I love this on my dry skin. I live in San Antonio where it’s hot and humid already and it holds up.
That's good to hear! I'm in Houston, "The Bayou City", so I was wondering about humidity! Thanks ✌️
My dry as a desert 64yo old skin probably wouldn’t like this, but thanks for the review. You look wonderful!
When I hear Tupelo, I'm reminded of the song Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison...
Love your eye look.
Love that song! Takes me back! ❤
Your skilled looked absolutely delightful with that foundation on. Probably the best i've ever seen it, look.
Your eyes look amazing in this video! I may need to try that pallet.
Looking fine there, Shelly! The foundation looked really nice on you, and the wear time seemed great, too. It requires a little too much tugging for my preferences, but you were rockin' it!
I use the Ilia mascara daily and I love it because it comes off when I wash my face. I never have to use anything else to remove it. I wear it outside in the rain and I've never had it even run onto my face in the rain. I don't know how they do it. Seeing how beautiful this foundation was on your skin (very similar to mine), I'm going to buy it too. Excellent review Shelly.
It looks beautiful on you! It does give that soft focus look which is so pretty. I'm on the fence though, this is a definite maybe. Nacho Daddy looked amazing!!!
I just bought this minutes before the video posted! I certainly hope it's a good shade match.
I have a dry skin and dry climates too… I can confirm whatever that you like, my skin will like it too. I tried ilia stick on the weekend and it didn’t glides on my hand. It hard to blends! Not like Fenty stick. Exactly what you said. I’m a busy mum, Skin foundation stick mean you can do quicker job and maybe applied it on the car. Ilia wasn’t for me.
I love this foundation stick so much, I can't stop using it since picking it up early April. I also got an incredible shade match so it really looks undetectable. It's also great for travel. I have dry skin and I find it easier to blend in with a buffing brush right after freshly applied moisturiser or the BB vitamin enriched face base, it helps it to move and spread much easier than a dryer base as the foundation isn't very emollient as you said!
Looks very nice on you.
I have dry and dehydrated skin and live in a dry climate and I think you are a victim of the desert with this one. I used this foundation with primer and love it - I had a much easier time getting it on than you did, but I used a damp sponge. For reference my fave is the Nars Radiant also. So glad you reviewed this!
I’m afraid I would not like the Ilia foundation! A dry formula on my dry skin wouldn’t be a pleasant experience for me! As you stated, tugging and manipulating of the skin cannot be a good thing. Perhaps if you could have used a hydrating primer, you wouldn’t have met with as much resistance that caused the manipulation. I envy those people who have oiler skin that would have meld with the dryness of the foundation and make it look dewier overall throughout the day. Good, informative video Shelly, Thanks! 🌵
Hello fellow Cat Lover! I have 10 cats! I am so glad you reviewed this because I am on the fence about trying it. We have similar skin but I live in the desert. Please review the new Natasha Denona Hyglam Powder Foundation. Thank you!
It’s hard to judge in such a drying climate but I think it held up pretty well! Hope you had a good trip!
Hey could you review the Tir Tir Korean foundation. And would love your review on Haus Labs concealer. I would love to see your analysis of both of these items as I trust your reviews!!
Thanks, Helen - added to my list!!
Traveling with few skincare products could be the problem with that foundation stick. I would use it with a hydrating serum spray underneath, and with a K-beauty serum/milky lotion applied immediately before the stick. But you did get the desired look, I think. Best of luck at the gaming tables, and thanks for the video!
i hope you could do a comparison review of the more recent, Leaping Bunny certified foundation sticks such as from Well People, Trestique, Nudestix, Ogee, Ilia, Bellapierre. would highly appreciate it. thanks!
Hi Shelly, I sent in my review in the hair texture cream. Thank you again.
Also could you review the Natasha D’s new powder foundation it claims it is even good on dry skin more than oily and I am dry skin just like you.
Thank you and Take Care 💕😻🐈⬛
Thank you so much, Cindy!! If it didn't give you a discount code at the end of the survey (I think I had a setting wrong), email me and I'll send it to you!!
Which do you prefer this ilia stick or the fenty foundation stick? Great video ❤
Yes, I want to know this!!!
Fenty stick - much easier to apply. I am not one that wants to work so hard to put my face on 🤣
@@goow Awesome, ty!
The pilling is probably the No7 serum acting up with the stick foundation--I have gotten some pilling with that product. It is loaded with silicones, the one drawback of that formula. Shade Tupelo looks fairly yellow to be called neutral; it's the sort of undertone I'd go for (though I'd need a lighter shade). I'll give this one a pass due to the dryish formula--I would have liked it years ago when I had oily skin ,it looks so smooth in daylight. Dragon Eye palette still slaying. Your eyes look Guh-REEN! The tie-dye helps too, picking up those green tones.
