences, the Hylian Shield having scratches, for example. (It's odd though, since the BOTW Hylian Shield can break unlike the one in Skyward Sword and yet they both use the same model)
LBF197 [Damnit, Nebby!] The Hylian Shield is a magical object in SS, where in every other game it's just a good shield. Remember: you can buy those shields in most games. It could be that in later games, the True Hylian Shield transformed over time, losing the crest on front and becoming the Mirror Shield, another unbreakable magic shield.
That could be true considering the fact that the Hylian Shield in A Link Between Worlds deflects magic attacks, something the Mirror Shield could do in Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker(debatable), but ABLW happens after OoT, in which the Hylian Shield is just your plain old shield. in ABLW it isn't your plain old shield considering that again it deflects magic attacks And it doesn't really make sense though that the shield can be dropped when hit by an electric attack in BOTW, considering that in other games, like OoT, getting hit by an electric attack didn't do that. overall the way the shield works in BOTW compared to other games makes no sense.
@@LBF197 it's lost it's magic over time, kinda like how the sword was able to rust and chip. Though to be fair, Link was fighting more mechanical enemies than magical ones, even if they were controlled with Malice
I love the Sky Keep. It's my favourite dungeon in this entire game, and probably the entire series! The rooms are varied and you can go through different routes with each playthrough! Also dat ending. It's an interesting way to sync game audio and commentary, haha!
Braedon Kulick he owes us an hour one at LEAST. Do you KNOW how many times he's just randomly skipped an episode, you have to follow him on twitter or whatever, and the episodes are often max 24-28min so.... 😡
It's an amazing concept. However - it means the temeple is ANNOYING. Chugga count Link Deaths/Fails : 34 (26th because the eldin silent realm run was horrible) Bad Puns: 56 (10 title puns) Pots/Barrels Smashed: 252 SQUAD OF RELEVANCE WHERE U AT
I've wondered if their was a solution to the room sliding puzzle and let all the rooms connect beside revolving all the rooms around from multiple spots
I genuinely really like this dungeon. Being able to control the dungeon itself was a really brilliant concept, and yet another clever game mechanic that originated form Skyward Sword that Breath of the Wild capitalized on.
I will say that while I personally hated playing through Skyward Sword myself, most likely from all the tips and tricks I didn't know, watching this does make me remember what I did not like. However, I can at least appreciate what it tried to do. Most people say that Zelda doesn't have enough innovation in it anymore, not since Ocarina and Wind Waker, with the games seeming mostly similar to each other with the same sort of controls, going to similar places with the same items. This at least tried to pump some new blood into the game, with items like the Beetle, the Whip, the idea of Gratitude Crystals and materials, upgrading potions and bettering yourself as a Hero, instead of just being handed out everything for you. It had the dowsing and the new shields, along with item storage and medals. It's not my personal slice of cake, but I do love what it tried to do for the series, and I do love that some of this stuff is returning for Breath of the Wild, and hopefully future Zelda's as well, if there are any more. This is not a masterpiece. At all. But I appreciate how it went through changing up the formula. So thank you for showing me that this series did not change for the worst.
26:00 Dreadfuse: Augh! So, you are quite skilled despite your meek appearance. But that doesn't mean I'll let you through that easily! If you desire the Triforce, you'll have to earn it!
The Raspberry Raccoon Dude, same here. Everything after the sneak mission at Eldin volcano is a mystery to me. And I've played the game multiple times.
I beat this game and for some reason I don't remember this or the last silent realm for some reason. Also I think the most important thing this game did for breath of the wild was teaching them how NOT to structure a zelda game.
Actually skyward Sword was My first lets play I’ve watched. This is like My 5-6 Time Watching this particular let’s play. I actually like skyward Sword. Not a perfect game just like a lot of games but I like it a lot.
It's actually making me really sad that this lets play is almost coming to a close. But it's reminded me how much I love skyward sword and chuggaa, and I'm happy I started watching him again.
Bruddahs and sisters it is once again time to pray in thanks for the wonderful bounty of entertainment our pun lord and savior chuggaconroy has provided for us today
Yet another interesting dungeon. It even manages to make a sliding block puzzle, the kind of thing even Papyrus wouldn't touch, into an interesting navigational mechanic.
25:13 Dreadfuse: Hmph! So you're the Goddess's chosen champion? Not much to look at... But if you made it this far, you must have some skills. Very well! I accept your challenge! En garde!
Wasn't trying to be early, nor did I know I was until I noticed that it wasn't in HD, I don't understand why people try so desperately to be early, I don't find the reduced video quality to be too high of a price for the reward, if there is a reward.
I wish more of the Sky Keep looked like the entrance room. The white and gold with hints of blue is so pretty to look at. Reminds me a lot of The Tower of the Gods, my favourite looking dungeon from Wind Waker.
Every time I hear him say the word "switch," I want to snap my fingers. And I was definitely not expecting that Total Eclipse of the Heart reference. O.o
This is probably the best final dungeon (even though it's not considered a dungeon) in any Zelda game, except maybe Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild. Hyrule Castle was amazing for a different reason. I loved going through Sky Keep. It's a unique concept and tested everything you learned up to this point.
Oh yeah! I LOVE SKY KEEP! The idea of creating your own route is cool and it has many uses for all your items. I remember my first time I took a certain route in such a way I skipped a full room! I think the path I enjoy taking the most is one that requirea you going through all rooms, though I don't remember the path anymore haha
27:26 speaking of which, how do they handle it when you get electrified while holding the mastersword in botw? other weapons get flung away from you, but from what I've seen they don't allow you to ever let it go so what happens?
21:30-22:02 I'm honestly the reverse on that. I like Skyward Sword and while I haven't played Breath of the Wild, it really doesn't seem like I would like it, given the things I've seen and/or heard about it (the stamina meter returning, the crafting system, expanding on item durability, etc.)
This in my eyes could have been what the breath of the wild dungeons were. Free roaming making your own paths and while the breath of the wild dungeon mechanics are fun , this would have worked just as well if not better

The reason you can't cut that rope is because it isn't actually a rope. It's a metal chain.
Shattercoin that, and because cutting the rope could render the game unwinnable.
That, and because rope is thicker than water.

