Mick's spot on with the Gemini record. It was my car he took the record off. My white TE did 13.81@96mph back in 1995 at Eastern Creek with 176hp from its G161, and was the only run we got into the 13s, most times we got 14.0 or 14.1. We also had a second TE that was blue with a G180 running the Trimatic on a 100hp shot and got a 13.54@104mph. Added edit: If I had another opportunity to do a G161 NA without it costing me both my testicles and a kidney would be the EFI conversion and then redoing the cam/head for stupid high compression. Back in those days lead petrol was still available. 🤷

@@haltech Ohh he was referring to the drags, because they recently had a rematch in the SMP Roll Racing for the title of the quickest evo and koval still beat it by a decent amount, but then again bagdad could've had an issue that day who knows.
Ah fair enough. Yeah roll racing is another thing altogether, kudos to Koval for beating it, but like with all videos we can only put facts that are accurate at the time of shooting.

Keep in mind the Flying 500 is a rolling start race over 500 metres, uphill. Each cars gets two runs over two days which then get averaged out for the official "top speed". In that context the 255kph top speed is actually rather impressive especially given the caliber of cars that were also competing that year.
