Just started my second playthrough, I never did craft this satchel the first time around, due to general laziness and lack of interest. I just bought it in the epilogue. I'm going to have a go at crafting it this time around though. I'm dragging chapter two out as long as possible because I don't want to rescue Micah from jail, lol. So I'm going to spend my time hunting instead.

I’m also back in chapter 2 I unfortunately freed Micah so I could do the mission for the fences tho. Now I’m dragging it out.

I have dragged out rescuing Micha in both playthroughs and in one I tried to wait till he hung abandon him and kill/ let him be killed. Sadly he is "essiential"... shame there is no way to have him swing in Strawberry

It amazes me how much meat the camp always needs during chapter 2 & 3.

Just a small tip if you have a horse that has little stamina if you're in chapter 3 you can buy a boat for your camp and then row to the iguana, that way you tire your horse and also the iguana is a small animal so you won't have to stow it's pelt you just put it in your satchel and then row back to camp and donate the pelt :)
Or even better just get the free white Arabian at the start of ch. 2

@@almatsailaukhan9181 yep but the biscuit glitch is horribly exhausting to trigger just for one extra bar. But gotta agree the Arabian looks ridiculously tiny for Arthur and that silver dapple looks better imo. Just buy the black arab in ch 4 and the ultimate rose grey bay arab in epilogue.
Always better to get all the satchels in chapter 2. You can just get any boat by the shore as well.
Photographer guy is also available from chapter 2. I prefer getting the Silver DP from him.

Don’t forget to NOT accidentally trample your game with your horse after you kill it. The pelt gets ruined.

I imagine that a Wendigo swoops down and snatches him up, skipping from tree top to tree top until he's deposited daintily at his next business location. Sometimes he stops by Donner Falls for a shower and a trim. When they go over Roanoke Ridge, he yells HI to Falconer Jerry.

Badgers are a pain. If you’re having trouble finding one try Bolger Glade. Also if you’re in chapter 3 check your eagle eye at the entrance to the Clemens Cove camp every time you come home. I’ve seen several 3 star badgers there

Weird tip but there’s one static spawn for one right behind the trapper near Riggs station. Just make a save point right near there and keep reloading till you find a perfect one. Took me like ten minutes to get a perfect one👍🏻

“If I’m doing any serious hunting I want a thoroughbred” made me chuckle but feels right and makes sense. Good horses, they keep me mostly safe from big cats, grizzlys, and can outrun anything you track
Tip: the oil derrick (twin stack pass) is best for rabbit and squirrel, I found my badger and raccoon at bolder glade (the old battle field)
Love your narration dude. Obtaining all the satchels is definitely one of my favourite activities, the Legend of the East satchel was especially handy back in the good old days of the gold bar glitch :)

My brain when it gets dark and I’m out in the wilderness.
I got rushed on by a pack while doing a treasure hunt. I always keep loaded up on tonics and have my Lancaster handy. I fortunately survived the attempted attack for these reasons. Thought I was doomed because as I ran away on horseback in a panic, I hit a log and flipped off.
I outrun them when they start chase. I only kill them when I need them for the trapper items.
This is exactly what happened to me lol, found a three star with two others around it, shot it from afar, suddenly other red dots start appearing near me... nearly died but got that perfect pelt in the end hahahah

@@superantonio so...started a new walkthrough..have the legend of the east satchel now...in chapter 2 lol...first panther 1 star, 2nd and 3rd 2 star and my 4th and 5th were perfect... bagged the 5th panther at the spawn point where the trail intersection is...used regular predator bait and crouched next to that boulder close by... took less than a minute

The panther has killed me about 5 times. Gunna have to try this method tomorrow. The rabbit pelt has been the most annoying/difficult for me. I hate those things

A guide for this may seem kinda trivial, cause you can google it all. But I’ll be the first one to say this made getting all of the upgrades much easier, all of the info in one spot, much appreciated. Had to give you a like and a sub for that one!
If I ever have issues with hunting Super Antonio has always made it so much easier. His pather trick works every time and spots he recommends always have the intended animal. 😉
Howdy fellas, i got a tip for hunting live stock.
So what usually happens is they're heavily guarded by ranchers and plenty of witnesses (except for some locations) so a good trick is to walk into the pen very quickly to stir up the animals a bit then open the gate and the animals should run out by themselves. Once you see they've gone far enough for people to not get mad, just lasso it and stab it and repeat as many times as you need.

