    I boil the potatoes for a few minutes. Dry them. Add oil and a little bit of flour and seasoning. I either put it on parchment or more preferably nonstick cookie sheet and let them go for about 15-20 min at 450. It's a little bit faster and they have a slightly fried crispy surface

      I was just about to.ask if boiling the wedges first would decrease cook. Also would you boil the wedges or the full potatoes and then let cool before cutting in wedges?

    • @msr1116
      @msr1116 3 года назад +1

      I'd cut the potatoes into wedges as in the video, then partially cook by steaming to prevent excessive water absorption. Place them on a wire rack to cool for a bit before tossing in the oil and seasonings.

    Mate I can swear that whenever I feel depressed or I'm down I usually search RUclips for food my mother used to make. Needless to say, you always pop-up, not sure if this means anything but I honestly thank you for the time and effort you take in doing this.

    • @jessicamurray707
      @jessicamurray707 3 года назад

      i think it is easier to dice them when raw, because youll increase cook time while waiting for them to cool. might also crumble into a mash if you start cutting them while cooked.

    Put your spices in a gallon zip lock. Take your potato wedges and put them in teh bag of spices. Shake. Much neater, faster, and less to clean up after. Just throw the zip lock away.

    • @kristinacormier5185

      Or.... Maybe don't use plastic bags just because you don't want your hands to get dirty.

    • @Laurieb2851

      Kristina Cormier , Seriously? LOL! Does cooking clean affect the recipe?

    • @kristinacormier5185
      @kristinacormier5185 8 лет назад +35

      Laurieb2851 Of course not. And I get that it can be great to have less to wash afterwards. But using plastic bags is quite bad for the planet, so I personally try to avoid it as much as I can. :)

    • @mimimadeit237
      @mimimadeit237 8 лет назад +1

      kristina do you really think that dishwashers and dish soap is really that healthier for the invironment?

    • @kristinacormier5185
      @kristinacormier5185 8 лет назад +13

      That's a really interesting concern and I actually ask myself the same question quite often... I wish there would be some kind of chart to help us understand the impact of each and every action we do daily. :)
      I personally do my dishes by hand, so no dishwasher problem, and maybe with a eco-friendly soap that would be even better ? Thanks for asking though, you actually made me think twice. Of course I know that no action is perfect. But using a plastic bag every time you cook surely cannot be good for the planet.
