    I have these in the doors of my Volvo. Sounds amazing. I do lose a pinch of mid bass do to the tuning. But that will change when i get my wide bands installed

    I doubt the stamp steel will be an issue. They reinforced it with those angles/ridges, rolled edges and rounded openings.

    I have some drivers very very similar to these. They do surprisingly well for midbass I talked them up to a lot of people but no one else really tried them out that I know of. Company no longer sells them but now sells a "midbass" version of them with some changes including a motor quite similar to this one. Have a pair on the way to try out because if they can do midbass better than the old version theyre gonna be a hit with me.

      Both versions have this basket though. Will be interesting to see your tests to compare to these.

    Excited for this! I recently contacted the company requesting a RSq2 12 and considering changing my front stage to them. Looking forward to those results and impressions!

    I've used 6x9 in oem door location over a 6 1/2 specifically because they produce more mid bass. To my ears anyway. I think I can fit that 8 in with slight modification as I do prefer round drivers sound overall.

    Interesting, the faital pro 8" is half the price for 2, the specs are kinda the same but these have more xmax and 10hz lower fs but the faital s are more sensitive.
    Idk if it is worth the import

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  27 дней назад +2

      The faitals are cheaper just because of production numbers. When a company such as faital are producing ridiculous amounts of drivers, the price will be lower than smaller batch drivers. Even if the performance is very close. Scale of economics.

    I believe I'm the first to use xt in car audio. I cross-teched them from RC racing. From there introduction.
    USA.
    XT 30, 60 , & 90. The 60 is the momentarily amp rating. Xt 30 would be more than adequate for that driver. Especially with tined copper silicone wire. The only wire to use in anything enduring. 😊

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  27 дней назад +1

      "Problem" with tx30s is that they are tiny. 60s are kind of optimal size. When I started to post tx connectors in photos everyone was saying that it's from RC world.

    • @jimmiedean8035
      @jimmiedean8035 27 дней назад +1

      @@RAW-CAt I kind of like that the 30s are smaller. Less clutter in tight places.
      I've used two 90s on subs amps for a while now. For people that want to transfer.
      Their amp/box combo's to other vehicles. Amplifier vibration mounts are another thing, few if any use. Stud bolt, on both ends rubber in the middle. Not rubber washers. 🤷‍♂️

    Lol, you saw my post on diymobile about the terminals, I would love to get these MB8.e's but I am still in the doors, I would love to put them maybe under the seats but I am a cuty, cuty virgin so it is quite the commitment, I really don't know if the car I have right now is worth doing that to, I want to trade it in for something a bit more premium but can't do that if it has extra holes in it.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  27 дней назад +1

      Haha you need to learn to solder AND to cut😂

    • @johnd5542
      @johnd5542 27 дней назад +2

      For the price, id give it a shot in the doors. I put SI TM8 in my tundra doors and they get down and sound great. I would have tried this 1st but they werent out yet. I might buy these for the wifes car.

    • @MrCitizenKaned
      @MrCitizenKaned 27 дней назад

      @@johnd5542 This is just what I might do, my doors are treated pretty good, waiting for the next vid from @RAW-CAt to see how he tackles the 6.5 to 8" brackets and then do something similar, already have the T28.e and WB3.e so will have to complete the set, think I will stick with my sub(Dayton Audio UM15) and box for now and then if I do keep the car and start cutting then will likely be the 18 IB sub from One Audio.

    I’ve got a Seventour DSP going into a LC1i to a CAB-22 amplifier into a Cerwin Vega 12” Stroker sub. I can’t seem to get enough RCA output voltage from the DSP to trigger the LC1i to be maximized even at full main volume on the LC1i. It’s causing me to have to max out the gain on my CAB-22. I’ve used an oscope to set everything cleanly but the bass just isn’t there with everything on the DSP set to 0 db. If I go above +9 db from 30 hz up to 100 hz. I get clipping from the DSP. Maybe you have an idea?

  • @Jonas_Aa
    @Jonas_Aa 9 дней назад

    Are these ment to play down to meet the subwoofer at something like 80 Hz? Will they ever play that low? Modeling a closed box it gives a 2 sqft box and a -3 db of 102 Hz.

      No, this is a dedicated midbass driver intended to be used in a 3way.

    With a Qts of .5 how well would these perform in a sealed enclosure of approximately .5 cu/ft? Is there any chance you could model it and include it in the date when you test them? I’m currently running Dayton RS225 8” in custom enclosures that are bolted onto the doors and I’m curious if these will perform better.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  26 дней назад

      Well,since they are designed for IB,they will work in sealed. My guess, sealed they won't have much low end and will peak around 100-120Hz.

      Ring adaptors are vehicle dependent. There is no way you can have all of them in stock. And there is no one to fit all.

    I have to disagree with packaging, just the mechanics of it not the looks. LF audio recent unboxing videos show a product that was packed with care and space only for what is needed. I also happen to make packaging for my day job.

    Any speaker that has a Stamped steel basket is absolute rubbish. The rest of it looks cheap too. Im guessing a $12 price tag for the pair

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  26 дней назад

      I tend to disagree with you. There are many very good speakers with stamped steel baskets. Almost all pro audio drivers are. It helps to lower the production costs. The motor construction will have more impact on the performance of the driver than the basket.

    • @Campbell1.
      @Campbell1. 25 дней назад

      @@RAW-CAt I do not see any logic in your answer ie:"The motor construction will have more impact on the performance of the driver than the basket."Never heard such rot. Sorry, my opinion is that you do not know your physics or speaker design. We will leave it at that ok

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  25 дней назад +2

      @@Campbell1. I'm not sure you really understand how a speaker works and what does what. Speaker performance and quality (like the linearity, distortion) does not depend on the basket or material that it is made of. A basket is stuctural that holds everything togeter. Motor force, BL curve, Spider, surround, dust cap and cone will have a much higher influence on how a speaker performs than the basket. Sure, rigidity of the basket matters, but as long as the basket does it's job and does not ring (resonate), there are only diminishing returns between cast and stamped basket. A well designed stampled basked can be as good as cast.
