  • For educational use. Optimized for GCEA ukulele. Key of Am. The original is in Bm, so this is a whole step lower.
    As performed by Imagine Dragons.
    There is an existing ukulele play along by Linse Sullivan ( • Radioactive by Imagine... ). I wanted to add a few things for my students.
    Video created on the iPad Pro using Luma Fusion. The ukulele chord font is Chordette for Education, available at ukefarm.com.
    The colored font matches Aquila KIDS and DR Multi-Color ukulele strings.

    For anyone who wants strumming pattern recommendations, I really liked D DUU D during the chorus and D DUU for the rest of the song :) Happy playing!

    DDU (Mute) Sounds so good

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  5 лет назад +4

      That is a great solution/suggestion. This song is mostly used by schools with ukuleles in general music class, so the students are usually struggling to play the G and D chords. Chucking is still in most of their futures... :)

    The intro goes well with DDU UDU and the fist 2 verses with 2 strums per chord and the choruses with 4 strums like
    DDU UDU(intro)
    DD(verses)
    DD(post-verses)
    DDDD(pre choruses)
    DDDD(choruses)

      I had a person leave a comment the other day (I deleted it) that my channel sucked and that Ukulaliens is so much better...clearly not understanding that we’re not competitors and that we’re friends. All that said, positive feedback, especially from people that I count as colleagues, is appreciated!

    If you’re able to chuck I’d say you should try D-U-X(chuck) for strumming pattern to catch the drums in the song!

    can you show how many times we should play that same chord? its because i dont know if we should play it one time. sorry

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 года назад +1

      Not in this format. Watch for when the chord indicator starts to fade...and listen closely to the music. One of the benefits of this format is that you start to listen for the chord changes with repeated practice.

    Ok so here are the strumming patterns that work well with this song:
    DDU UDU (island strum)
    DDU
    DUU DUD
    DUDU D or DUUD U (for chorus ONLY)
    or anybody else’s ideas will work too.
    :3

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  3 года назад

      Thanks for adding a pattern. I always want to remind people that there isn't one correct pattern, but a bunch of patterns that can work for people. What is most important is keeping a steady beat and changing chords at the same time. Special patterns are just icing on the cake!

    to play the original, put a capo on 2nd fret

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 года назад

      But don’t play along with this recording! It has been transposed to match the chords. Or you can transpose all the chords up a Major 2nd and play the actual chords with the real recording.
      Remember that these are made to be used in schools in ukulele-friendly keys, so that students can play music they love as quickly as possible.

    • @charliewakefield612
      @charliewakefield612 4 года назад

      @@ukeplayalongs are all of your playalongs transposed to not need a capo?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 года назад

      There is one or there are two that require a capo and indicate that; otherwise all the videos here and on similar play along channels show the chords of the audio; I will sometimes make multiple versions.