The easiest way to get a 3 star buffalo is on the hunting mission with Charles in chapter 2. They will always be 3 star as long as its a clean kill.
To anybody wondering, Patrick Eggleston refers to the optional activity in Chapter 2 and not the Mandatory hunting mission in Chapter 1, I’m saying this because atleast one person thought he made a typo

I'm one of your silent fans I watch all your videos and don't often comment ......same as you this part of chapter 2 is what I love most and I spend most of my playthroughs in chapter 2 most of the time by the time I reach chapter 4 I just start a new game....... one thing I would like to mention as a tip for you and your fans..... when doing the upgrades to the camp at Horseshoe so you can get your Legends of the east satchel ....I donate money $20 at a time and raise my honor to give money so that I can buy the upgrades by the time I get all the upgrades done I'm almost maxed out for Honor.... might as well make all that money do more then buy upgrades .... love the videos keep up the good work

If you can get to that point where loudmouth dutch is stuck in his tent and ratboy Micah is still in jail that's the best time to knock out satchels and challenges. I believe it is right before the mission where you go get drunk with Lenny. Happy trails fellow rdr2 geeks.
Gonna be very time-consuming, but I struggled greatly keeping supplies last run. So I don't mind. Especially gonna come in handy collecting cigarette cards so I don't have to discard packs every few seconds.
Update: I'm on a new playthrough, and these tips are greatly minimizing the time and effort! Bought a halfbred, in addition to going after the legendary buck first. It's hunting the predators that'll always give me anxiety. Hopefully I'll always be able to come across that random event with the wolves trapping the man. Seems the easiest to bag their pelts.
Its the cougars and bears that make me sweat, everything else is just a matter of finding them and hoping they're 3 star. Have you found dino bones or dreamcatchers as well) do you have to to get 100%
In reference to the snake skin saddle, I have found that if you have the trinket, you can get perfect snake skins about 2 of every 3 perfect snakes with the varmint rifle, instead of fiddling with small game arrows. You will shoot them and it will show it losing a star when you go to skin, but after skinning will show up as a perfect skin

The key is knowing the spawn points and using potent herbivore bait (vanilla flower and violet snowdrop). It’s pretty easy to get a female to spawn at Carin Lake. Bull moose are trickier but I’ve found them right beside Veteran’s Homestead, Cattail Pond, and right between Willard’s Rest and the legendary moose location. Beware of wolves at the first two and the cougar at the last one though.
New player here 25yo man barely got to play games due to having my beautiful babies. But having been away from them due to splitting up with there mother I got to play this and it was a good stress relief. It’s very therapeutic

You can get a bolt action rifle from the second pair of bounty hunters during the first shall be last. (The two you kill after knifing the previous pair, the mission where you rescue Sean).
The panther is easier, now the cougar… that’s a lot harder to “hunt” and scope it out for a perfect pelt. It’s kind of just a chance. I saved before the cougar hunt that way if I didn’t get a perfect pelt I just reload the save and try again.
Also, for some odd reason the raccoon took me like 2-3 hours of real time to find. Same as the badger took a bit. But as soon as I had those pelts they were everywhere lol.
Honestly this is some of the best Red dead redemption two content I’ve seen in a long time
Did I mention I hate badgers? For the rest of my time in this game I will trample badgers wherever I see them. I know this may seem extreme but for three days ONE perfect badger pelt has stood between me and my Legend of the East 99-slot satchel for this run-through of Arthur. Every time it would flash on the screen that "You cannot harvest all of this animal's parts because your puny bag is full," my hatred would grow. Now I'm nursing it and looking for victims. (grin) [Note: there is a stable spawn point on the rocks behind the Trapper near Riggs Station. If it's not 3-star when you see it, leave it be and run off a ways and come back. I got this done in five minutes.]

Alternate/Less Challenging/Post Epilogue method: Buy the satchel at Van Horn Fence
That is for lazy dog person ..always want the easy method not having to endure tedious hours of hunting .
The Perfect Badger is by far the most Legendary animal in the game. It's like trying to find a unicorn. (UPDATE) Finally found one after about 4hrs of hunting in 3 different locations.

