    Part 1: • John Salley on His Mom...

    I was a huge NBA fan during the Kobe Shaq era. You know why i feel this death more than any other famous person other than Eddie? This was during one of the best peroids of my childhood growing up and also some of the worst moments where i suffered a shit load of bullying but NBA gave me happiness during that time and Kobe was at the forefront of it during that threepeat. Then over the years as i've got older Kobe was at the forefront of it all again winning championships when he was written off and his quotes and lifestyle advise and advise on how to conquer your day are all invaluable. There is a reason he died so young - just look at all his quotes, and interviews and how everybody takes note of every little word he says. He was on par with Tupac and Biggie - his words, life and memories will live for eternity.

      15.1 ppg. Russell doesn't even qualify for the conversation. You have to meet the criteria of dominance, THEN the rings come into the discussion. That's why hardly anyone mentions Russell as the GOAT. Then you have LeBron on the other end, dominance, but not enough rings.

    • @John6-40
      @John6-40 4 года назад

      @@bruceleroy4539 Except it's not "stat chasing" when the player has a fist full of rings. Harden isn't in the conversation, either...because he's not a champion. This is simple really. Stats + rings = GOAT conversation. Rings + bad stats = nope. Stats + no rings = nope. You're the one who needs to up your logic game. Who else you going to bring up? Robert Horry? 😂

    • @John6-40
      @John6-40 4 года назад

      @@bruceleroy4539 That's a lot of mental gymnastics to basically make the asinine statement that "stats are meaningless". Wilt was on some terrible Warriors teams through most of his prime. That's partly why his numbers were so ridiculous, but also partly to blame for his lack of rings.
      Bill Russell had the opposite problem. The Celtics were absolutely inundated with talent. Russell was often the 3rd or even 4th leading scorer on his own team. That's your GOAT? Laughable.
      The Celtics mostly played in an 8 team league and only needed to win 1 playoff series to make the Finals. I wonder what Shaq would've done to those 7 other midget teams while surrounded with multiple other Hall of Famers?
      Bill Russell was collecting his 22 rebounds against players like Maurice Stokes (6'7"), Bob Pettit (6'9") and Dolph Schayes (6'8"). Seriously...those were the 3 leading rebounders behind Russell in 1958. The league average height was only 6'5" back then, which was a full 2" shorter than the average height from 1981-2018.
      And since when do rebounds = GOAT? I guess Dennis Rodman was the best player on the 90's Bulls then? This is dumb. Stats matter. The GOAT should be the guy who carried his team on offense AND defense, on the way to many championships. Russell and his 15.1 ppg weren't carrying those Celtics teams offensively, and his defense benefitted due to the shorter and weaker competition of 7 teams filled with 6'7" centers.
      You don't know these things and you're questioning MY knowledge? 😂

      Every single scoring record wilt holds in the regular season, Jordan holds in the playoffs, the REAL NBA season.
      Jordan is the greatest playoff scorer BY FAR.
      Jordan had more 50 playoff games than:
      Wilt
      Kobe
      LeBron
      Harden
      Shaq
      Olajuwon
      Bird
      Malone
      Jabbar
      COMBINED.
      Jordan holds the NBA record for PPG in the regular season AND playoffs.
      Regular season:
      Jordan 30.12
      Wilt 30.08
      Wilt only averaged 22ppg in the playoffs and 18ppg in the Finals. Pathetic. That shit he was doing in the regular season didn’t work when the games actually mattered. 🙄
