Hey everyone! So if you're watching this video and don't feel like purchasing these switches from Durock, a fellow RUclipsr by the name of Keybonbon will be opening a store on 11-16-2020 that will be stocking these switches in the US! You can sign up for the newsletter at kineticlabs.store/ No sponsorship, he's just a very supportive person and fellow content creator :)
Imo i prefer the l7 idk why but they sound more solid and full alpacas sound slightly thinner sure people can say the same materials but regardless the l7 imo do sound better lol
Awesome review! Great to see Durock switches getting more attention. By the way, will there be any chance of you reviewing the Kailh x Novelkeys Sherbet Switch? it seems like a unique switch being a clickbar design in what is more or less a "cherry" housing/stem. I was wondering how it's like because there's barely any reviews/soundtests of it.
Hey glad to see you liked the video! I don’t really purchase clicky switches but I’ll keep it on my radar if there’s a lot of interest! A fellow RUclipsr Keybonbon made a clicky switch video that might help. You should check out his channel. Thanks for watching!
I would buy Durock L7 but the store I buy them from only offers them in 78G spring weight (like WTF?) which is way too heavy for me - there's another store where I can get Alpacas but they're obviously more expensive. However if I buy some lighter springs separately the cost is the same as Alpacas LUL. Oh well... One day in my life I will find a good deal.
Oh nice fellow MOTU M2 and podmic owner! Are you using a cloud lifter of sorts to get your gain up? And also, would you happen to know if these durock L7 are the same as the L2?
Can you do a comparison on smoke housings vs clear housings? I really want to know how much Smokey housings affect rgb but I can’t find a good representation
Im planning to use this switches on kbd67lite, im coming from gat yellows, and i would like to try the 67g variant would you recommend it for someone who havent tried heavy bottom out?
I have a question, what is the difference between a durock linear switch and a durock L7 switch? I keep seeing durock switches with the letter L and then a number but I'm not sure if that is any different than durock linear switches.
@@nairajbudnarine4728 yeah they correspond with the color. L1 are yellow, L2 are light blue ish, L3 are pink, L4 are purple, L5 are teal, L6 are red, L7 are black
These are my favorite out of all the linears available at the moment. They have a little of a deeper sound compared to tangies and are much smoother right out of the box. Definitely recommend them. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
@@xomgitsjay thanks man wasn’t sure if it would be more beneficial to fully remove the factory since it would be my first time lubing great video by the way
I would say Gateron V2s would be smoother since they’re not lubed from the factory like durocks are and still feel just as smooth. And they have a little bit of a deeper tone to them than durocks as well. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@xomgitsjay Oh, ok. I see. Did the .0125 solve the issue that a lot of people talk about concerning durock's stem wobble? Hello! Im going to build my first custom keyboard on kbd67 lite and im struggling to choose switches. So are tangerines a lot smoother than rhis durocks and which do you think feels better overall?
The point of the CUSTOM keyboard community is that we all have the option to CUSTOMIZE our keyboards. I like low pitch (thockyness), rgb compatibility, price, availability, smoothness and all that stuff; but it doesn't mean I'll look down on those people who like tactile or clicky switches, you have no idea how different each individual's preference could be, and that is the point of customizable mechanical keyboard.
I'm pretty curious- is there any difference between, let's say L4 and L7? I'd rather grab L4 colourway, but if there's some more differences then I'm going for 7s..
@@autumnleaf4817 Check this store out. Its a new store by a fellow youtuber Keybonbon and he sells them in the colorway I think youre looking for. Hope this helps! Durock L7 vs Gateron black inks
Mauves are basically dry alpacas , just letting peoples know , although mauves are slightly higher pitch
Awesome thanks for letting us know!

@Jay C. HD Can you do a comparison between the Durcock L7 and the Gateron Black Inks? Which would you prefer? Great vids btw!
Gat black inks can't be compared because gateron black inks have low pitch and the durock l7s have a high pitch

Amazon has them with 62g
I might get these, Im used to tactile blue switches but I have heard these are really good
Try these with kailh black stems. I promise you won't be disappointed.
I’ll def give it a try!
Oh nice fellow MOTU M2 and podmic owner! Are you using a cloud lifter of sorts to get your gain up?

They are same just different color and spring weight
Would it be considered as an upgrade from a Gateron Milky Yellows?

it sounds really good, may I know what lube did you use? BTW, Great video!
I used Krytox 205g0 on these and Kebo films. And thanks for watching!

pretty sure the different numbering schemes just represent the different spring weight

Should i buy this or gat black inks?
I would still take Gat Black Inks over these but that’s my personal preference.

Just lightly lubed over the factory lube

which films were these? thick? or non thick? not sure which is the way to go with these switches. thanks

I’m pretty sure they’re about the same thing as the L7 switches except the stem is a different color.
Jay C. HD and i think the springs are different weights

what audio interface is that thanks

great vid

Thank you so much for watching!
my ma spends money on a keyboard but cant get a decent mouse ( no hate )
They look similar to gateron inks
Yup almost identical
Who said my money is hard earned?
lol well played
The title is kinda misleading since alpacas are nylon JWKs and these (Durock L) arent nylon. So both of them are different
but not all twins have to be identical they cant have differences
