Some questions: 1. If your player is down and gets hit again by a fireball before your next turn, do you have to give additional treasure to whomever fireballs you? Or, do you stand your player back up after you've been fireballed and before the next player's turn? 2. If you skip over another player occupying a multi-treasure space (two or three treasures available on one treasure space) and there is still treasure available, can you collect treasure as you skip over the other player? 3. Stealing treasure: to confirm, the only ways to steal treasure from another player are to i) hit them with an ember fireball, ii) hit them with cataclysm fireball, iii) or specifically to steal the heart of Vulkar when passing over another player who holds it. Correct?
1) You only stand up at the start of your turn, however, if you are already knocked down, and get hit again, you don't lose anymore treasure. You only lose treasure when you are knocked down, not when you are hit. Make sense? 2) Nope, any spaces you skip over (because another player is already there), are ignored. 3) You got it.
I was about to do the same, until I saw that the marbles seem to go everywhere. In the original I enjoyed being able to follow the marbles and there was a bit of strategy as to where you placed your token, certain areas you could place it to where it would be tough to knock over. This just seems impossible to follow everything. I like the chain reaction possibility from the original.
We love the game! Thank you! Just a suggestion- there are so many rules in this video that are not included on the rule sheet that comes with the game. Perhaps you could either include the link to the video on the box, or make a more thorough explanation on the rule sheet. Thank you!
Hey Nica, so glad you're enjoying the game - unfortunately I don't have a direct connection to the company who publishers the game, but I do think that's a fine suggestion - perhaps if you reached out to them, they would consider it!
1. If you have the heart of Vulkar and you are on an unstable space (bridge/ladder) and someone jumps over you - do you lose the heart of Vulkar to that player? 2. When someone is taking a treasure from you, do you give them any treasure you want, or do you keep them face down and the taker randomly chooses one face down treasure from you?
Jason Bierz it’s disliked because they had the opportunity to reprint an incredible kids game and instead made a big busy mess of a game with low production value.
Hey Rodney! Thanks for the video! We had a question about the caves - when you need to get to a cave closest to you but someone is on that cave entry space - can you still use the cave? Or are you forced to abandon using the cave at all during the turn until the other person moves?
@@WatchItPlayed We have the Spider Springs expansion and have a few questions regarding the spiders’ position after using an Arachnoclysm. Once the four spiders are dropped into Vul-Kar, followed by the four fireballs. As we know the spiders stay where they lay on the island. Due to the pooling effect of the spiders at each end of the main island (thanks to either the fireballs/bee swarm pushing them either to the beach or the scar ends). Does the player distribute the spiders on separate space slabs at the respected ends or can multiple spiders occupy a single space which requires the player to pick them all up when passing through?
@@Supernivek80 Sorry, I'm not able to help with questions related to games I haven't sot videos for. I'd suggest checking the rules forum for the game on BoardGameGeek or the publishers website. I hope you can find your answer there - have fun playing!
If you let go of your person when moving them and they fall over do you have to stop moving and put a treasure in the maw? Or is that only when a ball knocks you down?
Hey Tony, I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I feature, but I tend to avoid getting into individual card effects, as that's a level of detail it would be hard for me to get into across all the games I've featured. I'd recommend checking the BoardGameGeek forums for the game. Hope that helps!
So I have a question. On the dice do all sides have a number? So 2:12:2 and 2:3? On the dice I received with my game I have one number missing. So 1:12:2 and 2:3. Is one side supposed to be blank or is it supposed to be 1?
so you start with one fireball in the scar. so when you pull a cataclysm card do you roll just one fireball down the idol or 3? when do you add another fireball to the scar? after each catacylsm card is used?
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
I'm wondering, would the different miniatures have different resistances to getting knocked over? Looks like if a marble is coming your way, there's no salvation though :)
The card that says “run!” It says you can not pick up treasures, but can still steal treasure. Does that mean you steal any treasure? Or just the red gem? I didn’t think you could steal treasure from another player while passing? So confused thanks Rodney
This wording is a little more confusing, unfortunately. It's referring to the Heart of Vul-Kar and other treasures (that are found in expansions). You are right, you cannot "steal" treasure tokens by passing over them.
