I boil the potatoes for a few minutes. Dry them. Add oil and a little bit of flour and seasoning. I either put it on parchment or more preferably nonstick cookie sheet and let them go for about 15-20 min at 450. It's a little bit faster and they have a slightly fried crispy surface
I was just about to.ask if boiling the wedges first would decrease cook. Also would you boil the wedges or the full potatoes and then let cool before cutting in wedges?
I'd cut the potatoes into wedges as in the video, then partially cook by steaming to prevent excessive water absorption. Place them on a wire rack to cool for a bit before tossing in the oil and seasonings.
Mate I can swear that whenever I feel depressed or I'm down I usually search RUclips for food my mother used to make. Needless to say, you always pop-up, not sure if this means anything but I honestly thank you for the time and effort you take in doing this.
i think it is easier to dice them when raw, because youll increase cook time while waiting for them to cool. might also crumble into a mash if you start cutting them while cooked.
Thank you for this important information. 😂 no but seriously I was going to follow this recipe and was just scrolling to see if anyone put the quantities etc and all I actually wanted to say is that this number is pursuing me... 😩😩😩
Awesome video mate, thank you so much. For years I've been using RUclips for cooking tutorials and they're never quite right - either they're too fast, too slow, too much unnecessary info or too little. Yours was absolutely perfect!! Felt like I was chatting with a friend. Thank you
Made these potatoes for Super Bowl 2019 and they were fabulous. I got more compliments on the potatoes than I did the barbecue ribs thank you for this video
I just got done making them and they turned out soooo good! My only problem I had was that the wedges stick pretty bad probably because of all the seasoning. But it was still so so good😋 definitely going to make again. 👍🏼
Just had some - smashing. It's great to hear someone speak with an authentic regional accent instead of the Anglo-American dialect that has been minced and overcooked.
Put your spices in a gallon zip lock. Take your potato wedges and put them in teh bag of spices. Shake. Much neater, faster, and less to clean up after. Just throw the zip lock away.
Laurieb2851 Of course not. And I get that it can be great to have less to wash afterwards. But using plastic bags is quite bad for the planet, so I personally try to avoid it as much as I can. :)
That's a really interesting concern and I actually ask myself the same question quite often... I wish there would be some kind of chart to help us understand the impact of each and every action we do daily. :) I personally do my dishes by hand, so no dishwasher problem, and maybe with a eco-friendly soap that would be even better ? Thanks for asking though, you actually made me think twice. Of course I know that no action is perfect. But using a plastic bag every time you cook surely cannot be good for the planet.
This is great, thanks. I'm going to add crushed garlic and instead of olive oil i'm going to use duck fat. Served with sour cream 😋 Cheers from Australia
Love your voice and the way you comment it most. Greetings from Beijing. Keep up the good work. My wife is not home so I can make some good roasted potato :)
Lol, well I just made the recipe today and my clearest memory from the video was the “the gentle little shake”. Mine ended up sprawled out on the kitchen floor, or about a third of them, cuz I idiotically forgot to shake them them in the oven, lol. But they are tasty indeed! Thank you Chef
Thanks for sharing your was wondering what Potato logs were so they are wedges or large steak fries? Loved your recipe and demo! Cannot wait to try to make a tray!
Thank you for sharing this recipe. It seems delicious. I’m gonna try this with your Greek style Kebabs next Sunday, but I’ll use my bbq to cook the meat.
The dude took the time to make wedges his way....from there you tweak to your taste and prep. I like some of the other suggestions like the plastic bag with the seasonings as well as the boil the potatoes and parchment paper. Thanks for the video and comments.

T Stanton Do I have to turn them? I really hope you answer..
Experiment
no if you do it the boiling method and dry them realllllly good. but i'm experimenting myself...

he said potatoes 26 times if any of you are wondering.
Rawan Rahwan ...thanks for clearing that up. I could put it on everything I own it was 1000000 times but never mind.
Thank you for this important information. 😂 no but seriously I was going to follow this recipe and was just scrolling to see if anyone put the quantities etc and all I actually wanted to say is that this number is pursuing me... 😩😩😩
Rawan Rahwan he didn’t say potato once he said potatah
to be absolute.... he said pochaicho
Now what's he making?

It's 2 at night and i have an exam tomorrow, why do i keep doing this every time..?
Lol that's something I would do
What grade did you get?
Holow Huntres i don't remember what exam it was, but i might have failed
Because you're procrastinating, which is the brain's way of gaining a tiny bit of freedom, instead of being a complete slave to teachers :)
2Am* early morning you mean
love this. The two spoon technique to flip the wedges was a lovely little wedge flipping hack. I'm stealing that
they look so good I had them at a restaurant once and I always wanted to know the recipe thank you so much!
👍🏻
I would make these myself but....... I only have one potato at the moment
Manny1669 this is the saddest comment I've heard
I know this was two years but 6 wedgies is not bad
@@abdi9308 Six wedges aren't enough to sate the stomach from its starchy cravings.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
French fries!
I've been through many potato wedges recipes on YT but yours is one of the better ones. Thanks
Made these potatoes for Super Bowl 2019 and they were fabulous. I got more compliments on the potatoes than I did the barbecue ribs thank you for this video

dude you rock thanks for showing me how to make wedges!
Just had some - smashing. It's great to hear someone speak with an authentic regional accent instead of the Anglo-American dialect that has been minced and overcooked.
You don’t have authentic regional accents where you are? That sounds a little bit of an oxymoron… but yeah I like his accent.
I just tried it since well it’s Sunday♥️🙏🏻
Just made wedges thanks for your video perfect
Fantastic! Thanks for the lovely comment!
I’m here during Covid-19 , still trying to eat delicious scrumptious homemade foods , Come thru NakedChef,, don’t hurt em on the tasty tip, new subbie

Or.... Maybe don't use plastic bags just because you don't want your hands to get dirty.
Kristina Cormier , Seriously? LOL! Does cooking clean affect the recipe?
Laurieb2851 Of course not. And I get that it can be great to have less to wash afterwards. But using plastic bags is quite bad for the planet, so I personally try to avoid it as much as I can. :)
kristina do you really think that dishwashers and dish soap is really that healthier for the invironment?
That's a really interesting concern and I actually ask myself the same question quite often... I wish there would be some kind of chart to help us understand the impact of each and every action we do daily. :)

I tried this simple little recipe and it was great. I tried it a second time and replaced the salt with garlic salt and it was even better!

Sounds like a damn good idea, my friend :)

Realy nice recipe and you explained it very well too
Organic potatoes may help. Real olive oil. Himalayan salt has 88 trace minerals. Skins on is great! Thank you for your awesome video!
I always wonder how to roast potatoes like in restaurants. Thanks for the recipe.
Its sad when you live in n Asian household. All you've got is soy sauce, fish sauce and giant bags of rice

It's easier if you put your sliced up wedges in a bag add the oil and the spices then seal it and push them around.
