Any object or thing used to attack or kill somebody now becomes the assault weapon in the court of law. So a hand, foot, or stick all technically becomes assault weapons. Fact… far many more people are killed by beat downs then AR’s! It’s not the weapon, it’s the person who is killing or harming another person.

"Wouldn't restrictions reduce the rate of shootings?" The highest volume of shootings come from places with the strictest gun laws. They fail to comprehend that criminals will be the only ones with weapons if all weapons are illegal for civilians to possess. It's hard for those from submissive cultures like Australia, Canada, and the UK, to understand the erosion of rights once there is freedom from consequence. The British banned knives over 6 inches. Now it's illegal to defend yourself from burglary or SA in the UK, and you're a criminal if you defend another from it.
Any rights stripped from the citizen is a right granted to a criminal.

    • @sadoldgit313
      @sadoldgit313 2 месяца назад +1

I agree with most of your points, particularly the metric of criminal possession! However, it’s
not illegal to defend yourself in the UK, The current UK law permits people to defend themselves or others, to prevent crime or to protect property using force that was reasonable in the circumstances as they believed them to be. What constitutes `reasonable force’ will depend upon the circumstances of each case and is a matter for the courts to decide.”
This means that while you are allowed to use force to defend yourself, anything falling outside of ‘reasonable force’ will not qualify. For example, if the measure are obviously excessive or the act was in response to historic violence. However, if you can prove that your actions were necessary given what you believed to be true at the time, then this is acceptable and you have acted within the law.

My feelings on gun laws are mixed - (my father made Kentucky rifles when I was little) Just to give an example - my husband is from Italy. Italy has VERY strict gun laws. You can get a gun IF you can prove you NEED one - like you own a jewelry store. If, for example, you have a gun for that reason the gun can't go anywhere BUT that store. You can't have it in your car, your home, etc. IF you want a gun to shoot at a range - you can use one at a range and it stays there. Italians seem unconcerned about not having guns. They can't understand why we need or want them. I am not saying I do or do not share their view.. only what my interactions and experience with the culture has been. I do feel less afraid there might be a shooting when I hear a rowdy gang of kids and we are walking home at night. Again, my feelings on this subject are mixed. I used to be completely anti-gun - but lately have been a little more liberal in my thinking.

I think there is a simple argument for the 2A. It’s deterrence. Police cannot prevent crime, they are only able to respond after the crime occurs and arrest someone, then the DA needs to prosecute, and the judge needs to sentence. All of that does not create enough deterrence to criminal activity. If you have a gun, then criminals should be deterred because they know that they might die. Responsible gun ownership generates a strong deterrence against criminal activity, and that alone is good enough argument for the 2A, besides the idea that the purpose is simply to protect citizens against government overreach and tyranny, which is also an important argument.

Outside of this classroom one side says the other is wrong and doesnt want to hear the other or why they think or feel the way they do without getting their feelings hurt and having a mental breakdown. Hes engaging the students to ask questions instead of fear mongering and forcing his opinions on them. Very impressed with the way he is running this class. Asking questions is the key to learning, Instead of fear driven decisions based on less than factual reality.

Personally don’t think I’ll be owning one any time soon but there are already processes you have to go to as a civilian to attain a gun and even more so for rifles and stuff so what’s the problem? Also, when regular law abiding citizens don’t have concealed carry, what makes people think regular criminals- like ppl who actively commit crime- are gonna abide by those law restrictions on guns? Like what makes people think a gang member in Chicago is not gonna find a gun illegally or a thief is not gonna find a way to get a gun to threaten their victims… that’s just my thought process though.

Most of these same people would want to lecture you to not stereotype other generalization, like race or culture, but then they themselves stereotype the possession of "guns". We train our body and minds to respond appropriately under stressful situations. So if a person is out with friends drinking socially, they shouldn't know how to properly use a weapon when under the influence? What about military personnel knowing how to perform under pressure? So my thought is more of...knowing how to use a firearm safely is excellent, but more people should go through extra training to learn how to use a firearm for situational awareness while in a stressful situation.

How many shootings take place in an area that allows conceal carry or open carry?
    VS
How many shootings where guns are prohibited?
Answer: Mass shootings, aimless shootings and killings HAPPEN WHEN GUNS ARENT ALLOWED!
As she pointed out, the texas shooting, if the security guard wasnt armed, how much more death would happen?
If a mass shooting, school, theatre etc happened and gun toting americans could have guns there, THEY WOULDNT HAPPEN!
These predators and murderers target areas they know they wont have resistence PURPOSEFULLY!
If everyone carried, there would 100% be less crime because good righteous moral people would stand up and have the ability to stand up against those attempting criminal acts.
