- People often ask how fast a TVS King is and when we tell them many do not believe it. So we made a video of a TVS King speedo to prove it.
At the start we were held up by other traffic such as SUVs hogging the overtaking lane. When we did manage to get it up to speed it was only for a short time because we quickly caught up another vehicle you will notice I have to brake shortly afterwards.
Earlier in the day I did have it off the speedo and was doing about 85kph that was on a private road.

Have you calibrated the speedo via GPS? I wonder how accurate they are. Sounds like the sweet spot is just shy of 60kph which is fine for the roads there.
Checked it with GPS on my phone and also by a car following. both confirm it will do just over 80kph.
@@TukTukPH A lot more accurate than either my Old Vespa or Lambretta. Heartbreaking to discover my 126kph was actually 112 lol
@@richardscouse9840 I used to spend hours polishing the head of my lambretta to get an extra 5mph out of it.
@@TukTukPH LOL, its a funny and ironic thing that the first increase in power is the cheapest. Usually just better fuel and air flow, after that the price increase exponentially to get an every diminishing increase in Horsepower.
Thank God, the TVS is 4 stroke otherwise I would be in trouble when I buy one.
@@richardscouse9840 I am glad it is 4 stroke and FI or I would probably be reliving my scooter days to get a bit more out of it. I still look at it and think what if I changed this or did that. I am amazed the inlet where the injector is is the same size as a Dazz 110cc motorcycle. How the hell do they get so much power with a small inlet. A 30mm carb on our Lambrettas was a must-have. Also the top of the pistons on the TVS is very rough by design, where we thought to get max power it should be smooth and polished. I guess they have discovered different and better ways.
I'm thinking about buying a tvs king and make is a family car. Or shall I say Family Tuk Tuk.
Website says 63 ± 2 km/h - but its for 2023 model. Did they slow it down for newer models? What model do you have?
Officially TVS has always said about 60 to 65 kph but in real life they do between 80 to 85 kph

Sorry, it is not possible to test it as there are no Duramax in the Philippines and no sign that they will be coming here.
I have bought one of these but I have a problem at 60km speeds loudly coming out of the engine

In all the tests I did as an owner of a Bajaj and a TVS King the TVS came out top on every test. It accelerates quicker, climbs hills faster and corners better. Plus the body is much stronger.

It will cruise at 70kph no problem. Even at 85kph it is not really screaming.

@@miguelpaneda1607 No I think 90kph would be the max. I was at 85 and still had throttle left. But it struggles to increase speed when you get over 80kph.
@@TukTukPH that 80's fast enough tho... so if i travel from pangasinan to bicol with that thing, cruising on 70s, that would be relaxing for me and the engine.

That's a surprise mine won't event get pass 70kph but it's between 60 and 70kph
There are many reasons why they will not reach that speed, not broken in correctly, wrong grade of gasoline used it should be 95 octane, wrong oil used it should be SAE 20W40 4T, to much oil check it with the dipstick not by the amount when changing oil, a lot of short journeys at low speeds this cokes the engine up, tuning not correct, it has laboured in too high a gear, it has been overloaded, dirty fuel filter.

How much psi do you put in the front and rear wheels sir allan? Just wanted to know how the suspension is when running that fast
30psi in the front and 32 in the rear. Suspension is fine you hardly notice anything

Why my tvs king is 60kph maximum speed?
Could be many reasons. The main reasons for them being slow are incorrect oil only use 20W40, incorrect grade of gasoline it should be 95 octane, if you mainly do short runs at low speeds the engine could be coked up, incorrect running in, and not stunned correctly.
