I got a window sticker off Etsy that says "No Soliciting, Unless You're a Kid" and it's great! Kids collecting bottles for sports or selling treats for school still come to the door but no one else.
Easiest way to get rid of solicitors: motion-activated water sprinklers. Put a sign up and turn it on when you will be out and when you don't expect visitor or deliveries. Granted, I'm from Pennsylvania in the US, so I don't know if you will get in trouble for that in Canada so check first before you try it. ALSO: I LOVE this kitten intermission! Chittering at snow was the wholesome pick me up I needed today. Thanks, Julia! :D
Get the sign, girl! We had so many solicitors and after we put the sign up, it cut the unwanted visits by about 90%. We still get those who start off by saying they aren't selling anything...and then promptly try to sell something. But mostly, the sign works.
I will never ever open my door to anyone I'm not expecting. I watch way too much crime TV to take that risk lol. Beautiful look as always and I can't wait to try it out ❤️
Hi Julia, would love if you explored what the drugstore has to offer in terms of blush, i trust your judgement but can't always splurge as much as I'd like. Love this look btw ❤
Gorgeous! Loving the look, it’s a great day to night look. Just add a nice sparkly shadow for nighttime! Thanks for the adorable kitty intermission😍, greatly appreciated! 💕
what makes me feel safest in my home is my pup. he wouldn’t hurt a fly. but i know that if anyone was trying to get in he’d let me know immediately and burglars don’t want to deal with dogs. great deterrent. dogs are hands down the best security system.
Thank you so much for existing because thanks to you I can create some makeup for the very first time, and your explanation are so easy to recreate since I'm a beginner and your look is so wonderful, so thank you so much ❤❤ As a French person, I'm choosing you to be my favorite makeup artist k ♡♡
I have a sign by our door from when we had reactive dogs who hated the door bell. They passed away quite awhile ago now and I still keep the sign up because I don’t want people to bother me. For your makeup look, when I saw it in the last video it made me think of old timey female lead in a mystery romance novel! I am totally here for it!!!
Hey Julia, love this kind of video! Wondering what blush you would recommend for someone who is trying not to spend lots on makeup and needs something super natural. I have pale skin if that helps ☺️
You look amazing! I know that if you use a lip scrub it will help with your scaly lips and from drying out. Use a moisturizer to go with it afterwards. I hope that helps. 😊
So pretty! I can’t stand solicitors. Our neighborhood has solar guys constantly knocking on doors. One knocked on our door at almost 6 pm when we were eating dinner the other day 😅
I looooove your videos so much, they're just so calming and visually pleasing I honestly get inspired by you 🫶 I'm sitting for the last final of my bachelors in 6 days and I think I want to do this look! So, thank youuuu! Btw, I never answer my door unless is important either 😂
Honestly our ring doorbell has helped a lot with solicitors. I literally never answer and if they really won't to away I just talk to them from the doorbell so I don't have to open the door
Saaaay have you ever tried Rituel de Fille products? It’s a natural beauty line that makes really beautiful eyeshadows. I’ve never tried their skin products, but I love the shadows. I had cancer and I try to stick with “clean” makeup (I have a couple of favorites that I can’t quit and don’t wear often) after watching a horrifying documentary a while ago and am not trying to push my agenda, I’m just wondering if you have ever tried that brand (or have any recs for a talc-scared person). I feel like I’ve exhausted my Sephora options for powders/creams/etc that aren’t neutral.
Definitely get that “no solicitors” sign and embrace the Grumpy Lady Life™️ my New Year’s resolution was to embrace the vibes of the eccentric old lady who lives alone in the woods and is probably a witch like Baba Yaga and honestly it’s so much fun 😂
Love this look. Btw i have a no soliciting sign on my door and it works. A few ppl still ring the doorbell but i ignore them or tell them to please leave through my ring doorbell. Nothing wrong with that. Im not avgrumpy lady either LMAO.😂
GIRL. What do you ask for at your salon to get this color? I have been trying to get this exact color for yearss and nobody seems to understand what I'm asking for. This shade looks like something out of a Victorian romance novel. So perfect. 😭
I NEED to know how she got that hair color on you. I’m also a brunette and have been a red head for two years now and I’m not ready to let it go but I need a break. I would love to know what this hair color was. It wouldn’t be so obvious growing out it would be perfect for me.
I have a "No soliciting for anything" sign on my door & it typically works. That was rude & intrusive of that person. Wow! Love the new hair color 😍 💕 ✌🏾
Such a cute video, loved it!! 🥰 I am kind of curious why you wipe off your lip balm before putting a colored lip product on? I usually want my very dry lips to be as hydrated as possible before putting on lipstick (I also use and love the clear Naturium balm!); does wiping off the balm make the other products last longer? Just curious! ❤
Yaas! I'm loving your hair color. My hair also lasts so much longer when I use my Dyson Airstrait. Doesn't seem to get as oily. 😊 That was so rude and somewhat creepy that the door-to-door person put a sign in your yard! 😠
It’s worth mentioning given the “mood” of both Canada , as well as the U.S., that I believe it goes beyond a free advertising issue 😏!! A young , beautiful, SINGLE woman gives another individual (namely a male) ideas in their head , OR “associates” ideas to put something else in motion 🧐!! You’re an incredibly talented and intelligent woman🥰🤩, so always be on the lookout, and it’s true what’s always been highly recommended….. Go with your FIRST gut instinct, and it won’t fail you 💁♀️👍👌💪!!!
Girl, I HEAR YA with the anxiety thing. I can have somebody convicted of murder and sentenced to prison and they'll be just asking me for directions. 😂
Listen, don’t feel bad about putting a No Solicitor sign. IMO, it’s the entitled solicitors who are inherently rude when they come to your doorstep expecting an answer. I understand that people need to work, but in that line of work, you shouldn’t expect people to answer the door for unsolicited services or goods. If the solicitors don’t expect an answer, and leave quietly, that’s fine, but potentially dealing with solicitors who think are entitled to get an answer and putting a sign on your loan?! That’s crossing a line and can’t be legal. Same with marketing calls. It’s them coming to you, UNSOLICITED. You have a right to reject any unsolicited offers with a sign. That doesn’t make you grumpy, it just makes you a person that’s not interested in unsolicited offers 😉
@@JuliaAdamsMUA Glad I could provide a different perspective! And I want to tell you that your channel is my favorite ❤️ 🙌🏼 Next, for some additional thoughts, if you’re interested: I’m 44 and, as a woman, I feel like we are socially conditioned to please others, while even ignoring or going against our own well-being. As a result, actions that are merely you being assertive, are sometimes interpreted as rudeness, which is insane. I mean, some people even begrudge women for not smiling all the time, as though you weren’t allowed to have your own feelings and as if it was your responsibility to society to always look happy, lest somebody may feel uncomfortable by your own honest existence. And I personally feel like that that’s what’s behind the fear us women have of being considered “grumpy”, “angry”, “hysterical” or “crazy” (obviously any person of any gender can truly have any of these characteristics, but my point is that those labels are very often attached to women who are simply being assertive). I’m not free of that. For instance, the other day, out of the blue, a guy (member of a relative’s extended family) started to aggressively flirt with me (not physically aggressive, but verbally very direct and dominant), and I wasn’t interested at all (honestly, I felt disgusted by him). My automatic response was to smile and laugh, try to brush it off, and make jokes to deflect, instead of being as direct as he was and shut him up on the spot. Yet, my reaction was automatic, and later, I was angry at myself that I was still trying to not do anything remotely considered rude at that moment, when that guy was absolutely rude to me. And then, I realized that I shouldn’t be angry at myself, but just try to learn and stand up for myself in a more assertive way next time. When I was younger I wasn’t well prepared for that, but as I’ve gotten older, I feel a lot more confident and I try my best to be assertive, but this flirting thing caught me really off guard. Finally, geez, sorry for the rant, and I apologize deeply if I’m assuming too much, as I also acknowledge that women have diverse experiences and upbringing. When you mentioned that you didn’t want to be considered grumpy, my own experiences came to mind, and that prompted my analysis and the comment. Well, I hope that everything goes well with the “No Solicitors” sign and that your future is more peaceful, without unsolicited knocks on your door ❤️
you had every right to be weirded out by the ✨sign guy✨…it’s odd how he singled out your lawn from the rest. sorry on his behalf. i look forward to the hair tutorial with 100% excitement! 🩷🩷🩷

