It’s funny, this song is so much more than just a song to me. In 6th grade a boy in my class died from cancer and the day he did, we played this song on the ukulele in music class. It will forever hold him in my heart and I will always think of him when I hear this song. Playing it on the ukulele makes me think and want to do more good for all those suffering with cancer. Last year I went around my block and raised 500 dollars for cancer care because of my experience, and I will continue raising money! ❤

One of the aspects of this kind of play along is that you are required to watch for the changes (they fade out as you need to change) and also develop your listening skills to hear the changes. It’s a different way of relating to music that closely relates to the skill of playing from a chord sheet.
im new to music can someone help me please? I cant seem to understand how im supposed to strum. I saw someone say DDU-UDU amd I feel like it works at first but when it speeds up it doesnt sound right anymore what am i misunderstanding?

I don't get it, I'm new. Is it in one sound (I mean Am, C.....) DDDDU or what? I use on one sound two Times down, is it then DD? (Sorry my veeery bad english 😂)
First, there is no "right" answer, so don't let anyone tell you that there is. What is important is playing chords at the right time and finding what sounds good to you. Try some finger picking in the intro, and then DDUDDU sounds pretty good to me. Emma Kerr below liked DDDUD.
This is pasted from another comment I posted on this video: The beginning works well with a plucking pattern...try this order: string 3, 2.,4, 1 (Thumb, 1st Finger, Thumb, 2nd Finger). Then once the song goes into full speed, anything goes as long as every beat is covered...even D D D D works great.
There are a lot of patterns you can try; on newer videos I make a tutorial; this is a much older video on this channel. I’d pick 124 - 3 - 2 - 1 most likely on this song (string order) but there is no “right” answer as ukulele was never used in the original version of this song.