My dry skin may not handle this well but I just have to say - I love Nacho Daddy’s!!!! Can’t wait to go visits my friend in Vegas and get me some lol 🎉
It's so good that I will definitely go there on future trips even if I am not staying downtown!
Can you review the charlotte tilbury foundation stick?
It's a nice foundation, but it does not seem suitable for dry skin, so it's a pass for me.
Thanks all the same for another thorough review and some glimpses of LV.
I just did a blind buy on this.... hoping it's good! 😬
Hi Shelly, I’ve been out for a while but here I am and it’s so good to be catchin’ up! I don’t like the pilling, that is disappointing. I like the true neutral, which is what I am…I think! I can’t remember trying stick foundation, but, why not? Don’t like the matte finish, so it’s not for me , but I do love the soft look you got! Thank you for trying it out for us! That Dragon Eye palette box is cool! Hey have you heard of Half Caked cosmetics? They have a Star Bright Under Eye Brightener and a Candy Paint Cheek and Lip Tint. Could you check them out and do a review?
Okay then, got the 80’s music playing. Hope you liked Nacho Daddy! 🎣
I haven't tried Half Caked but it sounds like I need to!
Hi, Important QUESTION not related to this video. I ordered the No 7 Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum for $18 on a sale at Walgreens. I don't need to use it now though. How long do you think it would be good unopened? Or do you have any idea. I know this is a good price. I may not need to use for 6 months or so. Thanks!
Most skin care will be 2-3 years unopened, and then whatever the label says once opened (the little jar icon with a 6 or a 12 or 24 or whatever number of months after opening). There's a batch code checker online so you can look up a batch code (usually printed on the bottle) and see when it was manufactured - www.checkfresh.com/boots.html Boots would be the No 7 stuff.
Hmmm. Not sure this would be for me. It looks matte. Not a great fan of stick foundation. Now in daylight, it doesn't look as matte.
It's very nice on you, Shelly! Enjoy Vegas!! ❤❤
Im 47 and graduating ( again) on Saturday. I live in Central NY and it will be a bit rainy . I have normal to dry skin. I own MANY foundations and makeup products. Can you recommend a few for me to wear.? I want coverage that lasts. I will use powder and setting spray.
Many congratulations to you! Graduating is such a wonderful feeling! My son graduates in June from the University of Washington and I’m so excited for him! It’s a great feeling, isn’t it? Best of luck to you. ❤
@@janfromseattle thanks. Yes it's a great feeling. I always need to feel I accomplished something to keep my self love up. But the truth of the matter is that I love learning. In the Navy I was a Photographer. After the Navy I became a Registered nurse. After taking some time off from that I am now graduating with an associates in Automotive Technician Specializing in Fords. Now I'm a mechanic. Lol Also going to class with 9 students who are 18 or 19 years old was a very unique experience. I am 47. Lol 😆
I’m impressed Liisa! I feel that we should never stop learning! So great to hear of your eclectic learning experiences! I bet you’re wonderful at a cocktail party! 😉
Congratulations!!! I am too late but I always go with either MAC foundations or Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place when I am going to be out in the rain!
Thank you Shelly for reviewing Ilia Stick foundation. For sure won’t be purchasing it. My dry, dehydrated skin would not like it at all. I do not like any foundation that’s difficult to apply and is not hydrating. Actually, at soon to be 63, I’ve barely been wearing foundations as they all make me look older. I sometimes apply a small amnt of IT Glow CC foudnation to even my tone. Never disappoints me. Hope you had lots of fun in Viva LV. Tha
Hmmm did you use a setting spray. I’m not sure this is would be good for really mature skin All the rubbing is not good 😂. Thanks
No setting spray (I usually don't). I probably gave myself a dozen wrinkles applying it 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Jen Phelps just listed the beauty channels she watches and guess who she said gives great foundation reviews?
There is no way she knows who I am!!! I might faint now! 🤣
Fragrance free, as you mentioned, does not mean odour free.
That is such a good way to say it - I need to remember this!
Interesting way to pronounce Tupelo... I guess there must be another Tupelo than the one in Mississippi.
Obviously she made a mistake.
@@ninahannum1894 I wasn't saying that at all. I'm sure there are other places called Tupelo, and I would never say the Southern pronunciation of any word is the only one. I truly meant it was interesting. There's a blush called "Pomelo," and I've heard at least four different pronunciations of it depending on where the creator lives. Language is interesting!
@@auntroriI agree. The first time I went to NYC and heard how they pronounced the street Houston, I was floored! 🤣 Being that I’m from Houston. Mind blown but I guess there are different pronunciations depending on region/state. I agree with you, very interesting!
@@Supastarr1976 I lived in NYC for 5 years and both of my parents were Houstonians--I could always tell the out of towners by how they pronounced Houston Street...Bless their hearts! 💖
I have no idea how to pronounce it so I am certainly wrong.
