  • I'm super glad I chose to study abroad in Japan this January. Meeting people from different cultures and being immersed in a new environment has definitely allowed me to grow as a person. Learning and using Japanese is also super tough. But, hey, no one said it was going to be easy! Looking forward to another great week in Tokyo. Many more adventures to come!

Sadly, I would have to wait until my second year in college to attend (I missed the application deadline because we hadn't even given Japanese colleges a thought) but I am excited nonetheless! + I am currently learning Korean, so Japan would be a great place to attend college and visit Korea, since they are the closest neighbor.

    • @ryannakajima
      @ryannakajima  4 года назад +179

      Kymy Yang For me, I really wanted to learn Japanese so it was helpful being exposed to the language every day. Lol my Japanese didn’t improve that much though hahah! Japan is also SO rich culturally, so you’ll definitely learn different customs/traditions. If you talk to the locals and make an effort to speak their language, you can gain a lot. It was interesting to compare Japanese culture to America’s. But yeah, Japan is also beautiful. You can explore the city, but also hike the countryside. Public transportation is also very accessible and easy. Everyone’s experience is different, but I now have a greater appreciation for Japanese culture and can speak the language slightly better. I also met incredible people along the way since students from all over the world came to study at Sophia’s January program.

      I heard that it fully covers the costs of the university that u'll go to and gives you a very decent monthly income
      For more details I've got u a link to this website that explains about MEXT! And how to pass / apply !

    I want to study abrod in Japan for a semester or 2, mabye 3 if i like it.
    Im only just starting highschool, but this is ma plan.
    I want to eather study:
    Preforming Arts. (Acting is ma favrote thing, if i can i want to presue it.)
    Animation. (Im a weeb, and love how anime is drawn, i would love to draw them for a living)
    Pycology/whatever classes people take to become social workers and theripists. (The one ma whole family says is "Most Realistic," becoming a social worker or a theripist)
    *What Does The Internet Think Of Ma Plans That Might Change Because Im Young And Dumb?*

    • @alevalencia5671
      @alevalencia5671 4 года назад +3

      Same here!! I was the same in 8th grade and my freshman year in high school. My plan to study back then was:
      Animation (I wanted to model for video games. I took two years of animation at my highschool and it was really good! If I were you and your highschool offers animation, take the class. But check if it's for 3D or 2D. The first year for me was both 2D and 3D but the following year you could choose which one you wanted focus on the most.)
      Something I don't remember much but it involved Asian culture (?).
      I am currently a junior in high school and graduating class of 2021 but my goal is still there. I'm probably going to take my first two semesters at my local community college so I can save some money and have all of my AP credits taken so I don't have to take two years of foreign language and freshman English so I can just skip to sophomore English. But as soon as I graduate high school I'll be taking summer college classes online so I can do some work while I'm traveling back to Mexico to get a student visa.
      My plans of studying have changed so I'm planning on majoring in mathematics, get a minor in accounting (backup job) and then a doctorate in education because I want to become a college professor and teach abroad.
      Hopefully you will get to go! If you keep your goal in mind then it will come true if you work hard for it :).

    I'm Japanese but I was born and raised in another country. I am looking to live in Japan after I graduate high school, but I want to attend an international university because my Japanese is not 100% perfect (I can't read kanji). I'm very anxious to go... what was the application process like?

    • @ryannakajima
      @ryannakajima  4 года назад +3

      Hi Kiara! The application process was a lot different for me because I only did the one month program at Sophia University. We only had to submit our transcript. If you're applying to be a full-time student at a Japanese University, you need to submit application forms, an essay, standardized test scores, proof of English Proficiency, two letters of recommendation, photocopy of passport, and some other forms. That's for Sophia at least, but most Universities should have similar requirements. I hope everything works out!!
      Here's the link for Sophia: www.sophia.ac.jp/eng/admissions/ug_p/en_ug/fla/w_h.html

    Hello , i want to know about the scope of commerce students in japan , job availability , will japan help me boost my career ? The cost of living is high or can be maintained , if yes , how ? I want to do PG in Japan if possible . What are the jobs in high demand ( commerce stream related) . Rather than that how can i come to japan translator , english teacher and what are the other options ? Is it so hard living in Japan that people actually leave , many people are saying this to me and telling me to drop the idea because its hard to adjust there but yet again many people ( international) are living there so its not that hard .
    Looking forward to hear from you
