I love Buskett at any time of the year and it is lovely to see that the authorities have realised that they are the lungs of Malta and are caring for their habitat. The trees are wonderful, the shade so quiet and welcome in the summer (but not at weekends). My two main loves, the sea and trees and this mixture of trees are superb to enjoy. A really lovely video, thank you Steve.
Hi Steve, nice movie from a beautiful area. Thanks to it, you can imagine what Malta looked like before almost all the trees were cleared for building materials for ships and houses. Take care and good luck.
Love Buskett Gardens. We having a saying when you get lost here on the island....don't worry - -you are still in Malta. LOL! Great video! My friend's Uncle works at the palace, and we were lucky enough to have a private tour (when the resident is not in Malta of course), It was fascinating! They uncovered painted over wall frescoes, and there is even a dungeon. The knights would invite their enemies for a dinner party. After desert, they ended up in the dungeon. Which is actually not underground but high up.
Bus 181 (Dingli bus), and bus 56 (Dingli bus) they only drop off to Buskett one way, the direction starting from Dingli, so getting to Buskett from most of Malta takes at least two buses, and with two buses always takes over an hour trip time, leaving Buskett by those buses is much easier, bus 56 even goes to Valletta with one bus. Bus 52 (Dingli bus) picks up from Buskett twice at 5 something in the morning, and goes to Valletta, it appears to be just a one way bus route with just two pick up times, too early for most people. I would just use the 'Journey Planner' on the 'Malta Public Transport' website for a complicated trip like going to Buskett, or walk it.
@@EnglishmaninMalta I have only seen Buskett in photos and video online. Read about it online. I have seen that bridge many times in photos. Nothing else besides that area at the gate looks familiar to me. I knew how big it was, yet I had no idea how complex the area is.
@@alanmercieca3086 Hope you enjoyed seeing it, i just scraped the surface, there are so many other trails to walk , and nearby caves, lovely walks to other villages etc
Oh I have seen the orange and lemon trees from a different part of the multi-part orchard, and I had seen the arched buttresses + the water culvert in photos and videos before
@@EnglishmaninMalta Yes I enjoyed watching it, and it's good that I have realized that it's way more complicated an area than I thought long before I left for Malta, now I am prepared, I even got mosquito repellent bracelets, no way I am going to spend all that time there with so many of them with no protection from them, I am going to spend at least 8 hours there in two days, probably more time in two days, or I may go 3 days days so each day does not have to be as long in there. Have you ever tried the 'Gaia GPS ' app? It sounds great! It has Malta maps, and trails , it has at least some of the Buskett trails in it. It does not use google maps. It uses better maps. I have downloaded the app, yet I have not actually registered or used it yet. Sounds to me like you can use it anywhere whether or not a trail is marked on it. There is a free version and a paid version. It's available for Apple and for android
Excellent video from the Englishman in Malta looks wonderful another gem to add to the collection, dont forget my request hope to see it appearing soon!!
This was a really interesting walk, Steve, the bus driver stopped at the entrance for us and told us what time to be back, for our return journey, very helpful. Lots of trails, we did actually get lost, not realising how vast the woodland is, but very enjoyable afternoon there, plenty of history. Thanks again Steve
😱🙀 So walk big place. Very long video but beautiful nature of trees. INTERESTING !!! Stories a beautiful lady fall in Love and died 💔..lol. i can not walk alone this place of your music😱👻. Thanks taking nice video xxx
@@EnglishmaninMalta It is one of those places I must get around to visiting again as I haven't been since the eighties. There are so many places that I go to, that I don't always have enough time to get everywhere. Maybe in future I will have to come over for a month to fit everything in.
Wow this place is amazing, natural beauty at its best. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing looking forward to seeing many more from you.
I didn't get to see all of this when I was there, but I'm guessing that bridge gave the Knights on horseback quick access directly into the middle of the woods.
Well Steve it looks like coming to Malta is of its a 2 week lock in without pay on my return,am off again in November I don’t mind if weather bad just love walking in Valletta and other towns such a sad time
Hi Steve, nice part of the island you really feel like being in the forest compared the built up areas of the Island. From memory don't they close the gates after a curtain time of the day ? Isn't the I'Imnarja coming soon ?
yes its The feast of St. Peter and St. Paul Buskett Garden on the eve of June 29 the day of the feast. buskett never closed was over there halloween one night dark it's so big would be hard to close