You should try out the Analysis option when calling Fi in a dungeon. Just to get some sass or be impressed at our current condition.

30 MINUTES?! Thank you Chuggaa! This has filled the Skyward Sword shaped hole in my heart!

I dont think he owes us anything considering how we get this content for free. Plus its kind of hard to work around weather issues :/
There is a route through sky keep that skips an entire room, and it's one of the tougher ones!
Specifically the earth temple room.
This was uploaded on my birthday! Thanks Emile for all the greats videos you have done!

And at the same time, you hope that you hear it again so that series doesn't end.

OH MY GOD I JUST REALISED
Farore = Faron
Din = Eldin
Nayru = Lanayru
I think that that has been around since ocarina of time. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Twilight Princess introduced the Faron, Eldin and Lanayru regions.
There is also ordana which is really hoped would return in breath of the wild, but alas.
How have you only just now realized this? Chugga himself pointed it out in an episode.
Clearly missed it. I'm not that observant when it cones to names.
Chugga, thank you for inspiring me to beat this game for the first time, I really enjoyed the experience and it's all thanks to you.

Blue_Boo Well they've done this in Zelda final dungeons a few times. Ocarina, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask

This is one of the most unique Zelda dungeons ever created. It's one of the few that genuinely got me stuck.

Why don't I remember this part of the game?
The Raspberry Raccoon Dude, same here. Everything after the sneak mission at Eldin volcano is a mystery to me. And I've played the game multiple times.
Sir Cumference I've just like forgotten the whole second half of the game like what the hell happened in my brain noodle?!
The Raspberry Raccoon "I have no memory of this place..." -Gandalf the Grey
The Raspberry Raccoon for me I couldn't remember anything past the fire sanctuary, it's weird...
how could you forget the best dungeon ever?

With such a cool mechanic, this dungeon will be one that Chugga will KEEP in his heart.

resty burar because skyward sword isnt very detailed so there would be no point increasing the rez
It's because the higher resolution versions haven't been processed yet I believe, usually you just wait ten minutes or so and it'll work as usual.
"Turn around, every now and then"
GOSH DARNIT CHUGGA WHY IS IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO HATE YOU!!!!
well the sky keep *Kept* me *Puzzled*
Great episode as usual Chugga. Man, these LP's grow up so fast
Wasn't trying to be early, nor did I know I was until I noticed that it wasn't in HD, I don't understand why people try so desperately to be early, I don't find the reduced video quality to be too high of a price for the reward, if there is a reward.
You certainly have an interesting way of 'preparing' for these videos. "You gotta stay upbeat, upbeat, upbeat!~"
Best Final Dungeon imo
I wish more of the Sky Keep looked like the entrance room. The white and gold with hints of blue is so pretty to look at. Reminds me a lot of The Tower of the Gods, my favourite looking dungeon from Wind Waker.
360p Squad?
H3çTΩR yoooo
H3çTΩR As always ;)
720p60 masterrace
H3çTΩR Sorry but Im one step ahead of you. 480 is what I use. But I have had to use 360 before and you do get use to it.
720p60 on the s7
15:10 BRB getting a Timeshift Orb and putting it somewhere it's not supposed to be.
Also, that ending is amazing.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I hate this dungeon
Do you hate it too?
Galen Dyck if you know how the dungeon works it can actually be fun
No. In fact, this was the only dungeon in the whole game I liked :/
Ghabulous Ghoti Lol its the only one I didn't like, and one of the very few parts of the game I didn't like
those2vgplayers It's hard to enjoy no matter how much I know it for me.
Galen Dyck I guess. but I find it very creative
Every time I hear him say the word "switch," I want to snap my fingers.
And I was definitely not expecting that Total Eclipse of the Heart reference. O.o
The ability to make puns is a factor in determining your level of humanity? That's new. I guess Chugga must be the humanest human than ever humaned.
I don't really comment that often, but I have to say that Dance of the Vampires reference made me very happy since I love that song
I guess chugga is really HOOKED into that battle!
-Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how tough are ya?
-I found the Sky Keep.
-Yeah, so?
-Without any guides.
-R-right this way, sir...
I made the "under our nose" joke yesterday no one cared but when Chugga does it its actually funny...
23:30 I don’t know why, but I never would’ve expected a Bright Eyes reference (despite being younger than him and still getting it)
at 18:30 i think there was a MARIO SUNSHINE REFERENCE "Tilt, Slam, Bam!!"
That ending, though. Easily a 10/10, especially because of that beautiful singing voice.
LOL That prep scene at the end had me ROLLING!!
29:12 🎶 I NEED MY CLAWSHOTS, THAT'S THE WHIP 🎶
There we go.
Omg that ending hahaha! Brilliant.
I remember thinking this area was interesting I like the fact that it remixed previous areas from the game.
6:25 Chugga, you could've used that goddess wall to refill you large quiver because that wasn't full. You only had 10 arrows at that point
This is my favorite last dungeon in the franchise! Not necessarily my favorite dungeon, but definitely my favorite of the final ones.
15:30 that story was from the book, "sound of thunder"
If you watch the end bit and then immediately skip back to the beginning, it makes that moment even more hilarious.
“I don’t like your face, that is why I blew it up”
“Not this bad guy, THAT bad guy!”
My favourite Chuggaconroy quotes, now reunited again in 2020