awe that’s sweet! kids fundraising and no one else 😌
That’s a good one! I didn’t want to exclude the kids fundraising but that solves it
This has to be one of my favorite looks of yours. It's just sooooo good, so subtle yet impacful, and the tones in the hair...ugh, so good

This the earliest I’ve ever been. Hope everyone had a great day! 🥺💕
I really like my Nest camera doorbell. You can see quite far around your house and even speak on the intercom to anyone at your door. Cute look!
Get the sign, girl! We had so many solicitors and after we put the sign up, it cut the unwanted visits by about 90%. We still get those who start off by saying they aren't selling anything...and then promptly try to sell something. But mostly, the sign works.
Concealer tournament 😭❤
OK I need that blush, and foundation, and eyeshadow stack... Also, cutest "kitten intermission" ever... Hope you and your girls had a lovely time

I'm the exact way. I really can't stand being woke up from solicitors. I'm getting a sign asap. My cats don't like them knocking as well.😊❤❤

The best is when you try to be polite and they get all pushy about whatever they're selling.. I too never answer the door anymore!

New subscriber ❤ your videos! Would you be able to share your hair color? Thank you!
Julia does the rare beauty pore defuser blur pores on the nose. and is it greasy at all? And does the charlotte tilsbury spray have alcohol in it?

Omg I need all the tips on how to stop chewing my lips 🙈
I have a small little no solicitor's sign by our entrance and BEST DESCISON EVER.
Such a cute video, loved it!! 🥰

For me lip products don't go on top of a thick layer of balm very well. Especially lip liner.
@@nicolecheyenne7937Interesting…I’ll have to try it out. Thanks!
❤❤❤
I'm a grumpy lady in that regard and I'm not ashamed at all!
Embrace your Grumpy Lady Era! You know how people have those wooden welcome signs? I got one made that says “Go Away…Go on…Git!”
Yaas! I'm loving your hair color. My hair also lasts so much longer when I use my Dyson Airstrait. Doesn't seem to get as oily.

Did you say Edmonton? I used to live there, but I moved to Europe. I didn’t know that you lived in my home city.

What powder brush did you use?
what's your natural hair pattern?
fine & thin with a mix of 2C waves and 3A curls
Do not come to my door unless I am expecting you, I will not answer