Found it in like 5 minutes lol they always spawn on a specific rock in bolder glade

I go for this too at the first opportunity! I love being able to craft more than a couple tonics at once and to have a healthy stock for special amo.
I will try with a Throughbred when hunting next to see if they spawn more 3 star game as that is what slows me down the most. Generally I don't use race horses for hunting. I guess that is changing
Blood bay thouroughbreds are awesome
Some panther or cougar tips you likely don't need for your next play through are: 1- Eat something protein-ish and get all your cores up all the way 2- Drink some moonshine to get your health-ring glowing 3- Use some predator bait or a delicious carcass if necessary to lure the monster into your sights 4- Rub some scent masking lotion on yourself. I don't know if that last one works but it makes me feel 7% less nervous as I anticipate the lovingly administered head rub that will occur at any moment. 5- Make sure your insurance policy is paid-up. (But buy only what you need.)
those are some great tips doc, i don't bother with scent lotion but i should, it would come in handy with buffaloes and maybe even wild horses...
Nah man, just ride horseback. They will roar before they come to pounce, so the moment you hear that roar, go deadeye and headshot.

I remember staying up literally all night crafting all the satchles for this satchle at the start of chapter 2. Man, that badger was a PAIN in the ass to get, i was about to give up on looking for him until i saw a little guy walking through some bushes, and it was a 3 star badger. the rest was relatively easy to get.
Oh yeah and heres a tip if you are having trouble finding buffalo, just do the hunting quest with charles at the start of the game, make sure you have a scoped rifle, and snipe a perfect buffalo in the head using deadeye so you know you dont mess it up. If you already did this hunting quest then idk what to say lol, just look for it normally i guess.

Getting these upgrades early can make you significantly richer over the course of the game. Selling excess food at the timber company, selling tonics to the doctors, selling loads and loads of jewelry and gold to the fence.

First, you must find a girlfriend or boyfriend among all NPC on the map.(we will guess its a girlfriend) You must give her a gift or watever to get her . Depend of the npc you'll get , she can give u abilities depend of what she do ... i let rockstar decide .
After you get her , she can ride with you , hunt ,even fight , you can customise her clothes , weapon etc
When your in a posse , she come back to your camp or house or whatever , maybe grow plants etc. And once your alone you can get her with you again .
Now you can take care of her , bring her with you , give her gift or watever fill a bar , once full , you can have a child , take time to grow up until he become a tenager. Once he or she became a teen ( i will guess he is a boy) you can bring him with you at the same time of ur wife , maybe he will unlock skills or whatever .
So all this can gives u npc to play with you when your alone and give your family something to do with maybe ur house or your camp , i'm 100% sure there is a ton of ideas rockstar can give to that main idea .

the Buck Antler Trinket and this video is all you ever need to hunt everything there is to hunt with Arthur.
This, and the Springfield with a Scope, and the VArmint with a Scope, and a little patience.
Squirrel: there is always one 3 Star Sqirrel at the same spot where you hunt the wild boar, at the cabin near Emerald Ranch. Also there is always a 3 Star Rabbit there.

it said bigger capacity but i had no idea it'd be 99 of everything lmao. combined with a couple of treasures and looting, i am loaded with tonics and gunfights are a way to pull off the coolest shots
If you go up the waterfall of that lake you'll get to the upper Montana River, along that river the area is filled with 3 star beavers. Just make sure you don't step for on the other side of the river, because that's blackwater. If you shoot a Beaver there, pick it up and move to somewhere safe to skin it.
Took me a full day to get all the skins
But finished it in act 2

hi gigi, chapter 2-3 is the sweet spot for arthur free roaming, and the springfield with a scope is essential for hunting, have fun!
It is a grind... somewhat. I just need that elusive cougar pelt... and tracking and studying it. For that, you need bait. Poor Kiearan (however you spell it) has been tied to that tree for a LONG time in my game. I'm not advancing any further. Not until I get my Hermoine bag. I don't wanna loot anything only to find out that I can't carry any more of this and that. I explore and reveal the map as little as possible, only as needed... mostly.
thank you so much for doing all the work that must go in such an in depth video - I watch it over and over again as Im hunting down all for the satchel, I wish I could like over and over again (Im always sharing the link when I watch it :) ) does anyone have tips about wolves, when the random thing doesnt happen? not sure, if I maybe did it already and just forgot, but it doesnt spawn anymore :( preferred without dying immediately would be nice :D I think this will be a real problem, as there are always so many of them the horses go crazy and you cant really aim for the head - or you aim and get the head and then die when the horse whips you off :D :D

Do yourself a favor and if you can't find the big cats, STAY ON YOUR HORSE! The Horse has a danger sensor Arthur does not, and Big Cats don't play games, let them throw you off the horse because they will run off to come back for the kill which you can use to line up your shot.
Pearson's sweater does indeed, look holey. My guess is they're not bullet holes. By the same token, they're likely not holy.