So if my action card is a move 12, I know I have to move the entire 12 in one direction. But on my next action card can I turn around and go back the way I came?
If an extra marble is dislodged, the damage from both marbles is considered valid. You would steal treasure from a player even if they were knocked down by the extra marble. It's important to note though, that a player hit by both marbles wouldn't lose two treasures, just the one from being knocked over.
What do you do if the Marble doesn't make it to the bottom? Gets stuck on a root or the crevice in the board game? Does the turn end or do you flick with your finger??
Hi, thank you for the video. I still don't understand what defines round one and round two. Isn't the end of the game when one triggers the helicopter?
Hey there, I'd like to help but I'm not sure what you mean by round one and round two. The game is played over a series of turns, not broken into rounds. How the game ends is explained here: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html. Do you have a specific question about that part which you're not sure about?
Hey Allen, good question. In that example, I was illustrating a few spaces of movement (showing the figuring going well past the other player) - not just one space beyond, but I can see what you mean!
I have a question regarding the end of the game section: what does it mean that all the players have had two turns? When this happens? Because when you use an action card you pick another one. Thanks!!
@@WatchItPlayed Yes could you expand on the end game further. For instance, if the 4th fireball hits the scar, but players are still out in the island, do they still get two turns to head back to the helipad? I am not real clear on that piece. Thanks for the clear video though.
@@jeffschuepfer9449 " For instance, if the 4th fireball hits the scar, but players are still out in the island, do they still get two turns to head back to the helipad?" Yep, you've got it.
Why go on the copter when you can venture around and find more treasure? What the incentive of going on the hellocoptor early after the lucky penny as been acquired?
Hey Fahad, don't forget, you can take other items than just the lucky penny - also, the island is dangerous, the longer you're there, the more chance you might get hit with a fireball and lose items. That said, you might choose to stay on it - that's a choice you'd have to make in the moment, based on the situation.
There is no incentive to get to the copter early if the penny is picked other than what was said about losing tokens if hit. However, since we only get 2 turns before the game ends after the copter arrives, we need to be relatively close to the helipad. It's strategically smart to count out the best path that picks up the most treasure tokens on the way back at that point. With the biggest moving cards, the run, is a 12 space movement, but you can't pick up anything. If you're on the other side of the island, it might be impossible to get back to the pad with the cards you have. It might be better then to grab as many tokens as possible because your snapshots are worthless if you can't make it back.
Before, you'll find that mentioned ehre: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html Just as an aside, in the description of most of our videos, you'll find an index, with clickable links if you want to quickly go to a section that you have questions about (that's actually how I'm looking up the answers to your questions :) )
@@WatchItPlayed thanks. I believe both were Kickstarter goals that funded. So may be coming someday. I didn't know if they were available at launch or not
I have a question Except for that board game where you play as the monster that smashes and destroys buildings with tiny meeple characters What other games are there that are like this one?
I think you're referring to Terror in Meeple City? That, and Flick 'em Up, are the only dexterity-"strategy" games of this type (table-top presence that draws kids in) that we have that the kids love (and can't break).
Which Witch? by Marvin Glass and Milton Bradley from the 70's which predates FBI. It drops a ball bearing Whammy ball on kid pawns in a haunted house from a central chimney. I have a video of my original game on my channel. It's been reimplemented a lot over the years including foreign language variations with different components and Ghostbusters. The large box non folding board original looks the best.

It's not unusual with plastic figures. Here's the quick fix: Boil some water, pour it into a bowl, hold the figure by the base and dunk it into the water. The figure will straighten out. If it doesn't straighten out all the way, pull it out, and use your fingers (being careful of the hot water that might still be on it), to bend it into position. Then run the model under cold water. This will harder the plastic, and you're all set!
