I would love to see an xalps documentary where you can see all pilots positions and tracking information from time to time to see the different approaches and routes. I really miss this information in all of the redbull documentaries so far. It would be very impressive to see the progress, the difference, the thermals and the downwind smack downs...
I find the Red Bull X-Alps to be in an awkward spot as far as marketing goes. On one hand you want to advertise it as "extreme" to be inline with the Red Bull company image. But on the other hand, the people that are interested in the competition are more focused in the decisions the athletes make, the same way one would appreciate a game of chess. We all know that Chrigel and the likes of him fly well and are great athletes, but at the end of the day it's strategy that makes the difference... Gavin McClurg has a great podcast that covers those topics btw !

One of my favorite sports to watch. I love the combination and strategy of flying and hiking, the scenery, the dependence upon nature's conditions, the coordination with the support teams, the unpredictability of where each racer finishes each day - such a great race. For future filming of races, it would be nice to have both an hour version like this as well as a longer version cut up into episodes, where you can really savor the journey of each day without it feeling so rushed.

This is a documentary about Maurer, not X-Alps. Even second group is not mentioned enough. Map is not shown after the intro which makes the documentary very hard to follow. (Although I followed the race from the beginning till the end.) One third of the competitors not mentioned at all, however, the competition was also there in the following groups. I suggest you to make two videos next time; Maurer take off and landing compilation and X-Alps documentary.

I fly in the alpine mountain in California USA .I am in my 60s people ask me hoe do I do it I tell them that I just put my hart into it and see what happens next I would live to show up and compete in this race .winning would be N option but quitting would not .Kelly Carpenter Alpine California.
One thing I know. Many of those guys have no idea how to use trekking poles correctly! The bodyweight pushes down in the palm onto the strap! Guess there is still room to improve!

There is so much walking and not much flying nor the diversity, so it's not so interesting as the earlier X-Alps. Its turning into a marathon. X-More pain less brain.
