- Today we took the British rappers to a legit street market stall to have some real authentic bunshik! We had some classic tteokbokki, sundae, twigim, and oumuk. But then we also threw them a little curve ball...

I love how since it's Luke's first time in Korea, too, everyone keeps feeding him so he can enjoy the trip even though he's working.
Also how Josh is actually better with spice than the guy who grew up on Ghanaian food because of all the spice challenges he's done.
And, yes, peanut M&Ms are great for killing spice. Starch, sugar, fat, cold, and casein are the best things for cooling your mouth off from spicy food, and peanut M&Ms are all sugar, fat, and starch. Slightly better than milk, since milk is usually cold, fat, sugar, and casein, which are all things that help neutralize the spice, but starch actually scrapes it off, so combining starch with one of the others is your best bet. (That or going for _really_ cold and _lots_ of fat, sugar, and casein, which is why ice cream is even better!) The _fastest_ way to get rid of spice is actually mouthwash (or swish-and-spit with vodka or everclear), because capsacin is highly soluble in alcohol, but it really hurts while you're doing it, because you're piling the burn of alcohol on top of the burn from the capsacin.
I've tried hot water and its just like the mouthwash. It really works.

I discovered this channel just this week and I binge watch All their videos and I can say that BUVNA is one of my favorites actually all of cast and guest are my favorite but this two has a special place on my heart. Usually in Rappers we see them as a tough person or they have a tough personality but with Isaac and Barney you can see that With their profession they have a deep appreciation of everything. Plus they're funny! 😂 Can't wait for the next video! ❤

I gotcha! It's how I finally got up the courage to try a local Korean BBQ restaurant in a new city I moved to. Watching all these videos made we want to eat the food so much! I actually learned how to make Korean fried chicken cause I can't eat regular fried chicken (wheat allergy) and now I have several Korean cookbook and will travel a ways to go to a Hmart to get stuff I need to cook. This channel has definitely allowed me to see more of the world.

Buvna is hands down my favorite series. I loved all of your previous series but this one has really just captured me.
The shopkeeper warned them bc she wanted to avoid the shenanigans that come with spicy delirium lol. I remember eating this unbelievably spicy salsa at a Mexican restaurant once. The lady at the counter warned us but I figured she was exaggerating and poured it regularly. Felt so bad causing a whole scene but I seriously could not breathe 😂

Sometimes I feel so sad being a vegetarian because some of this food looks amazing and I want to know what it's like to eat this super spicy stuff. Excited for the vegan temple food next week.

BBQ is delicious in Korea, but vegan food is really diverse and tastes good. Various wild vegetables are blanched or cooked, seasoned, and seasoned with sesame oil for a savory flavor and texture. A more delicious meal is complete when paired with rice, a staple food of Korea :)
i'm sure there are veg versions of these. it's the sauce that's spicy. maybe like spicy tteokbokki without fishcake. don't be sad :)

I could not be more excited for the temple food! My wife and I recently featured some temple food in Seoul on our small channel, and it was such a special experience. Didn't realize going into it how wonderful it would be!

Ohh, interesting advice.. I need to give the chocolate a try! I like spice, but once in awhile I get ambushed by some 매운갈비탕, 닭꽃이, 떡볶이, etc. Good to be prepared! 😅

Great episode but I’m looking forward to the temple stay. I’ve always wanted to do a temple stay when I was in Korea but I never make it and so I want to live vicariously thru Buvna. Plus, it would be cool to see a calm and quietly thoughtful Barney. I totally relate to Barney and his loud-ass. I don’t know how many times random people have told me to shut-up cause of my loud-ass voice lol