Ok... Please someone explain to me the injury cards and when to draw them and the empty souvenir cards that are in the deck. Also when and how often do I choose souvenir cards? @@SayedYasin I can try to help with questions related to the core game (as long as they aren't related to specific card effects - I cover a lot of games, so getting into that level of detail is a bit too much for me to try to manage with all the games we've covered :) ). Thanks for subscribing!
@@WatchItPlayed thank you for your quick replies We just started playing yesterday and I'll have to review again to remember what steps were not clear and I'll get back to you on that 😊
I'm still confused about movement. After using a movement card I assume you discard it and then draw another for your next turn? I don't think that's ever clearly stated in the rules or this video I have't played yet but I gotta say the rules seem very unneccessarily complicated and not in need of a scoring system. The OG game was a simple escape game and played beautifully as is. Frankly I see us tossing most of the new rules and reverting back to the old dice roll rules for movement and minus all nearly all the special abilities.
Yes, cards you play are discarded. In the rules, you'll find a red banner heading that says "On Your Turn", and then details the 4 steps of your turn. Step 2 is: Play an action card from your hand. You must move the full amount shown. You may do its action. Step 3 is: Draw a new action card. In the video you'll find it similarly explained here: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html And here I explain discarding cards that you've used, and then drawing a new one: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html Hope that helps!
I think it’s going to depend on the temperament of the players, too. Wouldn’t an excitable kid be able to dent that board? Years ago, you might go back to ToysRUs and spend a little money to replace it, but this version?
This game's basics (rolling marbles and knocking over enemies) is quiet silly and luck based. But the other rules seem a bit too complicated for 7 year old kids. I don't understand who they made this game for 🙄...
If an ember marble or fireball touches a player BUT doesn’t knock them over, do they still lose a treasure? Also, the rule book says you can pick up multiple treasures as you go, but then there are cards that say “you can pick up all treasures as you move (instead of just one).” So can you pick up multiples or not? It seems to be contradicting.
Hey Aaron, I think you'll find your first question covered here: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html&t=717 The wording you are quoting is a little different on the card. Normally, as you pass by each slab, you can only take a single treasure from each one. With that card played, if a slab has multiple treasures, you can grab them all the treasures on that slab at once. Hope that helps!
Question about standing back up: around 13:10, both figures are half in the lava and half on a path space. Does that mean that they can choose to either stand up in the path space they are touching or can choose to slide down the lava flow to that snapshot space? Also, what if multiple figures are knocked down and are both sharing the same space? I assume one of them stands up on their turn and then leaves that space, as per normal rules, and then the second player does the same thing? Similarly, what if: During Player A's turn, he/she somehow knocks Player B down, who slides into a space where they are only touching the space occupied by Player C. It is now Player B's turn - does he/she stand up/start in Player C's space? Or does he/she get to choose an adjacent space to stand up/start in?
Hey Stephen, I do not believe you can choose to stand up in lava. You stand up in the closest "space". For the other question, you do not stand up in another players occupied space, you'd go to the nearest unoccupied space.
I don't know anything about it, but I couldn't help but show you the link I found... boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1751/jumanji Let's hope nobody gets pulled into the board in this version.
Just wanna say I watched your videos years ago when I was in middle school and they really helped me through a tough time. Thank you.

Hi Rodney! thanks for the great video! Have you checked the expansion for this game? is it good?
Hey there - I haven't tried the expansion, so I'm not sure!
Hello! Copter!
Just ordered off of amazon
Have a great time playing!
Cannot wait to get my Kickstarter. Jealous!
Damn you guys got this kickstarter already. I should have back this game instead of the cmon invader game
1. Yes. See: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html
2. You pick. See: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html
Great explanation! Do you have to hop over all the spots a knocked over figure is touching?
Yep!
If a player hops over another player do they steal one of their treasures (round ones) or does this only apply to the Heart of Vul Kar?
The only applies to the heart.
Thanks for this!
Thanks!!!!
I want to ask it too. Cause they say TREASURES not TREASURE in the move 12 action card
Who else played the og game?
I own the OG, lol
Fireball Island, Hero Quest, Screaming Eagles, Ghost Busters, and Clue: Master Detective.