Get the satchel first! Then get gold bars. Fence them. Make sure you have highest honor to where you get 25% off. Buy all provisions before going to Applewood timber for the FIRST TIME. Thats 99 items that you can carry of food and tonics. Then sell them for a premium price and BAM! A bunch of free $$$.
FINALLY completed the satchel last night after several multi-hour marathons - next time I will DEFINITELY get the legendary buck trinket first - can't tell you how many times I would try to find one of the animals, only for it to be a one or two star.
Also, some of the "common" animals took longer to find than the more unique ones - of course, once I would finally get a perfect pelt then I would run across them everywhere.🙄

Hey Antonio I love your videos. I have questions as to how you did this in early chapter two, how did you get the buck trinket crafted I’d you haven’t unlocked the fence? Also how did you get money to buy all these weapons so early? Any insight would be amazing. Thank you!
Hey there, the fence is locked at the begining? Didnt know about that, I think they are open from the start of chapter two. I think the nearest one is in Rhodes, u can go there with train, also the money problem can be solved by doing a Jack Hall treasure, which is an stranger that sell u a map for 10 bucks near Swanson's first mission in chapter two. Just look some YT video how to do it and what the locations are, I did the same thing. U get there 2 gold bars worth of 500 dollars each. I am doing it right now, but I just want to make as few missions as possible, and he said he made tommy mission in valentines, hosea mission with legendary bear and straus mission to unlock ledger to buy crafting upgrades, so I am ready for new playthrough.

I realize that it has been a couple of years since you made this video but I was hoping that you could offer a little advise. I have killed two different cougars on this same stretch of road at Owanjila, both of them 2 star, head shots and spawning after Arthur slept for 18 hrs. For some reason I can't seem to get a 3 star perfect pelt to spawn in, no matter how long I wait. Did you get your perfect pelt with no problems, or am I just doing something wrong? And I have the legendary buck trinket. Thanks for any help, Greg
Try using only regular ammo on a clean Springfield Rifle. I had the same problem with three star panthers. Shot them right between the eyes and got 2 star pelts. Was using Express ammo. Changed to regular ammo. Problem solved.
The most frustrating aspect is that I want to hunt down all these animals ASAP and get that satchel, but the hunting and acquisition of perfect pelts is SOOO much easier once you have manual tagging which you don't get til the latter half of chapter 2. Really wish one of chapter 2's first missions gave you manual tagging, I hate the auto-tag. BTW, I often find badgers by the dreamcatcher tree near where you got the buck at 5:05, if you have the buck trinket the odds of a 3 star badger is obviously higher....

I always never added a scope on a rifle in rdr2 because I thought the rifle would always be using the scope, this video taught me that I was wrong

@@Hypocrite9085 I can't speak for everyone, but every time I go there he disappears after the first wolve frightens my horse, it's only after a few encounters am I able to chase him to his cave.

If you want to make the game fun, got get yourself a pair of glasses-plain lens but clear, maybe +1 magnification to add some blurriness. duct tape over one lens then use scotch tape over the other but leave a area about the size of a Dime in the center. At night turn down your birghtness till everything is a shadow and, in the mission with a lot of fog/mist during the day turn it up about 10x. Also make sure your Buck Antler Trinket is NOY Crafted [[mine seems to not wor]]...now you know why on playthru3 it's taken me eight months and still not crafted everything as Arthur. :D
Takes some time, but it’s definitely doable. And also totally worth it. I get it in chapter 2 every play through

Panther us easy. Bison is easy. The hardest to find animal is a squirrel. I only see them when they about to dissappear
Finally got this satchel the other day. Couldnt use the legendary panther pelt so i just found another panther luckily
