- I have been using the Galaxy Fold 5 nonstop for 9 months, every single day long term because not only is a great, flexible mini tablet in a phone, but because it genuinely accentuates my lifestyle in a number of different ways. I don't have a particular team, I just go with what works for me at the moment. At the end of the day, they are just material possessions. It's not that serious because nothing is coming with you when you pass away. Yes, it is that simple ladies and gentlemen.

I’ve been using iPhones since the iPhone 4 and over the last year I’ve really been wanting to finally switch to android that has legitimate innovation because I’ve become so bored with Apple lol. And once I came across the folds I feel like the fold would be the best option to switch from Apple because not only would I finally be on android, but I would also finally have a new experience with how I use my phone. But since the fold 6 is around the corner I’m hoping they’ll be slightly widening the cover display, having even better durability, better cameras and even a better battery. Then I’ll definitely be able to finally make the switch 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was an all-time iPhone user and swapped at release to the ZFold5 - I love it. Best phone I've ever had.
Battery life could be better when using the main display at max brightness while streaming video and using BT audio.
On an average day, my battery lasts from 6:30 AM to 8-9 PM.
My z fold 5 is a year old and it looks as good as day one. And I use it outside fishing in pouring rain, off roading on dusty trails. It's the best phone ever. Breaking screens might have been a thing on previous versions. But it never happens on the 5.

6 month in on my first ever fold 5, Loveing it. Risked it bought used much cheaper price. But i can't see myself going back to normal phone.

I originally had the fold 4 and loved it. Didn't feel upgrading to the 5 was necessary enough for me but then I started having the known hinge issue and couldn't open it fully. Did a warranty exchange and they sent me a fold 5. I actually love it more. Still not a drastic upgrade but I noticed the upgrade, if you know what I mean lol. Battery life is much better. it's just a little bit smoother on how it handles things. I've been very happy with it. A lot of what you said I agree with. Especially the part where foldables ruined slabs for you 😂 so true for me. Anyways great video! 😍 💜

I love my fold 5. I had the fold 4 but traded it in for the fold 5 as i liked the fact it was completely flat when closed. I will never go back to a candy bar phone. The amount of comments i get about the fold 5 is crazy, a lot of people havent seen a phone like it before. I cant wait to see what the fold 6 brings and if its not a myth the fold 6 ultra.

Great review! I agree with you - it's ruined slabs for me as well. At first and based on a lot of tech heads on YT, I was afraid the cameras and lack of zoom would be an issue. Everyone talks about that. Honestly, it's never been a problem. Yes, there have been maybe a handful of times when I wished I had better zoom capabilities but that was never a deal breaker. Let's be honest - most of us take pics to remember times/places and most end up on social media. For day to day operations, the cameras are just right. I thought I'd miss not have an integrated S Pen but honestly I've used it very little, if any (personally). I used to hope for a Fold device that would silo it, but now I'd take a larger battery instead. Great video, great points, great device! I look forward to the Fold 6.

Watching on my Galaxy Fold 4 512gb and agree with using it ruined slab phones and definitely can't wait till Fold 6 comes out . From 4 to 5 isn't really with it when you buy phones outright . Being a light to medium user I always get a full day battery being left 30 to 40 % left at end of day .
Still rocking my fold 4. I don't plan on upgrading until samsung gives us an internal s-pen. I swap back and forth every now and then between my note 20u as a daily driver on travel days or beach days. Congrats on the engagement!

If you don't care about the cameras not having amazing zoom and like the front display, there's an argument for pulling the trigger on the Fold 5 now!

So I was thinking, instead of shelling out massive amounts of cash for another iPhone, which let's be real, hasn't changed much (yes it got faster but what's the point if you can't multitask and utilize the process)
So if I'm going to end up spending this much money, I might as well get a good & new experience. Hence the Z FOLD 5 😍

It is indeed a remarkable investment. Since acquiring it four months ago, I have experienced immense satisfaction and enjoyment. The Fold series has set a new standard for me, and I am unlikely to consider any other phone in the future.

great review, I too am sort of ruined on slab phones after having a fold 5. it just does more in so many ways. but I do miss that zoom. i used it to ID birds in our backyard, I miss that feature. hopefully the zoom 6 ultra, if it is real, will have that.

Have you had the recent Google messages issue with your Fold 5? When I use my phone to text in landscape mode with the message list on the left and the actual messages on the right....the text jumps up and down when writing a message more than one line 😢. It's become so frustrating I've been using my S24+ more and more.
Any fold owners using the fold as an e-reader? Hows the experience compared to a typical ereader and if using grayscale settings to match the black & white experience?