@@Botanica_Gaming OMG both Fireball Island and Hero Quest were owned by my uncle. We played both together back in the early 2000's
I did and cannot believe how many people didn’t. I thought everyone played this
Who disliked this?? Must have fat thumbed it. So so excited for my copy soon! Thanks for this awesome video, I feel ready now!
Thanks for checking out the video! Glad you enjoyed it!
If you are on a cave space you can block that cave.
@@WatchItPlayed You are awesome, thank you for the reply!
That’s only if a ball knocks you down.
Thank you !!!
You're welcome Paul!
Does the Tote Bag souvenir prevent the Heart from being stolen by a player passing over?
Hey Tony, I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I feature, but I tend to avoid getting into individual card effects, as that's a level of detail it would be hard for me to get into across all the games I've featured. I'd recommend checking the BoardGameGeek forums for the game. Hope that helps!
@@WatchItPlayed Thanks. Got my answer from there. Someone from Restoration actually answered this question before.
So I have a question. On the dice do all sides have a number? So 2:1 2:2 and 2:3? On the dice I received with my game I have one number missing. So 1:1 2:2 and 2:3. Is one side supposed to be blank or is it supposed to be 1?
I wish I could help with this, but I lent my copy to a friend, so I can't check the dice for you.
Awesome game
so you start with one fireball in the scar. so when you pull a cataclysm card do you roll just one fireball down the idol or 3? when do you add another fireball to the scar? after each catacylsm card is used?
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
Could you do another video with all the expansions and their rules please :D
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: ruclips.net/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/видео.html&t=342
I'm wondering, would the different miniatures have different resistances to getting knocked over? Looks like if a marble is coming your way, there's no salvation though :)
Yeah, I don't think there's much mercy for a marble shot :)
Watch It Played gotcha, so as far as the base game only goes, only the heart of vulkar can be stolen there? I think! Thanks !
Hi is there any chance we will be able to get this in the UK?
I'm not sure - the publisher would need to answer that one.
@@WatchItPlayed ok thanks Rodney
I hope so. Also a UK gamer here. Wish I’d backed it at Kickstarter now :-(
Should be availabe at retail in the UK around December.
So if my action card is a move 12, I know I have to move the entire 12 in one direction. But on my next action card can I turn around and go back the way I came?
Correct!
To collect a snapshot, do u have to land on the space? Or can you collect it if you pass through it?
If you move through that space you can grab one as well (as long as someone isn't already on that space).
If a marble knocks another marble down do both marbles count when knocking over players and such?
If an extra marble is dislodged, the damage from both marbles is considered valid. You would steal treasure from a player even if they were knocked down by the extra marble. It's important to note though, that a player hit by both marbles wouldn't lose two treasures, just the one from being knocked over.
What do you do if the Marble doesn't make it to the bottom? Gets stuck on a root or the crevice in the board game? Does the turn end or do you flick with your finger??
The turn just ends.
@@WatchItPlayed thank you for your quick answer. We got it in the end :)
@@simonabarravecchia3295 Great to hear - have fun playing!
What's the point to repositioning tress? Can the roots actually protect your from a marble?
They can protect and also redirect falling marbles down different paths.
The move at 8:05 - shouldn't you have moved the player piece to the spot on the left, rather than the one on the right that you moved it to?
Hey Allen, good question. In that example, I was illustrating a few spaces of movement (showing the figuring going well past the other player) - not just one space beyond, but I can see what you mean!
is it me or does the heart of vul-kar look like it was from the same mold as the indulgence jems?
Same publisher, so there's a good chance that it is!
It's a generic part that you'll find in a lot of games (including Indulgence).
I have a question regarding the end of the game section: what does it mean that all the players have had two turns? When this happens? Because when you use an action card you pick another one. Thanks!!
It just means that all players get to take two more regular turns, just like they were already doing - and then the game ends.
@@WatchItPlayed Yes could you expand on the end game further. For instance, if the 4th fireball hits the scar, but players are still out in the island, do they still get two turns to head back to the helipad? I am not real clear on that piece. Thanks for the clear video though.
