I'm kind of surprised they didn't give Lava Burst to Elemental at baseline from the start of Dragonflight. Though when I first heard that they were getting it for free, I was worried that meant "They put it into Elemental's kit for free, and it's no longer in the class talents at all". I'm glad that's _not_ how they did it!
Shamans were always the pathway to darker magic because of their connections to the spirits. Difference between shamanism and necromancy is necromancy forces the dead to rise. Shamans call on the spirits for help
Nope still very far from saved still. We need new abilities in the form of defensives and give ghost wolf the ability to escape binds like druids. We also need existing abilities either removed or combined because we have waaaaay too many buttons atm. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE US 2HAND ENHANCE!!!
@@Cumbernumb most of those issues have been resolved. Stone Bulwark Totem is literally the defensive we’ve been asking for making its return. Our Windwalk Totem removes snares for everyone, button bloat complaint is only a true issue with all the PvP utility talents, and 2H is not viable to balance to make the animations.
@@Amplifymagic Nonsense. 2H enchance could use the same animations and then just teh racial 2h animation. WW on warriors uses the same animation for both. SBT is nice, sure. Button bloat is still a major issue.
@@MrThundaro wrong, 2H would need to attack twice as if hitting with the offhand. WW don’t attack with weapons, they have weapons sheathed and irrelevant.
never understood why they nerfed shaman immunities/cc breaks when other classes got to keep theirs. mages can breaks stuns... and shamans is the worst when it comes to being able to CC enemies as well. lackluster survivability as you say, with a pitiful self heal where enhance have to sacrifice LOTS of damage to heal themselves. as for 2hand enhance. they can start by making windfury actually good again. without it 2h is just dumb. i would also like if they turned down the caster aspect of enhance. its a melee specc, i dont want the vast majority of my damage to come from the same abilities that elemental shamans spam. why cant they just give us a melee maelstrom spender?
Shaman is looking good, im quite happy with the class. Although as a rsham enjoyer, i would like a melee option for the spec, much like fistweaver, catweave, and hpal. Maelstrom weapon rsham, i would love my rsham even more
The fact that Blizzard isn't promising changes to Demon Hunter is alarmingly bad. That class is in shambles and I guess they love it when Havoc is like that.
Ah damn... got me really excited for a second there that i had missed something. As an enhancement shaman i cant say I'm excited for TWW at all... Haven't bought the expansion yet and my sub has run out so i might just skip the expansion all together or join if enhance gets a good update in a later patch. But credit where credit is due. Blizz did make 3 or so changes that i liked.
Yes there's QoL stuff, but no. I and about 7 other elemental shaman players I know aren't too 'hyped' thematically. There seems to be a general consensus between non-high-end raiders that there's a lack of meaningful cool abilities to press. Like the one thing that is pretty cool is primordial wave + having lava burst shoot out all ways, but... primordial wave is still Shadowland flavour/coloured.. when is it going to look more shaman-esque? If they're changing that for TWW then great. Additionally.. there's the whole Ascendence / proc thing, but ... in general other than summoning one or two elementals... there's not really a true "Elemental powerhouse" feel to the class that leaves most of us wanting for maybe 1 more cooldown ability to press that maybe summons some storm or that feels like you're making use of multiple elements at the same time or maybe make earthquake more appealing rather than just some flat cracks on the ground? Most of the times it just feels like you're "Fire caster" or "Lightning caster" not "Elemental" So at least hoping they manage to allow for "weaving between elements" to be viable enough and more fun rather than clunky.
yhea, its my biggest gripe with current enhance, the active rotation (abilities with less than one minute cooldown) is sitting at 9... NINE!! i have tried many classes and specs in DF and i am pretty sure its the most of everyone. and the build diversity is also a big problem especially when it comes to AOE, as you dont really have any viable AOE abilities in single target builds. enhance needs less 2 pointers or at the very least have some basic baseline aoe.
AMEN. Playing enhance is a nightmare because of all the bullshit but I've been playing it since WotLK so I can't exactly stop now. Just tone it back to where they were around MoP. I think right now they probably have one of the most complicated rotations in the game.

@@emptyforrest If we’re playing Elemental Enhancement, we have 11 active abilities to use: Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Elemental Blast, Crash Lightning, Storm Strike, Ghost Wolf, Primordial Wave, Ice Strike, Frost Shock, Lava Lash, Flame Shock. This doesn't include Earth Elemental, Blood Lust, Racial, and On Use Trinket(s). Our DPS is separated into Single Target and AoE. On TOP of that, we have 2 layers of priority: Flame Shock target, then spread flame shock with Lava Lash to the next 3 targets. You want up to 6+ targets with Flame Shock so you can max out Primordial Wave for damage and Haste Buff. For max damage, you need to tab target each target with Lava Lash to enhance your Flame Shock damage. Then there is Ice Strike. When you spend your Maelstrom it'll enhance your Frost Shock damage and hit up to 6 targets. So a BASIC Shaman will do the 1st layer just fine. But a top Shaman will get to the 2nd part. The complexity of it isn't realistic in high keys cause of the trash mechanics you have to watch out for, if you're lucky, or told to focus on a target to interrupt an ability. I don't think other DPS spec have it anywhere as hard as Shamans.

Super outdated video. And also that whole “we plan to continue iterating on these changes through beta…” was obviously bullshit. One week after the first major shaman changes dropped and Mages still had more notes than shaman, so did paladins, and some other classes.

Farseer summons ghosts. Shaman now have a necromancy tree.