😭I'm in the same boat. I have about 5 days in my return window for the Fold 5. I recently took my Fold 5 on vacation with me instead of my S24U. There were times I wished I had the zoom capabilities of the S24U. If the Fold series ever get an upgraded camera I think it would be an even bigger hit than the Ultra series

Hi there! So I can actually say that I have been using my F5 without a case for 80% of the time I have owned it! I have dropped it more times than I would like to admit 😭 But it's still working just as well as when I first got it!

I have big hands and it's not exactly "comfortable". Don't worry about the size I'd say. It's a mini tablet... how would you say that would feel for you? The size I have heard is changing. But it won't be significant for YOU at all. Probably not even visual. The question I'd be asking is do you want the best one out or save yourself quite a bit on money and buy the 5? I'd just buy the 5 since in my opinion it's their first "perfect" folding phone. The 6 will just further enhance the design. It will have 4 sharp corners instead of 2 smooth 2 sharp as the 5 does. But that's just making the phone more basic looking so I don't care for it
The fold with a stylus is cool. It’s a tablet jr. I prefer iPhone tho, bc it’s not full of gimmicks that I’ll only use to show off, also if I need to do anything major that’s what laptops are for
The best thing of the fold five is the forms factor
I have been experiencing severe battery drain after updating my Z Fold 5 to the One UI 6.1. Pre-update, the phone used to last me 1 1/2 days on full charge (Max Battery Protection On), but post-update, it barely lasts me a day. I dont know what to do, any feedback will help. Cheers
I personally don't have a fold phone. But according to the situation of my s22 ultra, the battery drains quicker right after updates. It should get better after some time tho! 🤞

I'm all-in on Apple, but I do think Samsung makes some really great products. I did love my Note8 and I might return to Samsung or maybe Google Pixel.
I just can't get over the crease. The cameras are fine. The no S Pen is a bummer but I can't do that crease and yes I've used one.
If they'd do a trade in if I got the fold 5 now for the fold 6 when it comes out I'd do it. Really want the fold but for now I'll keep my note 10 and see what the fold 6 has in store

Samsung Knight here..(but I also have an older iPhone😀)....I think that Samsung is more advanced that the iPhone....but user experience depends on how tech-savy you are, and what you want your phone FOR. Most people in the USA don't care about userability, and thats why 56% of the population uses iPhones.

I think fold 5 and S24U are neck and neck, depends what you need it for, the S24U better cameras and Spen, battery life. The fold 5 tho, that big screen, fingerprint scanner and multitasking...wow! If they were the same price I'd take the fold 5 but the S24U is like £18 month cheaper and luv taking pics of my kids so its a no brainer.

Personally, I like the freedom and features of Android, and I prefer Samsung over other Android brands for its software and S-pen. If you wanna get into Android, I would recommend getting a Samsung. But if you are comfortable with iPhone, there's no reason to switch unless there's a specific feature you want in other phones. I'm looking into buying the Z Fold 5 😂😂😂

I have the fold 5 and the oneplus open. I cant decide honestly which is better for me. Fold 5 is king in the software department. Cameras in my opinion the open is better as well as battery. Wish fold 5 had super fast charging. I think fold 5 is more compact phone and sleeker. I keep switching back and forth with both phones
I briefly had the Fold 5, and charging for me had been fast.
If they could fix the front display I would swing for it and the awkward middle screen size. To large black bezels when watching videos. Would try the open, but don’t trust oneplus completely.
Those are definitely reasonable reservations! Hopefully the Fold 6 will address those things!
The OP Open was awesome, honestly. They handled my return well when I had a faulty unit. But I 100% understand the concern!
Great video again. Love your feedback. I had the zfold4 traded it in for oneplus open and then sold it. Now I am using the s24u and iphone 15pm. Waiting to see what comes up with the z fold 6. I am in the middle between a fold and regular phone. Sometimes it just gets annoying opening up the fold everytime (more on the zfold4) and getting the big screen of s24u immediately.
I noticed my Fold 5 gets warmer the my Fold 4..and some apps will be glitchy on my Fold 5 when using 3 apps at once but is fine on my Fold 4 and I believe UI 6 is the issue with that because my Fold 4 is still on UI 5.1.1..
I noticed mine runs warm aswell. Mostly on hot day. But it gets to the point you notice the heat in your pocket after use quicker than you'd think. Doesn't overheat at all while charging. I feel like a lot of phones run how nowadays. Never was comfortable with a warm phone, but I don't consider the heat of the fold 5 to be bad in comparison to other phones. But I can completely understand how your older fold may run cooler. Perhaps it's just not working as hard?
You should try a Samsung with exynos and give your opinion about it
Everyone I have talked to that has compared said the Exynos does throttle worse than Snapdragon unfortunately :(,

Yes, it is worth it. I actually got my Fold 3 shortly before the Fold 4 came out as it was on sale.