@@jeffschuepfer9449 " For instance, if the 4th fireball hits the scar, but players are still out in the island, do they still get two turns to head back to the helipad?" Yep, you've got it.
what happens when you have the gem, and you get hit by a fireball?
You'd give one of your treasures to the person who knocked you over. If the only treasure you have is the gem, then you'd have to give them the gem.
@@WatchItPlayed I thought if you have the gem nd get hit by a fireball, you put it back to the top again.
@@jitzmaster Nope, it works the way I described above. Have fun playing!
Can you use a souvenir card are the same turn you drew it?
As long as the timing of when to play the card is still valid, you can play it on the same turn you draw it.
You have to land on the snapshot space exactly or walk past it to take a card?
You can walk past it. As long as you start on, or enter the space during the move, you can get a snapshot.
@@WatchItPlayed ok I played the first time 2 player. where you had to land exactly and the game ran a long time
Why go on the copter when you can venture around and find more treasure?
@@Fiddlemaster56 what happens if u dont make it back, since the video failed to touch on all these points
Fahad Qureshi Yup snapshots are worth 5 points and are invalid if you don’t make it back to the copter
What's the difference between Ember and Fireball?
The Fireballs are what come out of Vulkar, the Ember are the marbles that are scattered around the island.
Do you rotate valkur before or after the cataclysm card is put into effect?
Before, you'll find that mentioned ehre: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html
Just as an aside, in the description of most of our videos, you'll find an index, with clickable links if you want to quickly go to a section that you have questions about (that's actually how I'm looking up the answers to your questions :) )
Watch It Played oh geez silly me! Thanks for the tip! 😁
Do I have to stop in a snapshot space to get it or I just need to pass the snapshot space?
You can pass through, don't need to stop.
@@WatchItPlayed thank you
The Run card gives two “rotations” can i therefore rotate vulkar twice by one increment?
Correct.
What about the coop or real time modes. Are those available?
Not that I'm aware of?
@@WatchItPlayed thanks. I believe both were Kickstarter goals that funded. So may be coming someday. I didn't know if they were available at launch or not
Cooperative mode is being playtested. Real Time "Fun Run" mode is being developed but will not be ready at the time of release.
I have a question
Except for that board game where you play as the monster that smashes and destroys buildings with tiny meeple characters
What other games are there that are like this one?
Thanks for the assist from the viewers

Nicole Rowe No worries Nicole - it happens :) Hope you have a fun time playing!
l just bought this from Target but had to return it because the character pieces were bent. Anyone have that problem?
It's not unusual with plastic figures. Here's the quick fix: Boil some water, pour it into a bowl, hold the figure by the base and dunk it into the water. The figure will straighten out. If it doesn't straighten out all the way, pull it out, and use your fingers (being careful of the hot water that might still be on it), to bend it into position. Then run the model under cold water. This will harder the plastic, and you're all set!
Thank you for explanation. If we hit by amber or fireball but doesnt knocked out what should we do ? (Obviously hit)
If you aren’t knocked over then I don’t believe anything happens. I’m traveling and not near the rules to check for you.

I'm still confused about movement. After using a movement card I assume you discard it and then draw another for your next turn? I don't think that's ever clearly stated in the rules or this video
I have't played yet but I gotta say the rules seem very unneccessarily complicated and not in need of a scoring system.
In the video you'll find it similarly explained here: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html
And here I explain discarding cards that you've used, and then drawing a new one: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html
Hope that helps!
Why would you rotate a tree?
Because the bottom of each tree has a paddle that sticks out, which could affect the direction a marble rolls.
What is the age recommendation for the game?
7+ is the official listing
The box says seven and up, but that's just a guide - it's really going to depend on the player.
I don't understand who they made this game for 🙄...
for gamers that are looking for a more chaotic game or are simply nostalgic for the original fireball island
Hey Aaron, I think you'll find your first question covered here: ruclips.net/video/XPb3gcakSE4/видео.html&t=717
The wording you are quoting is a little different on the card.
Ok thanks!