I have just discovered your channel. You said something in this review that makes me want to ask you about a different topic.
You said Samsung is consumer friendly. Everybody is reviewing the fold 6, and are really excited about it. All of the competition have managed to update and improve their hardware in the fold game in two or three years, where Samsung have only managed to refine its fold and try to sell us a minimal effort phone with admittedly great software but dull hardware. That is not consumer friendly?
The hardware features that we want, wider screen, light, bright, thin,spen support on the front screen, better cameras and fast charging, are all out there. Samsung could have offered us that , but the keep trying to convince us that the small iterations are ground breaking improvements
The spen used to be a unique feature, but now everyone is offering stylus support. Samsung has to integrate the spen to stay unique.
But in my opinion they are just trying to catch up instead of leading the pack . Such a shame.

I had the Fold4 and was very disappointed with one thing and it was a deal breaker, that was the outside display; it was a poor design and I hated it. I did trade mine in for a Pixel Fold as the Fold4 was making noises when I opened it after a few months (fixed in Fold5 I believe). The Pixel Fold is a much better experience as I do not have a workflow that needs me opening up the fold every time I use it. In fact, 60% of the time I use the front display and Google didnt force me to open. If I pay £1800 I do not want people telling me the front screen is not for use, you should open it up! Maybe the Fold6 will rectify this, but knowing Samsung, who hate admitting they are wrong (took them four years to dump their initial hinge design), it will probably be a few mm wider.
Anyway nearly 9 months with the Pixel Fold and it has no creaks, no issues, dropped a few times and as good as new, with a fantastic usable front display. It is as fast as most phones doing day to day stuff and along with other Chinese folds are ahead of the Galaxy Fold IMHO. The fall in market share of the Galaxy Fold is steep and I can see why they are now going to have an FE version to boost flagging sales.

that is why mostly people are not willing to splash a hefty amount for fold phones. the screen on folding mobiles is still not so good, kids even mature people accidentally damage the screen by touching the nails on the inner screen.
Team Galaxy but also just Team android. Because I love Samsung but Chinese brands are leaving Samsung behind hardware wise. Which is why I now have an imported OPPO Find X7 Ultra as well as my S24U and Zfold 5

@@David.AVelez no they don't have the Play store but that's not hard to install and they have the same frame work to support Google services as any other Android device. The only problem with my X7 Ultra is that because it's not a global release it's running China exclusive software. And that means I have UI elements in Chinese that I can't change even though most things are in English. It also means things like Android Auto don't work, which isn't a problem for me because my car is dumb 😅
So all in all I don't regret getting it, the hardware is on another level, but there are compromises that would make me hesitant to recommend.
But my understanding is that the next Xiaomi mix fold will be getting a global release. And it's possible that the Vivo x fold 3 will also be getting a global release, and from everything I've seen that's a pretty impressive device.
I finally got a fold 5 with $1000 off on my phone plan
for me not having s series ultra cameras on 1800 euros pho is a deal breaker. so won't spend any money on foldable if relevant camera won't be added. And no, this would't increase price by much, ( using same sensors as s ultra series would cost the same, or even less because of economy of scale).Samsung just expect to fool everyone here

Never loved a phone so much... but iv never recommended anyone buy one without some sort of sale. I got mine on sale aswell. $1000 less
Apple needs to start to adapt and offer some fold or flip phones because iPhones are amazing phones but they are becoming dull.
I was always an android guy, then in 2020 I moved over to IOS and have now had 3 iPhones, 12pm, 14p and now 15pm. They are fast, consistent, powerful etc etc but they are the SAME. There isn’t any innovation really… yes they brought out MagSafe which was a nice move, and the Dynamic Island, but they are very samey devices..
Yes, exactly! They're great phone overall, but man are they stale and don't offer anything substantially different over previous year devices which is a shame for th price you pay for them!

1 1/2 years after purchasing the inner screen dies, WORST phone Samsung ever made. Don't buy it folks, I was warned and I should have listened. Always owned Samsung phones, this is the worst and only one to break for me. No more folds for me EVER!
